Recommended for readers aged 5-8, the 72-page fable will be published in hardcover and e-book on September 2 via Idw imprint Top Shelf Productions.

Who changes the leaves? Summons the autumn winds? Wakes ghosts and spirits to haunt houses and chill the air? Why, Spoops, of course! They hatch from the smallest gourds in your local pumpkin patch at the start of every fall, then tend to your town to ensure everything is just right for Halloween.

X-Men: All 7 Gambit actors ranked from worst to best
Patrick Stewart, James Marsden, and Hugh Jackman in X-Men (2000)
There have been some notable actors to play Gambit in X-Men media but how do they rank?

When Gambit debuted in the comics in 1990, he stood out nicely. The Cajun thief had a sneaky side and a mysterious past, but captivated readers with his slick accent, style, and mutant power to charge objects (usually playing cards) with kinetic energy to explode. Remy Labeau was soon a mainstay of the comics.

The character rose to prominence with the 1990s X-Men animated series. Over the years, there were plans to integrate him into the X-Men movies that never came about. He finally got there with a couple of live-action appearances and many more in animation and video games.

There have been seven official actors to play Gambit in X-Men media, with each bringing their own style and abilities to the role. Here’s how they rank to show who brought this raging...

X-men '97: Marvel's Brad Winderbaum Confirms That Season 2 Won't Arrive Until 2026
Image
Late last year, a rumor did the rounds that the highly-anticipated second season of X-Men '97 wouldn't premiere until 2026, and the lengthy wait has now been confirmed by Marvel's Brad Winderbaum.

"Season 2 of X-Men ‘97 is going to be in ‘26. We're working on it now," Winderbaum tells Collider. "It's exciting. That world of the ‘90s is just… Honestly, I can't believe they let me make it. I grew up at Marvel, as you know, clocked a lot of time here, and I feel like I used a lot of currency to revive this thing that I loved watching after school. So, the fact that we get to play in that universe with those actors is honestly why I went into this business in the first place."

When asked if we could expect more animated shows - and possibly a feature - to be announced soon, Winderbaum played it a little closer to the vest.

10 Strongest Black heroes of the Marvel Universe
Image
Colonel Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) is easily one of the most recognizable faces in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He led the Avengers and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. with an open hand of direction and a clenched fist of strength. If a parent or guardian of a young Black man or woman needed an example of a comic role model, Nick Fury would no doubt be a seminal choice.

He's bold, wise, and a leader of humanity. These are the stunning members of the Marvel Comics Universe who we have been privileged to watch every month, including Black History Month in February. Indeed, a few others in Marvel come to mind. The mighty names of the comic pantheon from Marvel--Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, John Romita, Jack Kirby--knew diversity and inclusion was the key to an entire and colorful universe.

After two films from creator and director Joe Dante, Gizmo and his friends returned in the original Max cartoon, Gremlins:Secrets of the Mogwai and its follow-up season, The Wild Batch. Set decades before the films, young adventurers Sam and Elle join the (apparently) immortal Gizmo on a dangerous mission to protect the mogwai and stop the mutated Gremlins from wreaking havoc.

In this interview with Cbr, the actors who bring the cartoons' main trio to life talk about joining the inimitable Gremlins legacy. Izaac Wang plays Sam Wing, the young hero who becomes the caretaker of Gizmo, voiced by industry veteran A.J. LoCascio. Joining them is Gabrielle Nevaeh Green's Elle, an orphan who lost her mother and was forced to live on the street working for a villain. The X-Men's Civil War for Charles Xavier's dream
Image
For the mutants in the Marvel Universe, the “X” once represented hope and unity. Two lines, crossing together. Inspired by the dream of Charles Xavier of mutantkind and mankind coexisting, the X-Men reinforced this, incorporating the letter into their name as if to say “We will protect the futures of man and mutant alike, no compromise.”

It was a hopeful dream, born of good and evil ideas that represented parallels to our world, such as the fight for civil rights. This was no more apparent than how Xavier and rival Magneto compared to real-life civil rights leaders such as Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X.

But this is a different time. This is a different era.

A divided future for the X-Men

Following the end of the Krakoa era of X-Men comics, this "Raid on Graymalkin" storyline within the “From the Ashes” crossover splits the team based on...

While there might not be a slew of series set to premiere on Max next month, that doesnt mean the options heading to the streaming platform are anything to overlook. Marvel's Kevin Feige Had Two Conditions To Greenlight X-Men '97
Image
There was so much to love about the '90s "X-Men" animated series that creating a revival show in 2024 seemed like a risky maneuver. But Disney's legacy sequel series, "X-Men '97," debuted to great reviews, providing '90s kids everywhere with a straight shot of animated nostalgia. Of course, the 2024 version of the show was a lot cleaner than the Og series, which originally ran from 1992 to 1997 on Fox Kids. "X-Men" debuted during a time when hand-drawn animation done under a tight budget and often shipped overseas for coloring gave all our favorite cartoons a charmingly janky aesthetic. That same feel was missing from the revival show, but that was really the only thing that felt different.

To make sure this particular nostalgia-fest hit properly, Disney and Marvel ensured they did everything they could to make "X-Men '97" feel as close to the original series as possible. The show was...

Gremlins: The Wild Batch (aka Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai season 2) continues the journey of a young Sam Wing, inching the character closer to the Mr. Wing audiences first met in 1984s Gremlins. As with the first season, Gremlins: The Wild Batch stars Izaac Wang as Sam Wing, Gabrielle Nevah as his resourceful friend Elle, and A.J. LoCascio as Gizmo (and the other Gremlins as well).

This animated take on the Gremlins franchise has always felt true to the films that inspired it, which is no doubt thanks in large part to people like showrunner and executive producer Tze Chun, executive producer Brendan Hay, and consulting producer Joe Dante. Beau DeMayo Will Reveal The "Whole Truth" Of His X-men '97 Firing... If You Subscribe To His OnlyFans Page
Image
Back in March, the surprising news broke that Marvel Studios/Disney had fired X-Men '97 showrunner Beau DeMayo shortly before the animated revival show's world premiere.

Since then, the internet has been rife with rumors and speculation about what might have led to DeMayo's dismissal, and last month, Marvel finally released a statement on the matter.

"Mr. DeMayo was terminated in March 2024 following an internal investigation. Given the egregious nature of the findings, we severed ties with him immediately and he has no further affiliation with Marvel."

Though no specific details were revealed, we have since heard that DeMayo was terminated for sending lewd photos to members of his staff, and there have been further reports of him being physically and sexually inappropriate with several of his colleagues.

DeMayo has denied this, suggesting that his firing was simply due to homophobia, and claiming that he was stripped of his X-Men '97...

Genius X-Men ’97 Season 2 Pitch is How Kevin Feige Will Add a Million More Fans to MCU Who are Desperate for Channing Tatum to Return as Gambit
Image
Channing Tatum certainly made a name for himself via his cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine. Taking on the fan-favorite mutant Gambit, Tatum strutted his stuff aplenty, which also included his hilarious accent, in The Void, and a recent post-credit scene shared by Reynolds confirms that the character even survived the onslaught Deadpool & Wolverine left for him and his partners to deal with.

The cameo has, almost immediately, resulted in widespread calls for a solo Gambit movie, for which Tatum is desperate, to say the least. And while the MCU may be short on options considering its busy slate over the upcoming period, one genius pitch for X-Men ‘97 Season 2 may be exactly how Tatum’s Gambit arrives to the MCU live-action, albeit eventually.

Image
Sanrio's beloved mascots like Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, My Melody and Kuromi have mass global appeal, but official releases are still often exclusive to Japan. Now, however, its latest crossover offers merchandise that's available for pre-order worldwide, and for one of the most heartfelt anime series to air in recent years.

Ranking of Kings, a coming-of-age fantasy anime based on the manga of the same name, premiered in 2021 and took its season by storm. Written by Taku Kishimoto and animated by Wit Studio, Ranking of Kings made headlines for its enormously sympathetic cast, unexpected fairy tale deconstructions and powerful tear-jerker moments. Its new collaboration with Sanrio may seem equally surprising at first glance, although the specific character matchups also feel oddly appropriate.
