Fox Sports 1 will shake up its morning schedule following the exit of hot-talk host Skip Bayless, charting a new era in its bid to vie with Disney’s ESPN.

Two new shows, “Breakfast Ball” and “The Facility,” will anchor mornings on the cable network, starting in the fall. They lead into FS1 mainstays “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” and “First Things First” in afternoons. “Speak,” a retooled program, will air afterwards.

Craig Carton, a New York sports media personality who was rehired by Wfan three years ago after his gambling addiction landed him in prison for fraud, is leaving the radio station to focus on his deal with Fox Sports.

Addressing listeners of the Audacy-owned station Thursday afternoon, Carton said, “Today is a happy day and a very sad day for me.” His decision to leave at the end of June came down to lifestyle and his family, he explained. “It has nothing to do with anybody here,” he said. “It has everything to do with me and my personal life, and the opportunity that I have with Fox Sports to do a show on Fox Sports 1.”

Fox Sports set a deal with Carton last fall, with a morning show launching on FS1. The contract is reportedly worth multiple millions.

With parent company Warner Bros Discovery looking to make use of every pixel of promotional real estate, the notion of plugging the Game of Thrones prequel during a widely viewed live event like the Major League Baseball playoffs isn’t a surprise. Fox, after all, has pioneered the notion of wedging network pom-pom moments into its fall baseball coverage. But what mostly soured a vocal assortment of viewers and media watchers was the way the plug was executed.

Bob Costas, who was handling play-by-play duties, introduced the 40-second bit with a setup that was deadpan but resonated to some as earnest, especially among Yankee fans living in a city that has been the epicenter of a number of actual emergencies.

Craig Carton is back at Wfan, three years after his arrest for running an illegal ticketing scam.

He will officially rejoin the New York City area sports radio station on Nov. 9, where he will partner with Evan Roberts for the mid-afternoon show from 2-7 p.m. Et. Roberts’ longtime co-host, Joe Beningo, announced his retirement earlier this week.

Carton was arrested in 2017 by the FBI and charged with conspiracy, wire fraud and securities fraud. He resigned from Wfan shortly after, where he and former NFL quarterback Boomer Esaisan hosted their popular morning show. Carton ended up serving a year in prison and was released in June.

During the documentary, the former “Boomer and Carton” host — who was recently released from prison for his involvement in a multimillion-dollar ticket-resale pyramid scheme — said he was repeatedly sexually abused at a sleep-away camp as a child.

But “Wild Card” goes the teaser route with that bit of information, with Carton initially vaguely mentioning childhood “trauma” before going into detail a bit later in the feature-length film. The time between setup and payoff, if we may borrow terms generally used for far less serious matters, may make viewers feel like they may not get specifics — but boy, do they.

“Wild Card” charts the rise and bizarre fall of prominent New York sports-radio personality Craig Carton, the host of former Wfan 660 morning show “Boomer & Carton.” His running mate from that No. 1 program, former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason, is prominently featured in the doc — as are several of Carton’s other colleagues from those days on top.

Through a series of first-person interviews with Carton and others, the film reveals how the radio host’s secret insatiable gambling addiction — financed by an illicit ticket-broking business — brought his career to a sudden halt when he was arrested by FBI agents and charged with conspiracy, wire fraud and securities fraud on Sept.

Craig Carton, a figure of some New York renown who used to host a popular morning show on Wfan and CBS Sports Network, was sentenced to 42 months in prison by a federal judge Friday for perpetrating a massive ticket fraud.

Facing millions in gambling debts, which he blamed on an addiction to betting, Carton took part in a scheme that defrauded ticket buyers of $7 million. He had promised victims VIP tickets to sporting events and concerts. Instead of making good on the ducats, he used the proceeds to pay his debts and personal expenses. After his arrest in 2017, he resigned from Wfan. After initially insisting he was innocent of all charges and pleading not guilty, he was convicted last fall.

Mike Francesa, for decades the leading voice of New York sports via his longtime afternoon drive perch on all-sports pioneer Wfan, is kicking off a new digital chapter.

In partnership with with CAA Sports and Entercom, Francesa is launching a subscription service on Friday that complements his daily Wfan show, Mike’s On. The app will offer subscribers a streaming video version of Mike’s On, though the radio show will still be available for free. It will also have exclusive extras, including football-themed shows on Saturday and Sunday, quick online-only takes as news warrants and the “Francesa 50,” a preview and recap of the biggest sports events on the calendar.

Along with partner Michael Wright, the 48-year-old New Jersey 101.5 FM alum is accused of stealing $2 million dollars from investors.
