Rutger Hauer & High Stakes Billiards in Official Trailer for 'The Break'
Michael Rapaport, Muse Watson, Stacy Keach, Paul Adelstein, Barbara Eve Harris, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Leon Russom, Wade Williams, Amaury Nolasco, and Marshall Allman in Prison Break (2005)
"What's the point in having talent if you keep it for yourself." Conduit Presents has released an official US trailer for a film titled The Break, also known as just Break when it was first released in the UK last year. An inner-city kid and gifted pool player named Spencer, wasting his talents on crime, gets in over his head until a chance encounter with a stranger presents him with an opportunity to turn his life around. But is it too late? He'll only succeed if he can break away from his biggest problem: himself. The Break stars Sam Gittins, Rutger Hauer, Jamie Foreman, David Yip, Adam Deacon, and Luke Mably. This is a very strange trailer, but perhaps there's something worthwhile in this. Not often we get billiards films anymore. Here's the official US trailer (+ new poster) for Michael Elkin's The Break, direct from YouTube: Spencer (Sam Gittins), a gifted pool player,...

‘Break’ DVD Review

Stars: Sam Gittins, Rutger Hauer, Luke Mably, David Yip, Jamie Forman, Adam Deacon, Sophie Stevens, Teri Dwyer | Written and Directed by Michael Elkin

I have been saying for a while now that the British independent film scene is ablaze with a plethora of talent… A veritable smorgasbord of directors, actors, DOPs, writers and producers are currently cutting their teeth out there as streaming and VOD make it way more accessible for us as viewers to find these works. Which has meant the creators are finding smarter ways of utilizing what they have at their disposal and how to make a small budget movie look like it belongs on the cinema wall along side whatever multi-hundred million dollar blockbuster is currently showing and you know whats happening? They are proving that they have way more style and so much more substance. It’s a damn good time to be a fan of British indie cinema.

Stars: John Rhys-Davies, Rosie Fellner, Tanya Franks, Theo Devaney, Paul Reynolds, Jack Derges, Gary Mavers, Sally Mortemore, Tristam Summers, James Fisher, Michael Elkin | Written by John Adams, Peter Adams | Directed by John Adams

I’m not sure if I should be surprised or not but there seems to be quite a few World War II zombie movies, or movies that can kind of be linked to World War 2 and the undead – there’s definitely enough for it to be called a sub genre on its own. So Soldier of War (aka Aux) can be added to Dead Snow, Overlord, Outpost, Frankenstein’s Army and a myriad more.

Soldier of War is a British film and it, like many of its kind, feels very British. From the police uniforms to the woodland and countryside to the accents; it will be very familiar to people from the U.K. and horror fans...
