Road Games (1981)
‘9 Windows’ Exclusive Trailer – ‘Rear Window’ Gets a Modern Day Screenlife Update
Road Games (1981)
“It’s Rear Window… with a twist” is always a fun marketing hook for a horror movie – my personal favorite is 1981’s Road Games, which is essentially Rear Window on the road – and the latest film to put a new spin on the Alfred Hitchcock classic is this year’s 9 Windows.

It’s Rear Window… for the screenlife generation. Exclusively watch the trailer below.

9 Windows will release October 15 on digital and cable VOD.

Written and directed by Lou Simón, the upcoming screenlife horror movie stars William Forsythe, Michael Paré, Diana Garle, Christopher Millan and Jason Hignite.

“On the day of her graduation, Liza and her parents are driving to a restaurant to celebrate when a truck slams into their car. Eighteen months later, Liza is unable to walk and lives alone after her parents’ death. Feeling responsible, Liza spends her days trolling vloggers on a local website. Late one night,...

It may be best known for its pristine beaches, delectable dishes, and mesmerizing music, but for one weekend in August, Miami Beach was a thriving home to horror cinema thanks to the eighth edition of the Popcorn Frights Film Festival. I was honored to once again be invited to be on the jury for this year’s Popcorn Frights...

Anthology film The Profane Exhibit has been in the works for some time now, but things are moving along with casting news for the wrap-around along with more detailed descriptions of the various segments and quotes from a few directors. It's a lot of good stuff so prepare to be here awhile.

From the Press Release:

The producers of “The Profane Exhibit” are excited to announce that both Tony Todd (pictured) and Bai Ling have join the long-awaited horror anthology. They will be featured in the cast of "22 Rue des Martyrs," written by Ray Garton, which serves as the film's wrap-around segment.

David Bond and Manda Manuel are the architects of what is likely the most daring independent horror film project to date, both in concept and scope. Assembling an almost surreal collection of over 100 horror icons (directors, writers, actors, musicians, etc.), Bond's vision is to present the audience with...

Super- 8 Shock Theater at Horrorhound Convention This Weekend
We’re recreating Shock Theater at Horrorhound Weekend March 24th complete with Horror hosts and a Super-8 twist. The original Shock Theater was a package of 52 classic horror films from the Golden Age of Universal Studios that were released to television in 1957, sparking the monster kid craze as well as the launching of Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine. Shock Theater was usually broadcast late at night and introduced by a costumed host who would occasionally interrupt the movie with bad monster puns. Zacherly, Ghoulardi, and Vampira were the most famous of these but there were many local hosts as well.

The original Shock Theater Horror hosts

On Saturday March 24th at the Horrorhound Weekend in Columbus Ohio we’re presenting Super-8 Shock Theater a 4-Hour (!) show of films from the original Shock Theater package screened in condensed form on Super-8 Sound film. The films are abridged version of the classic...

Can You Tell Me How to Get ... How to Get to Psycho Street?
Some trailers focus on grossing you out. The bloody mouths, the stumped limbs, the overall yuck factor of it all. Some trailers focus on sexual deviancy, up-skirt shots, copulating with members of the clergy or fornicating behind a butcher's counter. The ambitious filmmakers behind Psycho Street decided to just go on ahead and throw it all into one pretty extreme trailer. Wow.

Psycho Street is a three-part anthology film starring Tiffany Shepis as the best looking version of the Crypt Keeper we've ever seen, welcoming you to the twisted town of Kronanburg where things ... well, things tend to get fucked up. And even though the film has already been picked up by R-Squared for a 2012 release, we thought you'd like to be the first on your block to take an early look at this intriguing Nsfw (that's Not Safe For Work for you cubicle jockeys prowling the internet on company time) trailer.

Exclusive Nsfw Stills From "Lewis", Part Of The Psycho Street Anthology
Dig on these Exclusive Nsfw Stills that director Anthony G. Sumner, don't show your kids or memaw this shit! Psycho Street is another cool film I'm close to and been following for a long time. The horror anthology has a really cool and insane segment called "Lewis", sounds pretty tame and simple but it'll  shock, floor and possibly offend you, it pushed the envelope as far or futher than anything I've seen in a long time and will probably make you go pray after witnessing the bloody carnage that is "Lewis".

If you've been missing that 70's horror feel then this is what you've been looking for, devil worship, sacrifice, blood, gore and nudity all in one segment! I have a lot of friends invloved with "Lewis" and the entire anthology and I'm happy to see all of this come together!

"Lewis" stars Deneen Melody, Jerry Murdock, Susan Adriensen, Marv Blauvelt,...

Exclusive Bts Images from the upcoming horror film Mother's Blood

One film I'm totally looking forward to is the upcoming horror film Mother's Blood, one of many reasons is because Brian Shirley (hey, that's me!) is a part of the film!  Director Chris Jay is hard at work on production and will  contune shooting all through April.  The film's cast includes  Kitsie Duncan, Heather Dorff, Marv Blauvelt, Erica Soto, Austin Dossey, Jared Degado,  Jacqueline Zediker, Jessica Cameron and  Eligha Whipker. and was penned by Curtis McManus. The film is produced by Chris Jay, Marv Blauvelt, Jason Hignite, Larry McAtee and Kitsie Duncan.  Special thanks goes out to Christy DeBruler!

Plot:

When attractive socialite Vivian (Kitsie Duncan) is involved in a horrible accident that destroys her beauty, she seeks to restore it by making a "deal" with a mysterious gypsy who warns her that by gaining her beauty and losing her deformity, someone close to her must lose theirs....much to...

Recapping Horrorhound Weekend 2011, Indianapolis. It was non-stop Fun!
HorrorHound Weekend 2011, Indy was the most postive and fun I've experienced to date and I've hit quite a few film fests and conventions in my day. I know one thing, they expected 14,000 horror fans and there were more than that. I don't know if there's a final head count yet. Like always, I thought I'd share a few pictures with you and let you a know a little of what went down. I'm proud to say GeekTyrant had a huge presence at this HorrorHound! I want to personally thank Nathan from HorrorHound for letting me be a part of this and Jason Hignite for putting this together and helping to make it happen!

First up, I can' t think of a better way to say "Welcome to HorrorHound Weekend" then have actress and friend Erica Soto standing in front of one of the Hh banners!

Here's the cool Scream 4...

Exclusive Interview: Director/FX Artist Arthur Cullipher Vs. Brian S.
I met Arthur Cullipher in Louisville, Kentucky at the Fright Night Film Fest this summer and have made a friend for life. One of the funniest and nicest guys you'd ever want to meet and he is talented too! He and his Clockwerk Pictures team have created one of the darkest and disturbing short films I've ever witnessed with 'Come', think Lovecraft and R-rated Twilight Zone episode mixed with a little Outer Limits, all on acid and then stuck in a blender, I haven't been lucky enough to witness more from him but I'm sure that day is coming. Arthur is a part of Clockwerk Pictures and even the Dark Carnival Film Fest. He's an FX artist, he writes, directs, produces, even makes action figures and can make you laugh in a second! Check out my latest "Versus" with Arthur Cullipher as he's invited all of us for...
