Blind Filmmaker Adam Morse Set to Be Subject of Feature Documentary ‘Blind Ambition’ (Exclusive) – Global Bulletin
Image
Documentaries

Filmmaker Adam Morse, who directed Billy Zane-starrer “Lucid,” is set to get in front of the camera in a new documentary, titled “Blind Ambition,” about his career. The unscripted project, directed by Ukrainian-British filmmaker Julia Varvara, will follow Morse’s journey from losing his eyesight at the age of 19 due to the incurable condition Lebers Hereditary Optic Neuropathy to shooting a SuperBowl commercial earlier this year. Among other achievements, Morse has walked the runway at London Fashion Week and did his own stunts in AppleTV+’s “See.”

Morvara Entertainment is co-producing the doc with Abrupt Films. Rocky Mudaliar produces. “This documentary is more than just a film, it’s a powerful message for people everywhere to stay positive and be more determined,” says Varvara.

Image
Tiger Leaping To Holiday Frame

India’s Yash Raj Films has set a mid-November release date ahead of the Diwali holidays for “Tiger 3,” its anticipated spy-action film starring Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi. Holiday complexities have caused the company to devise what it called a “strategic and unique release plan.”

Having previously only released teaser footage, Yrf has now also unveiled a full trailer.

Unusually, the film will open in Indian and international theaters on a Sunday – Nov. 12.

“2023 is the year of ‘Adhik Maas’ which has led to complications regarding festival dates. This year, Monday, Nov. 13 is New Moon/Amavasya and the Govardhan Pooja/Gujarati New Year falls on Nov. 14. Bhai Dooj is on November 15, giving the film an extended run in this crucial holiday period which will aid in collections through the week,” said Yrf.

Directed by Maneesh Sharma (“Band Baaja Baaraat”), the film is the...

Alia Bhatt in Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022)
Already a massive hit in India, where it is the fifth-highest grossing film of 2022, “Gangubai Kathiawadi” is director-cowriter Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s rendering of a real-life tale of an Indian activist born into brothel culture who went on to become a notable social crusader known as Gangubai Kothewali (among other names). The film, cowritten with Utkarshini Vashishtha, is a panoramic look at a most unusual life, told in long takes and epic form.

“Alia is Exceptional In Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi – It is Beyond A Masterpiece” – A Subhash K Jha Review
Image
Gangubai Kathiawadi

Music and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali

A very young very pained girl face is being painted, prepared for something not very pleasant. She is grimacing and to add to her pain a firm hand holds her face, stuffs her mouth with a cloth and pierces her nose with something as sharp as the dialogues of this film. She smiles, she laughs, she dances, she bullies her enemies and berates her friends… But her eyes remain ceaselessly swathed in sorrow.

I have never witnessed a performance more heroic...
