Frederick Ely Gourgue was born in New York but grew up in South Florida for most of his childhood. He now works in the motion picture industry across the U.S. as well as internationally. Frederick studied photography in Kansas and later studied political science and film in Southern California before beginning his career. He also ran cross country, pole vaulted, and sailed competitively in regattas.
