It’s been four months since Zachary Quinto (American Horror Story) shed his scrubs and clocked out after the debut season of Brilliant Minds. Since then, fans of NBC’s newest medical procedural have been waiting on pins and needles for a reveal that will tell them whether the series will return as part of the network’s fall slate. It’s been tough on those who watched other newbies like St. Denis Medical and Happy’s Place landed their renewals at the start of the year, but we’ve finally got an answer today, as NBC has chosen to continue Quinto’s tenure as neurologist Oliver Wolf.
Initially introduced to audiences as part of NBC’s fall lineup for 2024, Brilliant Minds comes from Michael Grassi, who based much of the story on the very real life of neurologist Oliver Sacks and his non-fiction book series, The Man Who Mistook...

During a recent episode of Jeopardy!, fans were upset over a player’s recent response. The clue, which was part of Double Jeopardy, revolved around women’s anatomy. Many took to social media to discuss the response.
The Question Revolved Around The Reproductive System
During this past Wednesday’s episode, Drew Wheeler competed with Kevin Laskwoski and Julia Chan. Early on, Wheeler did quite well on the show, earning $3.5K by the end of the first round.
However, during the Double Jeopardy! Round, Wheeler was thrown off by a certain clue which asked about a temporary organ that helps a pregnant woman provide nutrition to her developing baby.
Drew Wheeler – YouTube
Wheeler’s response suggested they were looking for “uterus.” This response did not sit well with some viewers, who took to social media to discuss the clue.

NBC’s Brilliant Minds episode nine opens with Ericka (Ashleigh Lathrop) and Van (Alex MacNicoll) in bed, totally happy but also certain they can’t tell any of their colleagues about their relationship. They want to keep things uncomplicated as long as possible.
While this is going on Dr. Oliver Wolf’s voiceover is all about emotions and how they affect the way we see colors. Colors can also cause emotions.
Oliver (Zachary Quinto) comes into work smiling, and the interns joke among themselves about their boss getting laid. After leaving a quick voicemail for Dr. Josh Nichols (Teddy Sears), Oliver meets with Angelika Delaney about one of her artist clients, Gabriel Ferguson. Recently, he stopped painting and is blaming it on migraines.

Donna Murphy, Teddy Sears, and Zachary Quinto in ‘Brilliant Minds’ episode 8 (Photo by: Rafy/NBC)
NBC’s Brilliant Minds episode eight opens with Dr. Oliver Wolf (Zachary Quinto) thinking about what motivates us to carry on, even on our worst days. His opinion? It’s all about desire. When we get what we want, our brain gives us dopamine – the neurotransmitter that creates pleasure.
Dr. Ericka Kinney (Ashleigh Lathrop) and Dr. Jacob Nash (Spence Moore II) engage in a little flirting, but what catches Dr. Carol Pierce’s (Tamberla Perry) attention is the look that passes between Oliver and Dr. Josh Nichols (Teddy Sears).
In other news, the tension between Oliver and his mom, Dr. Muriel Landon (Donna Murphy), is so thick you could cut it with a knife.
Episode eight’s titular case involves June Sullivan (Susan Nimoy), an elderly woman whose two adult sons are concerned she may have dementia.

Apple TV+'s Before not only presents a thrilling psychological drama but also features some memorable characters portrayed by talented cast members. Written by Sarah Thorp, Before has received an underwhelming reception from viewers and critics since its release. Many critics have expressed their disappointment in the Apple TV+ original show's inability to present a cohesive storyline and its over-the-top fantastical elements that gradually weigh down its initial promise of being a compelling and atmospheric psychological drama.
However, despite garnering negative reviews, Before has been appreciated for the performances of its cast members. Many have cited the leading star, Billy Crystal, as the show's only saving grace and even commended the performances of other familiar and new faces that appear in the series. Since the actors in Before have played a crucial role in making it more watchable, many viewers may be curious about who plays whom in the show...

"BoJack Horseman" is one of the best projects that Netflix has ever created. An odd mishmash of genres, it's a show that could only exist within the streaming era. The series refuses to abide by a formula -- constantly upending the viewer's expectations. Animated comedy shows for adults have evolved since the initial success of "Family Guy" and "South Park." While "BoJack Horseman" has its fair share of crass humor, it's a remarkably earnest examination of celebrity culture, depression, substance abuse, and non-traditional relationships in the 21st century. Who would have thought a show about a talking horse would become one of our generation's most insightful series?
"BoJack Horseman" takes place in a somewhat recognizable version of reality, where anthropomorphic animals exist alongside humans. Although the actor BoJack (Will Arnett) received syndicated sitcom fame in the 1990s -- thanks to his role in "Horsin' Around" -- he's become a recluse in the 2000s.

The story revolved around the tangled, messy lives of the agents who work for the Investigative Services Branch (Isb) — an elite law enforcement unit responsible for solving all serious crimes that occur in our country’s 81,000 square miles of protected land.

“Archive 81” will not receive a second season on Netflix, TheWrap has learned.
The series, from creator Rebecca Sonnenshine, starred Mamoudou Athie as video archivist Dan Turner, who was restoring tapes in the present, originally shot by Melody Pendras (Dina Shihabi) in 1994 at the mysterious Visser apartment building.
In different timelines, both Dan and Melody uncover disturbing secrets about a destructive, demon-worshipping cult.
The series, which costarred Martin Donovan, Evan Jonigkeit, Julia Chan, Ariana Neal and Matt McGorry, was loosely inspired by the podcast of the same name.
Sonnenshine created the series and served as showrunner and executive producer. James Wan and Michael Clear of Atomic Monster also executive produced with Rebecca Thomas, Antoine Douaihy and Paul Harris Boardman.
The series, which debuted in January, ended on a cliffhanger that left Dan’s fate up in the air.

“The Witcher,” “Stay Close,” “Cobra Kai,” “Emily in Paris,” and “Manifest” all retained their dominion on Netflix’s English-language TV Top 10 list for the second full week of 2022, while the sixth season of makeover show “Queer Eye” fell through the cracks, leaving room for newcomers “Cheer” (Season 2) and “Archive 81” to join the ranks.

When it comes to living in New York City, few things are as scary as real estate. But in Netflix’s “Archive 81,” premiering January 14 on the streamer, it’s not the rent or the rodents that terrify. It’s “pioneers of the imagination,” according to the trailer.
At least, that’s the impression given in the series’ first trailer. Based on the three-season podcast of the same name, the upcoming horror thriller finds a video archivist Dan (Mamoudou Athie) attempting to restore VHS tapes damaged in a fire. And as everyone from “The Ring” to “V/H/S/” knows, there’s nothing more frightening than what lies on analog.
Sure enough, Dan is able to restore some tapes just enough to become enmeshed in documentarian Melody’s 1994 exploration of a NYC apartment building, where some very strange things are happening, including mask-wearing, modern dance, and some very scary tenant meetings. Not...

Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for the upcoming horror series “Archive 81,” which draws upon nostalgia for the videotape era of the 1990s to weave a chilling tale that plays out across dual timelines.
Loosely inspired by the podcast of the same name, “Archive 81” begins in present day with a character named Dan (Mamoudou Athie) being hired by a shadowy organization to restore video tapes that were damaged in a fire 25 years ago. As Dan restores the tapes in a remote location (“for his security” he’s assured), he witnesses the story of a woman named Melody (Dina Shihabi) who begins videotaping residents of an odd apartment building to create an oral history, only to discover something incredibly strange about the building and its inhabitants.

Katy Keene's New York fairytale is coming to an abrupt conclusion.
The CW has canceled the Riverdale spinoff after just one season.
The drama's freshman finale aired May 14, and while it seemed the series would be a hit because of its connection to Riverdale, it was not meant to be.
Katy Keene Season 1 averaged 480,000 total viewers and a 0.1 rating among adults.
Out of 16 dramas the network aired this season, it ranked 14th.
It bested In the Dark and Dynasty -- both of which have been picked up for the 2020-21 TV season.
Alarm bells started ringing when The CW opted to hold off on a renewal decision, with network president Mark Pedowitz wanting to wait to assess the digital figures for the series.
The CW has always looked at the bigger picture when it comes to other avenues people use to watch their shows.

The CW is not moving forward with a second season of the “Riverdale” spinoff “Katy Keene,” TheWrap has confirmed.
“Katy Keene” was the last remaining show on The CW’s slate not to be `picked up for another season after the network did a bulk renewal back in January of all its other scripted series that weren’t headed for a pre-planned ending. Two other freshman dramas, “Batwoman” and “Nancy Drew,” were among the early renewals.
At the time, the network ordered additional scripts for “Katy Keene,” suggesting some confidence in the series, which had not yet made its premiere on the network. However, “Katy Keene” was not able to match the success of “Riverdale” during its run, hovering around a 0.2 rating in the demo with a week of delayed viewing factored in, according to Nielsen.

The CW has opted not to proceed with a second season of Katy Keene. Warner Bros. Television, the studio behind The Riverdale spinoff headlined by Lucy Hale, is planning to explore options for keeping the show going.
The CW Chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz in May revealed that the options on the cast, which originally expired June 30, had been extended as the network was mulling their renewal decision. I hear the extension is until July 31, giving Wbtv a window to pursue a new home. Given Katy Keene‘s streaming deal at Wbtv corporate sibling HBO Max, which is currently carrying Season 1, the platform is considered the most realistic option for keeping Katy Keene alive.
Katy Keene was the only current CW series not to get a renewal for next season in January. In a vote of confidence, the network at the time gave the midseason show a 13-script order ahead of its premiere.

When you first heard about a Riverdale spinoff, you likely didn't expect a series revolving around the fashion and music industry, but that's exactly what you get with The CW's Katy Keene.
Devoid of murders and darkness, the series (based on the Archie Comics), spearheaded by Lucy Hale in the role of the titular character, shines bright amidst the supernatural vibes of its sister shows, Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and the often supernatural lineup embraced on The CW.
In place of those murder mysteries that tend to envelop the residents of Riverdale, Katy Keene sets the stage for a coming-of-age tale that propels themes of hopefulness, following your destiny, and chasing every opportunity.
Some of us -- the ones that were old enough to have watched Gossip Girl and Sex and the City when it aired live, anyway -- might say that the series is the younger sister...

Katy Keene wraps its first season tonight, but will there be a second? Recently, CW boss Mark Pedowitz spoke with Deadline about the decision to renew or cancel the TV show.

The CW is set to make a decision on the future on Katy Keene “in a few weeks” and the network hopes that more streaming numbers will make up for “soft” linear ratings.
The network will take into account streaming figures for the show, which will have all episodes stacked on The CW’s digital platform and will launch on HBO Max at the end of the month, before making a renewal decision.
The CW Chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz added that it had extended the options on the cast ahead of a decision.

Speaking on a call to discuss the network’s fall and 2021 schedule, he said that he was pleased with the creative of the show. “The linear ratings have been soft but we have seen some good streaming viewership,” he added. “We’ll make a decision in a few weeks.

Lucy Hale has gone from the murder mystery thrills of Pretty Little Liars to the fashionable fantasy frills of Katy Keene — but the freshman Riverdale spinoff was based on the Katy Keene comic that was first published in the ’40s and focused on multihyphenate model-actress-singer who was dubbed as “America’s Queen of Pin-Ups and Fashions”. Hale joined us at Deadline’s New Hollywood Podcast to talk to us about how CW’s Katy Keene is the same and how it differs from the original.
Written by Aguirre-Sacasa and Michael Grassi, Katy Keene follows the life of the titular fashion designer with a heart of gold and her Archie-verse friends in New York City. Bridging Katy Keene and Riverdale is singer Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray) who is joined by new characters Jorge Lopez and his drag persona Ginger (Jonny Beauchamp) and “It Girl” Pepper Smith (Julia Chan) as they chase their respective dreams.

What is Kevin Keller circa 2025 up to?
Katy Keene Season 1 Episode 10 will lift the lid on that as Casey Cott's character makes his way to the Riverdale spinoff this week.
The CW has dropped the latest trailer, which shows Kevin meeting Katy for the first time, but there's no telling what brings him to New York City.
If you watch Katy Keene online, you know Josie has been struggling to revive the Pussycats, and could use some assistance from Kevin.
The official logline for the episode teases that Josie has a falling out with the Pussycats, and it's not a surprise.
Josie hated the picks from Mr. Cabot, so she went off on her own to revive the band, even admitting that she didn't care about the Ep deal she had.
If Kevin can help her realize that she doesn't need to be bickering with members of the band...

Katy and her inner circle are just like the rest of us.
Katy Keene Season 1 Episode 8 reiterated the fact that looks can be deceiving, and all of these characters are going through things we wouldn't even dream of.
On the outside, they appear to have perfect lives, thanks in large part to their drive to be the best versions of themselves.
But living a lie will only get you so far. We'll talk about Pepper first because her lies are slowly but surely starting to unravel around her.
We knew we weren't getting the full story with her, but the last thing I expected was her father to be revealed as one of Miss. Freesia's workers. Even worse, he didn't know her exact birthdate.
That's got to sting. At least he brought cake because that makes everything okay. If you watch Katy Keene online, you know Pepper is the least...
