New York Television Festival Receives Record High Submissions
2016 has been a banner year for the New York Television Festival. The Duplass Brothers-produced “Animals” pilot, which won Best Comedy at the festival in 2013, landed a two-season deal over at HBO. Ben Silverman will also serve as executive producer. The story follows a risk-averse, straight-arrow, female procurement manager at an Amazon-like distribution center who falls in love with a freewheeling man who lives life to the fullest.
