Wolfgang Van Halen’s Mammoth paid their respects to the late Ozzy Osbourne during their show on Tuesday (July 22nd) in Hartford, Connecticut, playing a cover of the ballad “Mama, I’m Coming Home.”
Wolfgang and his band learned of Ozzy’s passing right before soundcheck for the show at Xfinity Theater, where the group was supporting Creed’s ongoing tour.

While addressing the crowd during the gig, Wolfgang explained he and his bandmates felt that they needed to cover an Ozzy song rather than just mentioning his passing.
“That fucking sucks that we are in a world that doesn’t have Ozzy Osbourne anymore,” Wolfgang said. “And it was right before we went on soundcheck that we found out. And I thought, ‘Well, we have to do something. Just mentioning it isn’t enough.’ We’ve played through this maybe three times, so please bear...

Wolfgang Van Halen’s Mammoth have announced their third album, The End, arriving October 24th. The second single “The Spell” can be streamed now.
The track is a highly melodic slice of hard rock that spotlights Wolfgang’s soaring vocals and multi-instrument prowess, from pocketed drumming to dexterous guitarwork. The music video takes this a step further, imagining a band of four Wolfgangs playing together (similar to his “Don’t Back Down” video from 2021) — which is technically true to life, considering he recorded all the instruments himself.

We’ve also heard the excellent title track/lead single from the The End, which was recorded at Eddie Van Halen’s 5150 studio with producer and collaborator Michael “Elvis” Baskette.

Reuniting onstage for the first time in two decades, Black Sabbath performed to a sold-out crowd of 40,000 with its all-star, one-day-only charity festival Back to the Beginning, held in Ozzy Osbourne’s hometown of Birmingham on July 5 and serving as a farewell concert to and celebration of the longtime rocker.
Held at Villa Park, the lineup billed heavy metal music royalty like Metallica, Alice in Chains, Guns N’ Roses, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, The Smashing Pumpkin’s Billy Corgan, Korn’s Jonathan Davis, Wolfgang Van Halen, Yungblud and many others. Jason Momoa was in attendance as the fete’s host alongside Adria Arjona, with the Aquaman star hyping up the audience on stage and even starting a circle pit in the crowd.

Wolfgang Van Halen was announced as part of the original lineup for the upcoming “Back to the Beginning” concert featuring the final performances of Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne. Unfortunately, he has since had to back out due to his band Mammoth’s commitment as a support act on Creed’s summer tour.
In an interview with the radio station Wrif Detroit, Wolfgang explained, “I, unfortunately, had to back out because the Creed tour starts the day after, and I wouldn’t be able to pull it off — unfortunately. I’m very excited to watch it, but I unfortunately had to back out.”

The “Back to the Beginning” concert takes places July 5th at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, while Creed’s North American summer tour kicks off July 9th in Lexington, Kentucky. So, while it’s not exactly the next day, it is just a few days after.

Wolfgang Van Halen stopped by the Drumeo studio for a new video feature about his uncle, Alex, the drummer of Van Halen. In the 20-minute clip, Wolfgang opens up about his uncle’s legacy as a somewhat underrated facet of Van Halen, while also playing through a few Van Halen songs on the kit himself.
“If he wasn’t in a band with Eddie Van Halen, I think he would be lauded as one of the greatest drummers of all-time,” Wolfgang said. “Seeing the show live, you’ve got Dave fucking jumping around, doing pirouettes and shit, and you’ve got all the crazy shit dad’s doing — there’s so much happening, you can’t really lock in on the fact that Alex is demolishing everything in the most amazing way.”

Wolfgang Van Halen has revealed that he used his late father Eddie Van Halen‘s iconic Frankenstein guitar, aka the Frankenstrat, to record parts on his new Mammoth song “The End.”
The intro to Wolfgang’s one-off single sounds eerily reminiscent to Eddie’s guitar tapping — one of his signature techniques — as heard on Van Halen hits like “Hot for Teacher.” Not only does Wolfgang emulate that tapping perfectly, but he even used Eddie’s legendary red-and-white striped axe to evoke his father’s tone and sound.

“Fun fact, I recorded the main tapping of the song, and the slap part with the Frankenstein!” shared Wolfgang on X/Twitter, along with a video of him performing the slap part. “Makes me feel closer to Pop that such an important part of his history can live with mine every time I record.”

A reunion of the 1996 vampire action film From Dusk Till Dawn has happened, but it isn't for a sequel or a reboot. Instead, director Robert Rodriguez decided to listen to a fan's request and revisit the horror universe that introduced us to Santánico Pandemonium. How exactly? Through a music video that'll leave you wanting more of Rodriguez's unique approach to the vampire genre.
The music video is "The End," by heavy metal band Mammoth. Band leader Wolfgang Van Halen, the son of guitar legend Eddie, stars in the video where the band arrives at a shady bar where their tunes aren't exactly welcome. We'll skip a few of the details that may give you an idea that the bar is just a branch of From Dusk Till Dawn's T*tty Twister.

Rodriguez co-directed this gnarly horror music video with special FX legend Greg Nicotero - it's a werewolf and monster-filled hard rock music video for Mammoth Wvh's song "The End." When they finally start playing in this small venue, everything turns to mayhem when the crowd of concertgoers transforms into monsters. At first it's a big hairy werewolf, but then...

Wolfgang Van Halen‘s Mammoth have released a new song, “The End,” along with a star-studded Robert Rodriguez-directed video featuring Danny Trejo, Slash, and more.
“The End” marks the first new music from Wolfgang since he dropped his initials from the Mammoth Wvh moniker, and it’s a ripper, opening with a shreddy tapping solo that echoes the guitar theatrics of Wolfgang’s late father, the legendary Eddie Van Halen. Performed by Wolfgang and returning collaborator Michael “Elvis” Baskette, the track balances fast-paced verses sections with a hyper melodic chorus that showcases Wolfgang’s vocals.

Billy Corgan thinks The Smashing Pumpkins are “one of the most misunderstood bands in the history of rock ‘n’ roll.” That’s what the alt-rock act’s frontman told Joe Rogan during a near-three-hour conversation on the latter’s über-popular podcast.

While talking about polarizing music acts, Corgan said, “You’re about to see that Nickelback and Creed are about to go on a huge run of business. … They survived [the hate], and now comes the inevitable moment of, ‘It was really good’ … they wrote a lot of great songs.”

Jelly Roll attended the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio, and posted a group photo including musicians Jack Black, Chad Smith and Wolfgang Van Halen. Minutes after, he declared that image would be his last on the platform.
“This place is different man, I always heard it was the Wild West on here but man it’s insane,” he said of X, which is owned by Elon Musk. “It’s a safe place for everyone to say mean s– to each other with no consequences. I’m out lol.”

Jelly Roll is not the first to acknowledge the concerning atmosphere of X since Musk took over.

How do you induct the Prince of Darkness into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? With an all-star celebration. On Saturday night, Billy Idol, Jelly Roll, and Tool frontman Maynard Keenan gathered to sing songs from throughout Ozzy Osbourne’s solo career.
After Osbourne himself kicked things off by bellowing the words, “All aboard,” the tribute started with “Crazy Train,” with Wolfgang Van Halen playing a ripping solo as Keenan took on the vocals. Jelly Roll stepped up next, singing Osbourne’s iconic power ballad “Mama, I’m Coming Home.

Ozzy Osbourne was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday night (October 19th) in Cleveland with a rousing and highly entertaining speech by Jack Black. The Prince of Darkness was also honored with a three-song performance fronted by Maynard James Keenan, Jelly Roll, and Billy Idol.
Jack Black gave an all-time Rock Hall speech, with his face turning beet red as he hilariously screamed his way through a highly animated rundown of Ozzy’s various achievements.
Ozzy himself followed, sitting in a giant leather bat-design chair. The metal icon singled out his late guitarist Randy Rhoads and his wife Sharon during his brief speech.
The all-star performance was next, as Tool’s Maynard James Keenan sang “Crazy Train” alongside Wolfgang Van Halen on lead guitar, with a backing band of Chad Smith on drums, Robert Trujillo on bass, Andrew Watt on rhythm guitar, and Adam Wakeman on keyboards.

Wolfgang Van Halen: Net Worth, Age, Height & Everything You Need To Know About Eddie Van Halen's Son
With a name like Wolfgang Van Halen, the rock star needs little introduction, but the bassist's net worth is still an interesting figure that shows just how much the top musicians can make. Van Halen, alongside Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, Kiss, Queen, and AC/DC, was one of the key bands who helped return hard rock to the mainstream music scene after the genre slowly gestated in the 1960s with bands like Led Zeppelin, the Who, and the Rolling Stones dabbling in it. Formed in 1973, the band featured Eddie Van Halen, his brother Alex Van Halen, David Lee Roth, and Michael Anthony.
Van Halen songs have frequently appeared in movies, and the band remains an important part of pop culture. Wolfgang Van Halen, Eddy's and actress Valerie Bertinelli's son, joined the band in 2007 as a bassist and played until the band retired in 2020 after the death of his father. The audiobook version of Alex Van Halen’s upcoming memoir Brothers will feature an incredible added bonus, as it will be soundtracked by the last piece of music that the Van Halen drummer wrote with his late brother, guitarist Eddie Van Halen. The previously unreleased track, titled “Unfinished,” will be heard as Alex narrates his story.
Brothers, set for release on October 22nd via HarperCollins (available for pre-order here), has been described as a “love letter” to Eddie. Alex himself noted, “This is my tribute to my brother; my way of saying goodbye. Ed, I love you and miss you. When I see you again, I’m gonna kick your ass!”
The 384-page book details Alex and Eddie’s lives from their childhood to the guitarist’s passing in 2020. As Alex describes, “I was with him from day one. We shared the experience of coming to this country and figuring out how to fit in.

Miike Snow are back with their first new song in eight years, “I Was a Sailor.”
Built around a natural drum groove and a hazy piano part, “I Was a Sailor” demonstrates the Swedish band’s knack for creative arrangements and memorable melodies. Tension-building verses give way to a catchy chorus, and a flute solo adds a wonderful layer of color overtop.

Following the Paramount+ premiere of the new Wolfgang Van Halen episode of Behind the Music on Thursday (May 2nd), his mom, Valerie Bertinelli, has opened up about her tumultuous marriage to Eddie Van Halen. The actress posted a video on Instagram, admitting that she had turned her relationship with the late rock star into “some sort of fantasy, soulmate recreation of history.”
“I was finally able to watch Wolfie’s Behind the Music,” began Bertinelli. “It was not easy. I’d stopped it many times because it was just too brutal to watch for many reasons. One, seeing Wolfie’s pain. Two, seeing what a better job I could have done as a parent even though he turned out magnificently. I made a lot of mistakes.”

David Lee Roth has released the new song “Scotch and Sofa.” The track is the latest in a series of one-off singles from the Van Halen singer, and it might be the most eccentric of the bunch.
Laced with prominent horns, Dlr dabbles in a bit of salsa/disco on the song. There’s also a bit of the lounge-y cabaret vibes Diamond Dave has always had an affinity for. An Easter Egg for Van Halen fans comes in the form of his chorus delivery of “scotch and sofa” — which shares the same cadence as “hot for teacher.”
Roth shared the song on his YouTube channel under the title “Scotch and Sofa 4” but offered little else regarding its origin. Like his other recent post-“retirement” singles, the track might have came from recording sessions nearly a decade ago at Henson Recording Studios in Hollywood, California.

Ryan Gosling has been killing it on the career front with his performance in last year’s Barbie garnering much praise, including an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He won hearts at the Oscars this year with his rendition of the Oscar-nominated song ‘I’m Just Ken’, with celebrities such as Emma Stone and Margot Robbie joining in on the fun.
However, one person who was not present was Gosling’s partner Eva Mendes. Though the actress was seen near Gosling’s dressing room, she was notably absent at the ceremony while the Barbie star was bringing down the roof with his performance. Now, an insider stated that the couple were headed for a breakup and that they had separate lives.

All Ryan Gosling needed was a 40-piece orchestra, 62 dancing Kens, over 24 gigantic Barbie heads, four “cameo Kens” and a Guns N’Roses surprise to turn his highly anticipated performance of “Barbie” track “I’m Just Ken” into one of the most unbelievable moments in award show history.
After all the protracted speculation about whether Gosling would perform “I’m Just Ken” at the Oscars, the news broke in late February that he had been confirmed for a song and dance extravaganza. But in fact, Oscars producers had been talking to Gosling for months.
“Ryan Gosling is a true professional, that man — we met with him on Zooms months ago, talking about that performance,” said Molly McNearney, who produced the show with Raj Kapoor, Katy Mullan and Rob Paine. “Greta Gerwig weighed in creatively as well. He was so committed to it. His choreographer, Mandy Moore, is exceptional — she was on all the calls.

Though she had a ticket to sit in the audience at the Oscars, choreographer Mandy Moore, who helmed Sunday’s show-stealing “I’m Just Ken” number, couldn’t help but stand in the wings and give all the Kens a pep talk before they headed onstage.
“It was so hype,” Moore said of the energy backstage.
The performance saw Barbie movie star and Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling, in a bright pink bedazzled suit and cowboy hat, lead an army of 62 Kens, as well as his fellow Barbie movie Kens — Simu Liu, Ncuti Gatwa, Kingsley Ben-Adir and Scott Evans — in an all-out dance number that paid homage to Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, included “street-style dancing,” filled the stage with Barbie cardboard cut-outs and ended in a Rockettes-style kickline.

While Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer may have won the most awards, Ryan Gosling’s performance of ‘I’m Just Ken’ from Barbie stole the Oscars earlier today. Clad in a glittering pink suit, Gosling’s solo performance of his Oscar-nominated song received a standing ovation and made the entire auditorium stand up and sing.
Apart from a surprise guitar solo by Slash from Guns N’ Roses and Wolfgang Van Halen from Van Halen, fans picked out one more detail from Gosling’s soon-to-be legendary performance. The pink suit worn by Ryan Gosling as well as the background dancers’ tuxedo with pink stripes was a direct reference to Marilyn Monroe’s iconic costume from the song ‘Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend’.
