To date, there's no such thing as a bad episode of "Interview with the Vampire." Rolin Jones' AMC adaptation of Anne Rice's famed vampire novels has so far pulled off an astonishing balancing act for 15 episodes and counting. The show is a beautiful collision of modes of drama that shouldn't work on TV, including but not limited to rich, ornate dialogue, dark humor and camp, and painfully poignant tragedy. It's decadent, gothic, and melodramatic, yet it constantly presents deep-seated, timeless truths about family, identity, and the search for self.
The show also works with human memory in a way few others have before it, building its first two seasons out of a house of the flimsiest of paper cards –- the biased, editorialized, corrupted memories of Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson), his dead daughter Claudia (Bailey Bass and Delainey Hayles), and his enigmatic boyfriend Armand (Assad Zaman...

Just last month, AMC announced that they had ordered a third season of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire – and that with season 3, the show would be moving on to the events of the second novel in Rice’s Vampire Chronicles series, The Vampire Lestat! In this story, Lestat becomes the frontman in a rock band, something that carries over into the events of the third book, The Queen of the Damned. That’s why those books were mashed together for the 2002 film Queen of the Damned, where Lestat’s singing voice was provided by Jonathan Davis of Korn. If you’ve been curious to hear what Lestat’s singing voice will sound like on the Interview with the Vampire TV series, AMC has you covered: they’ve just released Lestat’s first single, “Long Face,” and you can check it out in the embed above.

[This story contains spoilers from the season two finale of Interview With the Vampire, “And That’s the End of It. There’s Nothing Else.”]
Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) may have completed his second interview with the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) in Dubai, but the two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist could not resist unraveling the biggest secret that underlied Louis’ strained, 77-year relationship with the vampire Armand (Assad Zaman).
In the season two finale of AMC’s adaptation of Anne Rice’s Interview With the Vampire, Daniel — with the help of the secret society known as the Talamasca, which investigates and monitors supernatural beings — discovers Armand’s biggest betrayal of Louis. Not only did Armand report Louis and Claudia (Delainey Hayles) for turning Claudia’s companion, Madeleine (Roxane Duran), into a vampire and for violating vampiric laws, but Armand also directed the show trial that was supposed to lead to the demise of all three at...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for the Interview With the Vampire Season 2 finale, “And That’s the End of It. There’s Nothing Else.”] Just before Interview With the Vampire Season 2 began airing on AMC, showrunner Rolin Jones told TV Insider that “[Episodes] 7 and 8 feel like cathartic culminations of a very, very large swing. I think it delivers.” Indeed, few shows deliver an ending as transcendent as this. AMC’s Interview With the Vampire is a symphony of excellence from Episode 1 to Episode 15. TV Insider spoke with Jacob Anderson, Sam Reid, Assad Zaman, and Eric Bogosian for a full breakdown of the Season 2 finale. The finale began with Louis (Anderson in an Emmy-worthy performance) on a rampage. Rage gave way to madness after Armand exhumed Louis from his rocky grave in the walls of the Théâtre des Vampires. Seeking revenge for the murders of Claudia (Delainey Hayles) and Madeleine (Roxane Duran), Louis put ...

This article contains spoilers for Interview with the Vampire season 2 episode 8 and Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles novels.
Loose ends are tied off like veins, and chestnuts drop like blood into wine flutes in the Interview with the Vampire season 2 finale. The title of episode 8, “And That’s The End Of It. There’s Nothing Else,” promises extreme closure but opens the doors to far more damage to come. Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson), exiled for the crimes against vampires which brought death sentences to Claudia (Delainey Hayles) and Madeleine (Roxane Duran), dispatches the repertory players of Théâtre des Vampires with incendiary critiques and dramatic exits. His rage conspires with his madness to destroy the Coven.
In the penultimate episode, “I Could Not Prevent It,” Claudia is executed for killing her maker, Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid), and journaling about vampire secrets. In the season 2 finale, Louis goes a step further,...

This article contains spoilers for Interview with the Vampire season 2 episode 7 and Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles novels.
Hang a jury. The verdict is in. A conviction sealed. Interview with the Vampire season 2 episode 7 “I Could Not Prevent It” is moving, chilling, and adventurous in ways horror, romance, and television rarely pardon. Curtains rise on the trial for Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson), Claudia (Delainey Hayles), and Madeleine (Roxane Duran), who broke the Five Immortal Vampire Laws, and the legal procedural dismisses traditional rules of regular programming. Everything is scripted, but feels as off-book as Lestat de Lioncourt’s (Sam Reid) disregard for counseled testimony. The implicit danger of the approach is subtle, undeniable, and unique. There is nothing screening or streaming like it. You should watch it right now (or later on when it eventually arrives to Netflix).
“I Could Not Prevent It” yanks the rug from expectations and accepted truths.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Interview With the Vampire Season 2 Episode 7, “I Could Not Prevent It.”] Madeleine was determined to survive. The dressmaker, played by the captivating Roxane Duran, met a tragic fate in Interview With the Vampire Season 2 Episode 7 alongside her immortal companion Claudia (the powerful Delainey Hayles). But even that end was Madeleine’s definition of survival, according to Duran. As the actor told fans on X (previously called Twitter), she could either “live in darkness or die with light by your side.” After choosing the former many times before, Madeleine finally chose the latter. Madeleine’s life before Claudia was filled with darkness. From tuberculosis wiping out her entire family to living through the German occupation in World War II, hardship was the norm. Profound desperation during the war led to Madeleine’s brief affair with a Nazi, Duran tells TV Insider. She says this relationship “is not about love” at all, but rather, it...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Interview With the Vampire Season 2 Episode 6 “Like the Light by Which God Made the World Before He Made Light.”] Ladies and gentlemen, Lestat de Lioncourt is ready for his close-up. As fans of AMC‘s exceedingly fangtastic Interview with the Vampire know, reports of the undead pot-stirrer’s demise have been greatly exaggerated. At the end of last week’s episode, it was revealed that Sam Reid‘s ancient bloodsucker had not only survived the Season 1 finale murder attempt by lover Louis (Jacob Anderson) in New Orleans but was also now in Paris with the Théâtre des Vampires coven he created. This week, Lestat is stepping back on stage for what Anne Rice readers will recognize as a pivotal event with seismic aftershocks: The trial of Louis, adopted “daughter” Claudia (Delainey Hayles), and her companion Madeleine (Roxane Duran) for high vampiric crimes. [Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Interview With the Vampire Season 2 Episode 6 “Like the Light by Which God Made the World Before He Made Light.” It also contains discussion of suicide.] Interview With the Vampire Season 2 Episode 6 delivered one of the series’ most enthralling romantic moments juxtaposed by one of its greatest tragedies, setting the stage for what Jacob Anderson tells TV Insider is “a brutal hour of television” in next week’s penultimate episode of the season. After Armand (Assad Zaman) feared “mutiny brewing” among the Théâtre des Vampires in Paris in Episode 4, Episode 6 revealed in its final moments that he secretly made a plan to save himself from their wrath by selling out Louis (Anderson), Claudia (Delainey Hayles), and her new companion Madeleine (Roxane Duran). After kissing Louis on the cheek while on a double date with Claudia and Madeleine, whom Louis turned into a vampire with Claudia’s help earlier in the episode, Armand stood ...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Interview With the Vampire Season 2 Episode 4, “I Want You More Than Anything in the World.”] Claudia and Louis have reached a point of no return in Interview With the Vampire Season 2. Delainey Hayles tells TV Insider that “trust is gone” between them after Claudia learned Louis (Jacob Anderson) concealed Armand’s (Assad Zaman) knowledge of their history with Lestat (Sam Reid) from her in Season 2 Episode 4, “I Want You More Than Anything in the World.” This led to a blowout fight between the father-daughter duo, during which Hayles says Claudia was still trying to take care of Louis despite her “seeing red” because of him. Armand threatened Claudia for spending time with the human Madeleine (the alluring Roxane Duran) and away from the theater in the episode, which aired Sunday, June 2 on AMC. Given her murderous history, does Claudia now want to kill Armand? “I think she wants to kill Louis first,” Hayles...

Plot: As Louis and Claudia escape to Paris after killing Lestat, and are ready to embark on new relationships in the new city. But they find themselves in a world influenced by Lestat, especially when they join the Theatre de Vampires, a performing group found by Lestat.
Review: Timed perfectly to Halloween, the 2022 debut of Interview with the Vampire beautifully updated the first volume in Anne Rice’s vast series for a new generation. With a young cast and a more overt take on the homoerotic elements of the novels, AMC’s series was designed to kickstart a cinematic universe of adaptations from the author’s works. While Mayfair Witches did not work as well, the second season of Interview with the Vampire is a welcome return to the stories of Louis, Claudia, Lestat, and more. Billed as “Part II,” the second season chronicles the back half of Rice’s novel.

The timeless love story at the heart of AMC’s Interview with the Vampire won many fans in 2022, but with increased delays for the second season, a lot has changed during the extended hiatus.
It’s rare for a vampire drama to offer more than it borrows from the genre, but the show managed to break through armed with many of Anne Rice’s unique storylines from the novel series.
At the time of its launch, AMC was losing The Walking Dead as the long-running zombie drama signed off after 11 seasons, so new franchises were in demand by the cabler.
Interview with the Vampire broke through with critical acclaim. The show garnered plenty of praise and solid ratings, resulting in a very early renewal for Season 2.
Now that new episodes are approaching, we must review everything we know about the upcoming season.

Eight for Silver is a horror movie that was originally released in 2021 under the title The Cursed. Directed by Sean Ellis, it stars Boyd Holbrook, Kelly Reilly, and Alistair Petrie and takes place in the late 19th century, centring around a small village in France where a series of brutal murders have taken place. The locals are convinced that a pack of wolves is responsible for the killings, but a British pathologist, John McBride (Holbrook), arrives to investigate and discovers that something far more sinister is at play.
One of the strengths of Eight for Silver is its visual style. The movie is shot in a dark, atmospheric manner that perfectly captures the eerie and foreboding mood of the story.

There’s a wonderful symmetry to the lead casting of Lesley Manville in Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris, playing a woman who’s the flipside of Cyril, her role in Phantom Thread. That character glided around a mid-’50s London couture atelier with icy ownership, fiercely protective of her dress designer brother and his classical creations. As Mrs. Harris, Manville dreams of accessing a similarly privileged world of sartorial splendor, one in which her age and class make her seem an unlikely interloper. The beauty of her performance in this delightful fairy tale for grown-ups is the way in which her purity of heart and inherent goodness gently pry open those closed doors.
Manville has excelled at playing characters on the brittle, aloof, even villainous end of the spectrum; she was a viciously tyrannical matriarch in Let Him Go and the juiciest of schemers in Harlots.

"You will all pay for the sins made by our elders." Ld Entertainment has unveiled an official trailer for the film The Cursed, which is the new titled for the horror thriller called Eight for Silver. This premiered at last year's Sundance Film Festival under the Eight for Silver titled, received mixed reviews with some bits of praise. In rural 19th-century France, a mysterious, possibly supernatural menace threatens a small village. John McBride, a pathologist, comes to town to investigate -- and exorcise some of his own demons in the process. This is a werewolf film, which isn't so much of a spoiler, because it's a "reimagining" meaning the mythology is not what you're expecting. You'll have to watch to find out what that means! Starring Boyd Holbrook, with Kelly Reilly, Alistair Petrie, Roxane Duran, Nigel Betts, Stuart Bowman, Simon Kunz, and Amelia Crouch. I caught this last year and it's solid,...

Some movies revel in mysteries so well that they don’t require solutions. French director Lucile Hadzihalilovic’s “Evolution” provides an ideal example. Ten-year-old Nicolas (Max Brebant) spends his days in an isolated seaside hospital, along with several other children, all of whom are subjected to an alarming medical process. His mother, and the other women who tend to the boys, obscure the reasons behind the confined setting. When Nicolas spies on them after dark, he gets no closer to answers — but the puzzle pieces gradually congeal into a pileup of transgressive sexuality, body horror and strange laboratory experiments. Nicolas doesn’t put it all together, but as he learns to look harder, he takes action against the ominous events around him. It’s the year’s wildest coming of age story.
Buried in the Vanguard section of the Toronto International Film Festival last year, “Evolution” defies simple categorization. Hadzihalilovic...

As we slowly near the end of the year, more and more films are not only vying for the attention of critics and awards voters alike, but even the smallest of pictures are hoping to find some sort of foothold with audiences, no matter how niche the group may actually be. That’s exactly the case for director Lucile Hadzihalilovic and her newest and arguably best film, Evolution.
Despite having IFC and their side brand IFC Midnight behind their release both in theaters and eventually on VOD (likely where this film will garner it’s widest audience), Evolution is an absolutely superb drama but one that is so singular it verges on the mysteriously esoteric. The film tells the story of Nicolas (Max Brebant), who lives in a seaside village whose only inhabitants are pre-teen boys and adult women. However, their modest lives are upended when a young boy washes...

The full cast includes Roxane Duran, Julie-Marie Parmentier, and Mathieu Goldfeld. This definitely looks weird and freaky and confusing, but still mesmerizing to watch, with plenty of "haunting, otherworldly images of a nightmare." Take a look. Here's the second official trailer for Lucile Hadzihalilovic's Evolution, direct from IFC's YouTube: The only residents of young Nicholas's seaside town are women and boys.

Below, you can find a rundown of 12 upcoming horror films,...
