Great American Family today unveiled the 18 all-new original movies premiering as part of the network’s holiday programming franchise, Great American Christmas.

The annual programming event returns on Friday, October 21, with original Christmas movie premieres every weekend, and Christmas movies 24/7, all-day and all-night, through the end of the year.

The expanded slate of 18 new titles represents a 50 increase in the network’s holiday movie offering in year two and further establishes the brand as a destination for original Christmas movies.

Warner Brothers has released a promo for Rampage, starring Dwayne Johnson‘s muscles. The film is directed by Brad Peyton, with a screenplay by Ryan Engle and Carlton Cuse & Ryan J. Condal and Adam Sztykiel (that’s a mouthful) from a story by Ryan Engle, which based on the video game Rampage. This new promo does feature a few new bits of monster-on-monster action, but it’s pretty much attempting to use Johnson as the major selling point in this seemingly final trailer for the film. Even though Rampage recently saw it’s release date move forward a week in response to Infinity War doing the same, the film still seems poised to enjoy two weeks atop the box office.

What impresses me the most about this promo is that while cheeky at times, it serves to establish the tone of the film very well, especially when you include the self-shot footage by Johnson.

The massive monsters from Midway's video game franchise will be stomping into theaters one week early in the Us.

Directed by Brad Peyton (San Andreas) and starring Dwayne Johnson, Rampage is now slated for an April 13th release from Warner Bros., bumping it up from its April 20th release, likely to give it more time in theaters before Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War comes into theaters a week earlier than expected on April 27th. We recently posted the second official Us trailer for this action movie just last week, but it's cool to see the new Japanese trailer, which comes with a fun intro from Johnson talking about kaiju (seriously). The title in Japanese is actually Rampage: Big Big Brawl, and I like that this trailer is only 60 seconds of pure action non-stop from start to finish. Short and sweet, gets right to it. The full cast of Rampage includes Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Malin Akerman, Joe Manganiello, Naomie Harris, Marley Shelton, Jake Lacy, Breanne Hill, Jack Quaid, Joey Thurmond, and P.J. Byrne. There's not much of a plot to talk about, because it's mostly just about giant monsters smashing up a city and humans trying to stop them.

If you’re into Dwayne Johnson standing against computer-generated cityscapes watching giant computer-generated monsters fight, then ‘Rampage‘ is definately for you. Although this trailer does a better job of selling the tone than the first, i’m still hesitant to think that this will be anything more than schlock popcorn cinema at it’s finest. At least the film seems to be having a fun time, but who knows?

Further solidifying himself as one of the most bankable men in all of Hollywood, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson returns with Rampage, a big screen adaptation of the classic arcade game that’s seen a few sequels in the time since its original release. Granted, it’ll see some stiff competition in a year chock full of other blockbusters, but it does look like a lot of fun and stands a very good chance of attracting a fair amount of moviegoers.

Evidencing this is yet another trailer that follows hot on the heels of one that wowed us just last month. To be honest, I had to separate myself from thinking that a fan had mashed up footage from Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Kong: Skull Island for a moment, but ended up enjoying the footage for what it is.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has come up against some pretty formidable threats in his cinematic career – corrupt secret agents, Vin Diesel and the script for Baywatch…to name but three.

But in April, the former WWE megastar will be left facing an apocalyptic scenario like no other, as New Line’s Rampage is about to pummel its way into theaters. Loosely inspired by Midway’s arcade classic of the same name, the story of Rampage follows three super-sized creatures who wage war in Chicago, leaving Johnson’s primatologist Davis Okoye with little choice but to gear up and save the gorilla he once knew as George.

There is one possible snag, though; thanks to the genetic engineering conducted by the Griffin Technologies Group, George is now the size of a building, which ought to result in some pretty incredible spectacle when projected onto the silver screen.

Tomb Raider isn’t the only video game adaptation coming down the pipeline this year. Rampage, which is based on Midway’s arcade classic, has officially set up shop at New Line and will star Dwayne Johnson as a primatologist named Davis Okoye, “a man who keeps people at a distance and shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth.”

Indeed, George is one of three animals to be grossly mutated as a result of a genetic experiment gone horribly, horribly wrong. A lizard and wolf are also in line to become hulking rage monsters, for those keeping track, and it seems that Johnson’s Okoye will have his hands full dealing with them all.

The movie isn't going to win any awards or anything, but I liked what I saw in the trailer and I think fans of the classic game might like what they see. Since 1986, video gamers have been destroying cities on the screen with Midway's lovable massive monsters known as George, Lizzie, and Ralphie. In New Line Cinema's new movie Rampage, we'll see that world of colossal creatures brought to life on the big screen, and the first trailer for the film promises plenty of large-scale action with Dwayne Johnson on the front lines of the creature-centric carnage.

Coming to us by way of Screen Rant, the pic arrived bearing the caption: “We have a problem. The beasts survived.” Note that that’s ‘beasts’ plural, and we know from previous story-related reveals that Brad Peyton’s monster movie will feature three primary creatures: a wolf, an alligator, and an albino gorilla called George that have all been mutated beyond recognition by the nefarious suits at the Griffin Technologies Group.

Last week, Rampage started production, with Dwayne Johnson unveiling the first set photo featuring his character David Okoye. As filming continues, the actor showcased another set photo that has his character along with Naomie Harris as they are hauled away in handcuffs by the military. Aquaman isn’t the only 2018 tentpole easing into production – Rampage, the video game adaptation of Midway’s arcade classic, has officially set up shop at New Line, and we now know Dwayne Johnson’s character to be a primatologist named Davis Okoye.

News comes hand-in-hand with the first set picture featuring The Rock standing alongside the “extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla” known as George – or, rather, Jason Liles, the 6’9 motion-capture expert who will be bringing the infected simian to life on set. Indeed, George is one of three animals to be grossly mutated as a result of a genetic experiment gone horribly, horribly wrong – a lizard and wolf are also in line to become hulking rage monsters, for those keeping track – and recent revelations have identified Malin Akerman and Jake Lacy’s twisted siblings as the human adversaries of Rampage.

The theaters these days are filled with re-makes, live adaptations of classic animated films and video game adaptations. The next one on the list going into production is the classic video game Rampage, by Bally Midway who sold the rights to Warner Bros. Pictures. This game was released in 1986 in which players controlled one of three giant monsters and attempted to destroy a city before they were taken out by military forces. Over the weekend, Dwayne Johnson took to social media to offer new plot details about his Rampage movie, hinting that production was starting soon in Georgia. Earlier today, the actor took to Instagram and Facebook to share a new set photo from Rampage, featuring our first look at his character, who he described as the head of an "anti-poaching unit" based in Rwanda, along with his best friend George, a massive ape played through motion capture by Jason Liles. Based on the Midway video game franchise of the same name, the Rampage movie kicked off production today in Atlanta, and New Line Cinema shared the official synopsis for the adaptation that stars Dwayne Johnson, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and colossal creatures paving a path of destruction across the Us.

With the exception of 2015, when the only high-profile creature feature to claw its way out of Hollywood arrived in the form of Krampus, over the past few years moviegoers have been treated to a fairly diverse melange of monster movies. Exactly one week ago today, Dwayne Johnson announced that production started on his video game adaptation Rampage, which New Line has set for release on April 20, 2018. Some new details have surfaced for Dwayne Johnson's new film project Rampage and they actually give us some story info. Up until this point, we've only had the plot of the classic Midway video game to go off of, which follows three people who are transformed into giant monsters that include a gorilla, a wolf, and a Godzilla-like lizard. Together they will wreak havoc on North American cities and landmarks and Johnson is the only person that can stop them.

The new plot details that have been revealed come from Splash Report, and they offer us a different take on the story as well as give us some new info regarding the characters that the actors play in the film. Some of those other actors include Malin Akerman, Jake Lacy, and Naomi Harris. Here's what the site says:

Morgan is said to play a character named Agent Russell, "who works for a covert government division called Oga and rolls with serious swagger and attitude." This seems like a character he can have fun with. Morgan is oozing with swagger and attitude. He'll obviously be leaving his barbed wire-encrusted-baseball bat behind for this movie, but I'd seriously love to see him use it to beat the hell out of the giant monsters that the movie will center around!
