Kevin Feige has just shared that the plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to pivot from the Multiverse Saga's big bad, Kang the Conqueror, started much earlier than previously believed.

It’s hard to remember, but as 2023 began, the plan for Phase Five of the MCU seemed set in stone. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania would be the grand debut of Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, the long-standing time-traveling tyrant of Marvel Comics. A version of him had appeared in the Loki season 1 finale but it was Quantumania that was set to give the primary version of the character a chance to shine.

This would begin the road to the big pay-off to Phase Five, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars. While not confirmed, it’s hinted that this would involve Kang conquering the Multiverse and various heroes coming together to stop him.

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has opened up about the shift from Kang the Conqueror to Doctor Doom as the big villain in the next Avengers movies.

While fans thought the change happened only after Jonathan Majors’ legal troubles made headlines, Feige says the plan to bring in Dr. Doom was already in motion before any of that.

New Avengers: Doomsday art reunites Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to imprison a fan-favorite hero. Downey is confirmed to lead Avengers: Doomsday's cast as Doctor Doom. He now plays the main villain of the McU's Multiverse Saga after Marvel Studios fired Kang the Conqueror actor Jonathan Majors. However, multiple reports claim the Captain America actor will be back in a secret role alongside MCU Peggy Carter actress Hayley Atwell. Evans maintains that he is not in the film, but that has not stopped actors from appearing in Marvel's slate of projects in the past.
