Exclusive: Cam Gigandet (Twilight) has signed on to star in the feature Deadly Games.

Gigandet joins the wider ensemble featuring Eddie Hall (The Expendables 4), Shane McCormick (Beneath the Silence), Hannah James (Supergirl), and Megan Lockhurst (The Siege).

Deadly Games follows Dax Cage (Gigandet), a former undisputed Mma champion who returns home after a seven-year prison stint to find his life in ruins. His estranged father wants nothing to do with him, his marriage has crumbled, and his younger step-brother Maverick (McCormick) — once Mma’s most promising star — is barely staying afloat with a newborn on the way. Drowning in debt to London’s most feared loan shark, Maverick is forced into the Deadly Games—a brutal underground tournament offering a £1 million prize.

A lot of children’s stories and beloved characters from children’s stories have been getting the horror treatment lately. Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Popeye the Sailor Man, Bambi, Peter Pan, and more have all become bloodthirsty maniacs… and the latest children’s story to get turned into a horror movie is Aladdin. Deadline reports that Aladdin: The Monkey’s Paw, “a dark, supernatural reimagining of the Aladdin story,” is scheduled to begin filming in the UK next month.

According to Deadline, Terrifier 3 star Bradley Stryker is attached to direct a "dark, supernatural reimagining" of the Arabic folktale from One Thousand and One Nights that Disney famously turned into an animated movie, telling the story of a street urchin who discovers a magic lamp containing a larger-than-life genie. Per Deadline,Aladdin: The Monkey's Paw, a "dark, supernatural reimagining" of the classic folk tale, is set to begin production in the United Kingdom in May. Stryker, who recently starred in the horror hit sequel Terrifier 3, is both starring in and directing the movie. Nick Sagar, Ricky Norwood, and Montana Manning are set to join him in the film. After the Oscar winner announced her fear of the film, and given the current slate of warped horror adaptations of children's classics, it was only a matter of time until Prince Ali was given the gory treatment. Subtitled The Monkey's Paw, this horror reimagining of John Musker and Ron Clements' Disney classic is yet another in a long line of similar examples, from Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey to Mickey's Mouse Trap.

You probably know about a relatively new trend of horror adaptations of popular children’s classics. And while this isn’t something completely new, the number of such films we’ve been seeing in recent years is over the top.

And while most of these films targeted stories that were, at one point or another, adapted by Disney, the majority were actually based on popular children’s classics or fairytales. A new horror adaptation is coming up, and while there is a Disney classic retelling the same story, this one will actually be based on a very old tale.

Production begins in late May 2025, with principal photography taking place in the UK.

Empire Studios, 8th Law Pictures, and Everly Entertainment Production have revealed a major cast expansion and unveiled first looks for their upcoming yuletide action-comedy “Jingle All The Slay” as the film launches worldwide sales.

Joining the previously announced Nick Sagar (“The Princess Switch” trilogy) and Ricky Norwood (“EastEnders”) are Julio Cesar Cedillo (“Sicario”), Adam Korson (“This Is Us”) and U.K. soap star Montana Manning (“Hollyoaks”).

The casting also includes Florence Hall (“The Princess Switch 2 & 3”), Eloise Lovell Anderson (“Villain”), Mark Fleischmann (“Being Human”), Vas Blackwood, Gabriela Ochoa Perez (“FBI”) and Tim Cullingworth-Hudson (“Prizefighter”). Exclusive: Empire Studios and Stryke-Force Films have teamed on the Christmas flick Jingle All The Slay starring Nick Sagar, Ricky Norwood, and Alexa Adeosun.

The film, written by Charley McDougall, is set to begin production in late November. Producers are Jamie McLeod-Ross (The Reckoning), Charley McDougall, Nick Sagar, and Bradley Stryker, with executive producers Arthur Corber, Stryke-Force Films, and Empire Studios. The producers will be selling territories at next week’s AFM.

Exclusive: UK-based AI entertainment company Pigeon Shrine is launching AiMation Studios, which it says is dedicated to a new process it calls “aiMation”, and a slate of AI-driven film and TV projects.

The company says its “synth-assisted production” method uses AI tools and other technologies to streamline workflows, while “also working with human artists to ensure human creativity remains the key driver”.

The company says its visualization period is coupled with AI-powered virtual production which speeds up the production process and means actors come in towards the end of the process. VFX work is carried out earlier in the process than is traditional, the company says, meaning less of a scramble and squeeze at the end of the production process. The “healthier and more equitable” working process means staff at the company only work four days per week, leaders tell Deadline.

Kemp stars as jaded detective John Verney who is on the trail of an ancient cult of Plague Doctors which is cutting a bloody swathe through the London underworld.
