Josie grew up in northern New Jersey approximately 8 miles due west of mid-town Manhattan. She attended Catholic schools before moving south to complete a double major in American Studies and Cultural Geography at the University of Delaware, Newark, DE. She began studying karate under the leadership of Tsutomu Ohshima during her second year at school, and continued for the next 19 years or so. She also volunteered as a college DJ for the then WXDR-FM where she had the pleasure of being introduced to rocker George Thorogood, and getting sweaty while hard dancing at the Destroyers early career concerts in Newark. She began acting lessons after graduation and went on to get a masters degree in Philadelphia at Drexel University. She then continued primary study with Gordon Phillips, who trained with and taught for Lee Strasberg at the Actors Studio. After moving back home to New Jersey, she began training and auditioning in and around greater New York. Josie now resides and is pursuing her acting career in California.
