It has been over a decade since the premiere of MTV's supernatural romance, Teen Wolf, but Dylan O’Brien still holds the project close to his heart. A modern reboot of the Michael J. Foxfilm of the same name, Teen Wolf follows Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) one fateful night after a werewolf bites him. His romance with the daughter of a werewolf hunter, Allison Argent (Crystal Reed), was the crux of the drama, but many will recall that the series wouldn’t have been what it was without O’Brien. In his first official role, the actor played Scott’s best friend, Stiles, who had some of the best quotes and was the heart of the show. Even now, O’Brien still has the classic Beatles shirt Stiles wears in the first episode of the series, as he told Entertainment Weekly.

At a quick glance, the 2013 film Crush looks to be a rehash of the Alicia Silverstone-starring thriller The Crush, except now with a teenager on the receiving end of stalking. However, despite their surface similarities, the two films ultimately diverge in story. Also sweetening that pot of low genre pleasures here is the various depictions of infatuation. For this reason, Crush is more perceptive than its familiar pitch might suggest.
Director Malik Bader and writer Sonny Mallhi combined the tangibility of horror with the psychological intrigue and criminality of thrillers, as is evident from their film’s opening scene. To show it wasn’t playing around, Crush does something that even most horror films would shy away from; it bumps off a child in the first few minutes. Murders him, in fact. The death in question follows a casual chat between young friends, whose adorable activity of “penny for your thoughts” turns deeply ugly.

If there's one thing teen fantasy shows have proven is that, even when you're dead, you can always come back. Teen Wolf has had a series of shocking deaths throughout its run, but, more often than not, it allowed characters to come back.
The iconic MTV fantasy show Teen Wolf premiered in 2011 and ran for six seasons until 2017. The cast and crew reunited for 2023's Paramount+ continuation, Teen Wolf: The Movie, but it also came with a shocking death of fan-favorite character Derek Hale, played by Tyler Hoechlin. During an interview with Screen Rant, Hoechlin revealed whether he'd ever return to reprise his role in the Teen Wolf franchise and gave an enthusiastic answer despite his character's fate.

Michael J. Fox's best-known 80s film may be Back to the Future, but his 1985 comedy film Teen Wolf has had quite the impact itself. Teen Wolf lands on Max this upcoming January.
On January 1st, Fox’s coming-of-age comedy, Teen Wolf, will be available to stream on Max. The film was initially released on August 23rd, 1985, shortly after Back to the Future was released just a month prior, on July 3rd. Directed by Rob Daniel, the original Teen Wolf saw Fox as the titular teen wolf, Scott Howard. In a twist of the typical coming-of-age story, Scott’s life is changed by his newly discovered werewolf form.

After the streaming revolution, the rise of Zoom, and the spread of telemedicine, there’s yet another reason not to leave the house. Actually, two more.
A routine appointment at an aesthetic dermatologist can run you thousands. In Teen Wolf, the supernatural hit series on MTV, Scott McCall is just a regular teenager until he is bitten and turned into a werewolf. With his supernatural abilities, he and his friends fight to protect Beacon Hills from dangerous creatures.
With all manner of shapeshifters and mythical beings converging on Beacon Hills, viewers meet many types of monsters over the series' six seasons. Drawing from various mythology and legends, Teen Wolf created several creatures to instill fear in the McCall pack. The scariest ones were the deadliest and hardest to stop, the ones who challenged the pack, both physically and mentally.

Teen Wolf actor Dylan O'Brien was up for a possible role in Disney and Pixar's Frozen 2, but the casting wasn't meant to be. Though he utterly bombed his audition, O'Brien wasn't exactly surprised, as he went into it feeling like he wasn't going to get the role.
"I knew that I probably wasnt going to get it," O'Brien said during a recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, per THR. "Theyre looking for multitalented, multi-hyphenate people who can act and sing. And I didnt check, to be honest, probably either.

James Dashner's The Maze Runner series has a new adaptation in the works.
O'Brien didn't name the role he was auditioning for in particular, though he noted it would involve singing. Unfortunately, that alone was pretty much a dealbreaker, as O'Brien is, by admission, someone who "can't sing.

When you think of the DC live-action universe, Swamp Thing might not be the first thing that comes to your mind. Sitting somewhere in the back of our minds, Gary Dauberman’s show seems like a distant memory at best. Of course, its tragic fate in the superhero universe might have had something to do with this.

Characters can make or break a TV show. They are the focal point of the plot and, with their storylines and character arcs, convey emotions that keep viewers invested. So, the moment interesting characters disappear without a trace, fans are left wondering what happened.
While actors can leave projects for better offers or personal reasons, most TV shows usually write their characters out of the story by killing them off or explaining away their disappearance. However, some shows forego these options and instead opt to just forget these characters ever existed. The movie will be directed by Logan and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny helmer James Mangold, and Mark Verheiden --- the co-showrunner of the one-season Swamp Thing series --- recently shared how he's excited about what this means for the future of DC adaptations.
"James Mangold, who's a great guy, is apparently working on a Swamp Thing movie, which is great," Verheiden said in a Multiverse of Color interview. "He'll give a great take on it. Malia Tate, played by Shelley Hennig, became an important character in Teen Wolf, bringing much-needed energy to the show after the death of Allison Argent. Malia's growth throughout the series was compelling, as she struggled to reacclimate to society and develop meaningful relationships as a former coyote. In the recent film, Teen Wolf: The Movie, it is revealed that Malia and Scott are no longer dating, leaving potential for new romantic possibilities in future films.

Holland Roden, who played Lydia in Teen Wolf, expressed her passion for returning to the franchise, citing how the show changed her life and introduced her to her best friends. Many fans were disappointed by Stiles' absence in the Teen Wolf movie, leading to criticism of the storyline. A potential new movie could address his absence and provide a more meaningful path for his return. The MTV series Teen Wolf – which was loosely inspired by the 1985 comedy film Teen Wolf (watch our Awfully Good video on that movie Here) – wrapped up its six season run back in 2017, and back in January it got a feature film follow-up on the Paramount+ streaming service. (Read our review of Teen Wolf: The Movie at This Link.) Now Paramount+ is hoping that movie is going to rack up multiple Primetime Emmy Awards nominations.
Variety reports that the streaming service has submitted Teen Wolf: The Movie for Emmys consideration in the following categories: Outstanding Television Movie, Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie (Tyler Posey), Directing (Russell Mulcahy), Writing, Prosthetic Makeup and Original Music and Lyrics (“Lemon” by Tyler Posey).
Since Posey was also a producer on the film, Variety notes that these submissions give him three chances to earn an Emmy nod.

MTV's Teen Wolf is composed of six seasons, with each building on the mythology established in the one before. Loosely based on the 1985 film starring Michael J. Fox, MTV's Teen Wolf has a considerably darker twist toward the supernatural world. The series follows Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) after he becomes a werewolf and has to adjust to the knowledge of the existence of supernatural beings in his hometown of Beacon Hills while growing up. Along the way, he builds an unconventional pack that includes more than just werewolves.
While every season of Teen Wolf does still have plenty of humor, they each get progressively darker as the show deals with more than just physical enemies. Fear and acceptance become major themes in Teen Wolf. In fact, in some of the best seasons of Teen Wolf those themes are some of the most prevalent. Of course, fans might not consider...

While Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game may be about, well, the man who saved the game (Roger Sharpe – played here by Mike Faist), the story also involves a complex supporting lead in the form of his partner Ellen. To mark the film’s release we had the pleasure in speaking to the actress who brings the character to life, Crystal Reed.
Reed talks to us about the importance is having a layered role to work with, and her experience meeting the real life woman the role is based upon. She also talks about collaborating with Faist, and of course, we speak about that moustache. She also looks back over a career that has included credits such as Swamp Thing and Teen Wolf, while looking ahead, and where she hopes her career will take her.

Plot: An unsettled writer with a fantastic mustache, Roger Sharpe, finds solace and confidence in the one thing he has mastered: pinball. When a police raid destroys the only machines he can find in 1970s New York City, he learns the game is illegal. Roger reluctantly joins forces with the Music and Amusement Association to overturn the ban while falling in love with Ellen, an artist and single mother. Roger’s path to save pinball ultimately rescues him. He and Ellen overcome their pasts and take a shot at love. Roger learns what it means to take a chance—and that commitment is the most rewarding gamble of all.
Review: If you are a longtime reader of this website, you may notice we tend to post about pinball machines. Our founder, JoBlo himself, is a huge fan of the game and even served as a producer on a documentary about them called Arcade Dreams.

In the first two seasons of Teen Wolf, Scott and Allison seemed to be the endgame couple of the series, however, after their season 2 breakup, the pair never got back together, before seemingly losing their chance at rekindling forever due to Allison's death. Although Teen Wolf: The Movie defied the odds and brought the power couple back together, questions still remain as to why they didn't reunite earlier. Scott and Allison could have reconciled during Teen Wolf, but did not for reasons both story-based and concerning the real-life actors.

Stunt professional Chris Brewster has had quite a career in stunt work and fight choreography, with an unusually high number of wolf-related credits to his name. Previously working as a stunt man and coordinator on MTV's series Teen Wolf, Brewster would return as the second unit director for 2023's Teen Wolf: The Movie, which is now streaming on Paramount+. He would then make the leap to the same role for the new series Wolf Pack, which also can be seen on Paramount+, with new episodes debuting on Thursdays through March 9, 2023.
Teen Wolf: The Movie continues the story of the Teen Wolf series, with the show's core cast returning, including Tyler Posey, Crystal Reed, Tyler Hoechlin, and many others from the show's werewolf-heavy mythos. Wolf Pack, meanwhile, similarly involves werewolves but establishes its own story and characters. As second unit director for both projects, Brewster goes deep to bring the...

Warning! This article contains Spoilers for Teen Wolf: The Movie. The stars of Teen Wolf are pushing hard for a spinoff, and it's not what you'd expect. Teen Wolf: The Movie recently revived the MTV franchise, which had been dormant since the supernatural drama series ended in 2017. The movie offers the chance to catch up with Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) and his friends, allowing for some adjustments to some of the show's controversial storylines. But on the other hand, the follow-up film also provided some new developments that garnered sharply divided responses.
While not directly setting up a sequel or spinoff, Teen Wolf: The Movie does conclude in a way that leaves the door open for future stories that are set in the same universe. During an appearance on the Howler Back Now podcast, Ian Bohen (who plays Peter Hale) told host and Teen Wolf co-star Holland Roden that he's...

The MTV series Teen Wolf – which was loosely inspired by the 1985 comedy film Teen Wolf (watch our Awfully Good video on that movie Here) – wrapped up its six season run back in 2017, but last month it got a feature film follow-up on the Paramount+ streaming service. (Read our review of Teen Wolf: The Movie at This Link.) And now that Teen Wolf has made its return, stars Tyler Posey and Crystal Reed said they would like to see it keep rolling with feature sequels.
Speaking with Screen Rant, Posey said he wants to work on Teen Wolf: The Movie 2 and possibly more sequels because, “(The Movie) is definitely not the perfect ending. I think it lends itself to more, I want more. I think it would be interesting to now see how they live their lives as adults. We got to see them as teenagers. Teen Wolf: The Movie resolves many loose threads from its parent series, but gives Derek Hall a sad finale - and the set up of his ending his fate all the more tragic. Although the imminent fear of a new threat lurks around Beacon Hills in Teen Wolf: The Movie, many beloved primary characters from the original series come together for a highly anticipated reunion. After making only a few brief appearances since Teen Wolf's season 4, Tyler Hoechlin's Derek Hall, too, joins the movie's roster, and this time as a father figure to a young werewolf named Eli.
Unfortunately, what seems to be the beginning of a new arc for Derek Hale ends a little too soon on a devastating note. In a high-stakes battle against Teen Wolf: The Movie's overarching villain, the Nogitsune, Derek sacrifices his life to save the day.

Warning! Spoilers for Teen Wolf: The Movie!
While Derek’s (Tyler Hoechlin) behavior toward Eli (Vince Mattis) may have seemed overbearing in Teen Wolf: The Movie, it makes sense due to Teen Wolf season 3. Coming-of-age stories that center around Eli’s struggle to find his identity make perfect sense for the teen-centered supernatural drama, but it is a new shift for the movie to see the younger protagonists of the show shift into the parental roles. Derek is a perfect example of how Teen Wolf: The Movie used this shift to the best effect, making his arc both poignant and tragic.

Though based on the original 1985 movie starring Michael J. For what feels like the millionth time, a new official slate of projects exists for the DC Universe. Created by DC Studios co-chair and co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran (along with a slew of veteran writers), the Dcu will introduce a new Superman and Batman to the world, among other, relatively lesser-known characters. One of which is "Swamp Thing," a film that revolves around a longtime DC Comics hero that has not received the big-screen treatment since the late '80s. The upcoming monster flick, which has "Logan" and "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" helmer James Mangold in talks to direct, see the Dcu lean into straight-up horror for the first time, submerging "Swamp Thing" into a genre aptly fit for the supernatural character.
In a slate of refreshingly weird Dcu projects, "Swamp Thing" may just be the most exciting addition. Although we've gotten live-action adaptations before,...

Warning: Contains spoilers for Teen Wolf: The Movie
Teen Wolf: The Movie picks up the story more than a decade after Teen Wolf’s original ending, but the movie would have been much better as a show. Teen Wolf: The Movie brings Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) and most of his pack back together to take on the Nogitsune (Aaron Hendry) once more. Out for revenge, the Nogitsune instigated Allison Argent’s (Crystal Reed) resurrection to tear the pack apart and kill Scott, only to be thwarted by the pack’s belief in one another. Teen Wolf: The Movie’s ending is both tragic and hopeful, as Scott and Allison get a second chance at love, and the next generation of the Hale family is set to take center stage.

Scott McCall and his wolfpack are back in "Teen Wolf: The Movie." The highly-anticipated film - helmed by the show's original creator, Jeff Davis - hit Paramount+ on Jan. 26 - nearly six years after MTV's "Teen Wolf" series aired its finale in September 2017.

Creator Jeff Davis is teasing a possible sequel to Teen Wolf: The Movie starring Derek's son, Eli. A continuation of the popular MTV series, Teen Wolf, the supernatural drama premiered on Paramount+ on January 26. It follows Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) as he travels back to Beacon Hills to assist Chris Argent (Jr Bourne) in carrying out a ritual that would seemingly allow Allison's (Crystal Reed) soul to cross over. However, complications arise when Allison gets brought back to life, along with the Nogitsune, who begins manipulating her. While there was excitement over seeing a number of characters return in Teen Wolf: The Movie, it was a surprise to learn that Derek Hale (Tyler Hoechlin) had a child, and that he played a significant role throughout.
Portrayed by Vince Mattis, Eli spends a majority of the Teen Wolf movie avigating his relationship with Derek and struggles with the idea of being a werewolf.

Teen Wolf: The Movie brought back the original show’s beloved cast of characters to fight a familiar Teen Wolf season 3 villain – the Nogitsune. In Teen Wolf season 3, the Nogitsune was finally defeated by trapping it in a triskelion urn. The Nogitsune had wreaked havoc on Scott McCall’s (Tyler Posey) pack, possessing his best friend Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) and causing chaos along the way, all of which finally resulted in the death of Scott’s first love, Allison Argent (Crystal Reed). In Teen Wolf: The Movie, the Nogitsune is back, determined to take revenge on Scott’s pack, to break them apart, and kill the Alpha werewolf once and for all.

Teen Wolf: The Movie was released on Paramount+, and it's clear the show's creator, Jeff Davis, struggled to balance all the beloved characters' storylines because Malia deserved more. Malia was introduced halfway through Teen Wolf's run and became an essential character. When Scott and Stiles found her, she had been living as a full coyote for eight years, so viewers watched as she adjusted to human life. Warning! Spoilers for Teen Wolf: The Movie. Teen Wolf: The Movie introduces new members to the McCall Pack, but the debut of Hikari Zhang in particular makes Kira Yukimura's (Arden Cho) absence worse. To reignite the franchise, Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) is re-assembling his pack after the Nogitsune return to Beacon Hill — a threat compounded by the mysterious resurrection of Allison Argent (Crystal Reed). Serving as a reunion project for the MTV show, the Teen Wolf movie also brings in some new characters, including Hikari Zhang (Amy Lin Workman). While she is a welcome addition to the McCall Pack, her arrival makes Kira's complicated absence worse.
Over its six-season run, the MTV series had its fair share of character departures. Allison's death in Teen Wolf season 3 stemmed from Crystal Reed's decision to venture out with his career. Tyler Hoechlin and Colton Hayes expressed the same reasoning for their respective exits.

Paramount+ has spooked up two hits with debuts “Teen Wolf: The Movie” and “Wolf Pack,” both of which hail from MTV Entertainment Studios, creator Jeff Davis (who’s under a multi-year deal at the studio) and MGM.
The former — a film revival of the beloved 2011 young-adult supernatural series that reunites a majority of the cast, including stars Tyler Posey and Tyler Hoechlin — broke the streamer’s record for the most-watched original move in the first day of its debut.
The latter, which stars and is executive produced by Sarah Michelle Gellar, marked the platform’s most-viewed YA show since the “iCarly” reboot, making it the No. 2 YA series premiere overall in its first 24 hours.
