Panic! at the Disco’s Brendon Urie Parties a Little Too Hard with Pete Wentz in ‘Sugar Soaker’ Video
Panic! at the Disco wants to be the life of the party. But with Brendon Urie as their only representing member in the music video for “Sugar Soaker,” the band’s chances of earning that title from their fellow party goers are looking pretty slim.
The Brendan Walter-directed video is packed with cameos – from Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz to Betty Who and Viva Las Vengeance collaborators Mike Viola and Jake Sinclair – filling up a Seventies-themed summer party around the pool. It’s all the more people for...

Viva Las Vengeance! As Panic! at the Disco released its seventh studio album, the group’s frontman Brendan Urie starred as “the Duke” in the choreo-filled, medieval times-themed video for “Sad Clown.”
The Brendan Walter-directed video sees Urie showing off his best dance moves and belting musical theater-ready vocals for a large powdered wig-wearing crowd. A character named Maggie (seemingly the subject of the new album’s song “Something About Maggie”) then joins as the queen, challenging Urie and his crew to a dance battle.

Panic! at the Disco get their feelings all tangled up on “Middle of a Breakup,” the latest offering from their upcoming album, Viva Las Vengeance, out Aug. 19 via Fueled by Ramen/DCD2 Records.
“Middle of a Breakup” is a blast of high-energy power-pop (there’s even a little synth riff on the bridge that seems to nod to Cheap Trick’s “Surrender”) with lyrics that find Brendon Urie trying, but failing, to end a tumultuous relationship: “Keep your disco, gimme T. Actor Adam Devine tries some maniacal and ethically dubious psychotherapy techniques in the new video for Weezer’s “California Snow.”
The track appears in the new film, Spell, about an illustrator who goes to Iceland after the sudden death of his fiancée and finds himself on an increasingly supernatural — or possibly just psychological — journey. The new clip boasts footage from the film, but it also finds Spell star and director Brendan Walter (who also helmed the clip) working through his grief with a peculiar therapist played by Devine.

Magnet Releasing, the genre arm of Magnolia Pictures, has acquired global rights to “Wrinkles the Clown,” Variety has learned.
Directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Michael Beach Nichols (“Welcome to Leith”), the film is eyeing an Oct. 4 theatrical release. The documentary looks at a creepy clown who is hired to terrify misbehaving children in Southwest Florida. Wrinkles went viral after a silent black and white surveillance video was uploaded to YouTube, depicting a child sleeping peacefully before a disheveled old man disguised as a clown slid out from beneath her bed. That led to an outpouring of similar videos and the creation of an internet sensation that rivals Pennywise in sheer, malevolently cheery creepiness.
“Michael has concocted an incredibly unsettling film evocative of urban legend classics like ‘Slender Man’ and ‘The Blair Witch Project,’” said Magnolia President Eamonn Bowles. “From Pennywise to the Joker, creepy clowns have terrified people for decades. ‘Wrinkles the Clown...

Forty feature films including 24 world premieres highlight the official La Film Festival competition lineup in the fest’s move into the crowded fall festival corridor, away from their previous early-summer perch.
Among the movies in competition is the highly regarded Swedish film Border (Grans) from director Ali Abbasi, a Neon pickup out of Cannes that took the top prize in that festival’s No. 2 competition, Un Certain Regard. It is listed as a “California Premiere,” which means it likely will show up first in Telluride, Toronto or both before Laff, which runs September 20-28. It will play in the World Fiction Competition across a field of categories that also include U.S. Fiction, Documentary, La Muse, Nightfall. Short Films, and Episodes: Indie Series from the web.

Fall Out Boy is taking us behind the scenes of their brand new single, "Young and Menace."
Only Et has your exclusive look at the making of the music video, in which lyricist Pete Wentz explains exactly what inspired the song.
"The concept of the video is realizing that your place in the world is maybe not just what you thought it is, or thought it was growing up," he says. "I grew up as a weird kid in a place where I felt like I didn't fit in. It wasn't until finding punk rock and stuff, that I felt like I found other people who similarly felt like they didn't fit in."
The video, directed by Brendan Walter and Mel Soria, follows a young girl with monsters for parents as she struggles with her identity.
"Anybody knows what it's like to feel like they don't belong and have to fight for a place in the world...
