Netflix’s new Indonesian drama series, Losmen Bu Broto, goes for a bittersweet ending, as not all the aspirations and dreams of the characters are fulfilled in the exact sense by the end, although they learn important lessons in accepting their fates and making their lives as happy as possible. The most integral part of the plot in this series is the romance of Anna and Tarjo, which makes both their lives very difficult eventually, and it seems almost impossible that they can be together anymore. Meanwhile, the other characters, including Tarjo’s elder sisters, as well as the charming helper at the guesthouse, Atmo, have their own individual developments. This article briefly discusses each of the characters’ fates and also the possibility of whether Losmen Bu Broto can return with a 2nd season.

Set in the same universe as Denis Villeneuve's Oscar-winning movie franchise, Dune: Prophecyis a prequel series that aired on HBO and Max last year to generally positive reviews. The network moved quickly to renew the epic action series for Season 2 before the finale, and it seems the big-budget production will begin rolling cameras sooner rather than later. Dune: Prophecy takes place 10,00 years before the events of the film series and follows the origins of the Bene Gesserit, a super-powered sociopolitical and religious entity with far-reaching influence across the galaxy.
During an interview with Collider, Dune: Prophecy star Josh Heuston, who portrays Constantine Corrino in the show, revealed that Season 2 will begin filming this August and continue until the end of the year. There is no release date yet, but fans can probably expect the show to return on HBO and Max sometime in 2026. For reference, the first season took...

Warning: Spoilers for Dune: Prophecy
The latest prequel series in the massive Dune franchise details the origins of the Bene Gesserit and chronicles the early steps the secretive sisterhood took in steering the trajectory of the Imperium from the shadows. Unlike Denis Villeneuve’s films, Dune: Prophecy takes place in the worlds beyond Arrakis and its desert sands. In fact, there’s hardly a worm in sight. What the series does possess is an array of various villains, all vying for ultimate control and power. In the show’s first episode, viewers were introduced to Desmond Hart (Travis Fimmel), who heartlessly used his “gift” to murder Lord Pruwet Richeseand (Charlie Hodson-Prior) and is believed to have done the same to Reverend Mother Kasha Jinjo (Jihae). As such, he’s clearly the primary villain of the series, or so viewers might have initially thought.

Episode 2 of Dune: Prophecy closed out with a face-off between what are widely viewed as the show's most interesting characters, and it looks like the shocking developments that followed have taken their toll on Mother Superior Valya Harkonnen (Emily Watson).
Spoilers follow.
Towards the end of "Two Wolves," Valya returned to Salusa Secundus to find herself confronted by the enigmatic Desmond Hart (Travis Fimmel), who had previously admitted to using his strange pyrotechnic abilities to murder both Revered Mother Kasha (Jinhae) and the young Pruwet Richese (Charlie Hodson-Prior).
Upon learning that Hart - who apparently survived being swallowed by a sandworm on Arrakis - had made it his mission to wipe out the Sisterhood entirely, Valya uses "the Voice" to command the soldier to plunge his own dagger into his throat. Incredibly, Hart manages to resist the order.
"I always wondered what your greatest fear would be," he responds. "Now I have seen it.

Desmond Hart is perhaps the most intriguing character so far in Dune: Prophecy, played by Travis Fimmel, who perfectly embodies the seasoned warrior. In addition to Fimmel, the cast of Dune: Prophecy includes Emily Watson, Mark Strong, and Jodhi May. In just the first two episodes of Dune: Prophecy, Fimmel's Desmond successfully persuades Strong and May's characters, the Emperor and Empress of the Imperium, to side with him. On the other hand, Desmond also frightens Watson's Valya Harkonnen, the powerful Mother Superior of the Bene Gesserit.
In Dune: Prophecy episode 1, Desmond is introduced as a warrior who has done several tours on the desert planet Arrakis, the only survivor of a recent attack on the desert planet. However, it is later revealed that Desmond was swallowed by a sandworm following the attack. Somehow, Desmond managed to survive and reveals his mysterious new power at the end of Dune: Prophecy...

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Dune: Prophecy episode 2!Dune: Prophecy showrunner Alison Schapker has explained episode 2's Water of Life predecessor, revealing why the choice was made to differentiate it from the movie rendition. In Dune: Prophecy episode 2, Tula Harkonnen (Olivia Williams) asks one of her students, Lila (Chloe Lea) to unlock her genetic memory, attempting to investigate who killed Kasha (Jihae) in the previous episode. To do this, she uses Rossak poison, an ancient predecessor to the Water of Life used by the Bene Gesserit during the Dune movies.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Schapker explained how Dune: Prophecy's use of Rossak poison as a Water of Life predecessor came from the books. This post contains spoilers for the latest episode of "Dune: Prophecy."
It'd be the understatement of the century to say that "Dune" lore is not for the faint of heart. Spanning millennia (both before and after the birth of Paul Atreides), various adaptations of author Frank Herbert's sci-fi touchstone over the decades have barely even scratched the surface of what this rich, sprawling in-universe history has to offer -- and that includes both of Denis Villeneuve's well-received blockbusters. "Dune: Prophecy" represents the next step to further flesh out this world, which was on display as early as last week's premiere episode and its depiction of the Butlerian Jihad. Episode 2, titled "Two Wolves," keeps that trend going. This time, however, it does so by adding some much-needed clarity to what might be one of the more confusing aspects of the recent movies.

“Dune: Prophecy” is picking up the pace in Episode 2 — and gradually revealing more about the show’s villain (and antihero).
After expositional duty and climactic finale to Episode 1, “Two Wolves” is distinctly more focused, written by Kor Adana and directed by John Cameron. All the key characters on Wallach IX and Salusa Secundus are wrapped up in the aftermath of Pruwet (Charlie Hodson-Prior) and Kasha’s (Jihae) sudden, horrific deaths — and already using others’ grief to manipulate them and steal power.
Valya heads to Salusa Secundus to speak directly with Emperor Javicco (Mark Strong), bringing Sister Theodosia (Jade Anouka) with her to maintain the Sisterhood’s influence on Princess Ynez (Sarah-Sofie Boussnina). Ynez’s fighting instructor and lover, Keiran Atreides, uses the collective shock as a distraction to steal the palace blueprints, because every good space adventure needs stolen blueprints. The new Dune series is a distant precursor to the events of the movies, which reveals how the Bene Gesserit manipulates the Imperium behind the scenes. In an interview with The Direct, actor Jihae, who played Reverend Mother Kasha, explained how Dune: Prophecy expands the lore of the movies. As Truthsayer to the most powerful man in the Imperium, Kasha's role also proved crucial to the clandestine beginnings of the Bene Gesserit.

In the series premiere of Dune: Prophecy, "The Hidden Hand," we meet a number of characters playing their part in the never-ending battle to control the Imperium. Reverance Mother Kasha (Jihae) is the personal truthsayer of the emperor himself (Mark Strong), and is working behind the scenes to get the emperor's daughter Ynez (Sarah-Sofie Boussnina) into a position where she can one day become empress herself. Ynez is sympathetic towards the Bene Gesserit sisterhood, of which Kasha is a part. And the Bene Gesserit are nothing if not self-advancing.
To that end, Kasha has talked the emperor into letting Ynez marry a young boy named Pruwet Richese (Hodson Prior), the heir to a powerful house. By the end of the episode, both Kasha and Preset are dead, burned from the inside out by new arrival Desmond Hart (Travis Fimmel), who wants to lessen the influence of the Bene Gesserit throughout the known universe.

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Dune: Prophecy episode 1.
Dune: Prophecy star Jihae breaks down the disturbing nightmare that Kasha experiences in episode 1. Taking place more than ten thousand years before the birth of Paul Atreides, the HBO series premiered this past Sunday, chronicling the birth of the Bene Gesserit order under Valya (Emily Watson) and Tula (Olivia Williams) Harkonnen. Kasha, Emperor Javicco Corrino's (Mark Strong) Truthsayer, plays an important role in Dune: Prophecy episode 1, and she gets several standout moments, including a nightmare sequence that suggests Ynez's (Sarah-Sofie Boussnina) crowning will serve as the Sisterhood's downfall.
In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Jihae explains Kasha's vision, teasing what it means for the show's future episodes. In addition to teasing that the nightmare is paving the way for some "carnage" to come, the actor also reveals that Ynez's crowning isn't what eventually leads to this dark future. The first episode of Dune: Prophecy has aired on HBO and Max, starting us off on a strange, compelling journey through the Imperium some 10,000 years before the birth of Paul Atreides. It's the Dune we know, it's Dune as we've never seen it, it's a good time in front of the TV.
We've been lucky enough to get to talk to some of the cast and crew members behind the show. That includes Jihae, who plays the Reverand Mother Kasha, a Bene Gesserit sister who is the personal Truthsayer of Emperor Javicco Corrino (Mark Strong) himself, as well as a maternal figure for the emperor's daughter and heir apparent, the Princess Ynez (Sarah-Sofie Boussnina). Kasha resides with the royal family on the imperial planet of Salusa Secundus, which sets her up as someone with a lot of power and influence. But if you watched the opening episode, "The Hidden Hand,...

Building a genre series from scratch is tough. Millions of devoted fans and detailed source material can’t guarantee an audience for shows like “Game of Thrones” or “The Rings of Power” — or for their new cousin, “Dune: Prophecy.”
Developed by Diane Ademu-John and Alison Schapker, this prequel to Denis Villenueve’s “Dune” film series doesn’t require watching either movie. As established in Episode 1, “The Hidden Hand,” written by Ademu-John and directed by Anna Foerster, these events took place more than 10,000 years before Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya found themselves on the planet Arrakis, focused on the mysterious Sisterhood known as the Bene-Gesserit.
Episode 1 is tasked with dense exposition. In the century after mankind defeated technology (“thinking machines”), Valya Harkonnen (Jessica Barden) joins the Sisterhood, a group of “women unafraid of their power.” The Sisters are truthsayers, assigned to powerful houses, and Valya soon becomes a favorite of Mother Superior,...

How do you make one big-budget streaming series stand out from all the rest? Well, ending your premiere on one heck of a shocker is definitely a tried-and-true method to get tongues wagging. We've seen that approach before work like gangbusters on the biggest of all fantasy shows in 2011, when the "Game of Thrones" premiere faithfully recreated one of the most unexpected twists in author George R.R. Martin's novels by having young Bran shoved out of that tower and left for dead. Given how much "Dune: Prophecy" feels indebted to HBO's flagship series, perhaps it's not so surprising to see the show's creative team attempt to recreate a very similar moment ... though by upping the horrific nature of this particular murder.

As we first reported on SFFGazette.com, the review embargo for Dune: Prophecy lifted earlier today and the response to the six-episode HBO series is so far mostly positive. While this is technically a prequel to the Dune movies, Denis Villeneuve isn't involved and the massive time gap means there will be no crossovers.
For the most part, it sounds like Dune: Prophecy is a worthy addition to the sci-fi franchise, even if it doesn't necessarily break the mould. For fans of Villeneuve's groundbreaking movies, that's likely to come as something of a let-down.
In The Hollywood Reporter's review, it's said, "Even though it’s part of a brand, Dune: Prophecy has lots of elements to introduce, and the series is already a slow, sometimes lugubrious build. But I found myself becoming increasingly invested as it went along. Maybe by the end of the first season, I’ll be hooked.

HBO has just dropped the official trailer for Dune: Prophecy (via SFFGazette.com) following a star-studded panel at the New York Comic-Con. It's also been revealed that the six-episode series premieres on Sunday, November 17 at 9pm Et/Pt.
If you're unfamiliar with Frank Herbert's Dune books, you may struggle to make sense of what you see here. There's a great deal of political intrigue, though, with the spotlight put primarily on Bene Gesserit's mysterious origins.
Talking to Screen Rant earlier today, executive producer Allison Schapkey explained how this iteration of the group differs from what we've seen in Denis Villeneuve's Dune movies.
"I think when you see the Bene Gesserit in the films, first of all, you're really seeing their forward face. They cultivate such a mystique, such a mystery. And they're out there being ruthless and decisive and powerful and trying to play every angle and manipulate every possible outcome.
