Exclusive: Utopia has set a theatrical release for Robert Schwartzman’s Hung Up on a Dream: The Zombies Documentary with special event screenings on May 12 in several cities –Washington D.C., Boston, Austin, Pittsburgh and Seattle– followed by full theatrical engagements in NY and LA on May 16 respectively at the Quad Cinema and Landmark NuArt Theatre.

The film, which premiered at SXSW 2023, traces the remarkable journey of iconic British rock band The Zombies—from teenage friends to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees.

Guitarist Randy Bachman of the ’70s rock band Bachman-Turner Overdrive is the focus of the 2024 documentary Takin’ Care of Business. The Canadian band scored success with hits including “Takin’ Care of Business,” “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet,” “Let It Ride,” and “Roll On Down the Highway,” and hit #1 on the charts with their 1974 album Not Fragile.

Bachman left the band, which originally consisted of bassist Fred Turner, drummer Robbie Bachman, and guitarist Blair Thornton, in 1977. Since then, there have been multiple iterations of the group. In 2009, Randy Bachman and Fred Turner formed Bachman & Turner, and in the fall of 2023, Bachman-Turner Overdrive reunited for a tour.

Writer/director Tyler Measom’s new documentary, which will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, focuses on Randy Bachman. Randy, along with Tal Bachman, KoKo Bachman, Lorelei Bachman, Bannatyne Bachman Matson, Takeshi Kaneda, and William Long, are featured in the behind-the-scenes look at the rocker’s life.

Robert De Niro’s film legacy is being toasted for his 80th birthday in 2024.

During the annual Tribeca Festival, which will take place June 5 through 16, will be an inaugural De Niro Con celebration of the Oscar winner’s filmography. Auteurs Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, and David O. Russell will revisit their collaborations with De Niro for panel discussions post-screenings, while De Niro’s former co-stars Christopher Walken, Billy Crystal, and more are set to add to the celebrations.

The three-day tribute will take place at Spring Studios from June 14 through 16. De Niro Con is powered by Webex Events, allowing fans to download an exclusive app to make the most of their Con experience.

The move is an elevation for Suckle, who has been working with Roven since 1992 when he first joined the producer as his assistant.
