Eyes Of Wakanda Episode 3 Improves On Marvel's Iron Fist In A Major Way
Image
While we've only glimpsed some of the endless (and often dangerous) realities beyond Earth-616, there are still plenty of hidden worlds within the primary reality of the Marvel Cinematic Universe we've yet to discover. Indeed, we get to check out some of them in the animated anthology series "Eyes of Wakanda."

In the show's third episode, worlds collide when a War Dog returns an artifact to Wakanda, only for the Iron Fist of that era, Jorani (voiced by Jona Xiao), to follow him home and attempt to take it back. Naturally, using animation to tell this story allows for much more freedom when it comes to visualizing how the Living Weapon moves and, more importantly, fights. But even after every fist thrown and every kick launched, perhaps the most striking element of the Iron Fist is her appearance -- specifically, the hero's iconic headgear, which has undergone a major change here.

The 15 Best Summer Movies Of All Time, Ranked
Image
The sun is out, the air is humid, and the beach is crowded with tourists and families. Summer is officially here, which, for many of us, means that we're going to spend the next few months not enjoying the great outdoors, but staying inside where there's air conditioning and ice cream. But what should we be watching on our summer movie marathons while everyone else is leaving the TV off to visit water parks and take cross-country trips with their loved ones?

Have no fear! These 15 films may span a wide range of genres -- from comedy to fantasy to even horror -- but they all have one thing in common: They all take place in the summer. The characters might be people looking to get away from their monotonous lives on vacation, or may simply be used to living their life in the summery weather of Los Angeles or Italy.

All 22 Marvel Cinematic Universe TV Shows, Ranked
Image
Since the dawn of "The Avengers" in 2012, Marvel Studios has had its sights set on television. What better way for the rising juggernaut to expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe -- essentially one of, if not the most popular and expensive work of serialized storytelling ever produced -- than to incorporate traditional serialized storytelling into their plans. Not only would this allow them to tell smaller, character-driven stories that would benefit from less spectacle and more screen time, but it would give fans around the world the chance to enter the MCU regularly from the comfort of their own homes.

The results of this project in the decade-plus since its inception have been... mixed, to say the least. Some series have been so moving, innovative, or impactful that they rank among the franchise's best stories to date. Others are so dull, plodding, and unwatchable, that Marvel would probably thank us for not reminding you of them.

One actress spent months in the audition process to play the sequel trilogy character of Rey. Daisy Ridley eventually won the role. However, J.J. She played the role of Jess Pava, an X-Wing resistance pilot who assists in the destruction of Starkiller Base. The character has since appeared in several books and comics. Based on the short comic, "A Eulogy for Snap," it appears the character survives the events of the sequel trilogy.

'Silo' Season 3 Digs Up a Massive Update
Image
We're officially one step closer to stepping back inside Silo 18. Apple TV+ announced via X with a behind-the-scenes photo that filming has wrapped on Season 3 of its critically acclaimed dystopian series Silo starring Rebecca Ferguson. Work isn't done just yet on the Hugh Howey adaptation, though, as the series lead previously teased to Collider and later confirmed that the fourth chapter of Juliette's story will be filming back-to-back with the upcoming season. For those at home, however, it means the countdown is on until the show picks up from where that shocking finale left off. A release date has yet to be set.

Based on Howey's Wool trilogy and helmed by Graham Yost, Silo has centered on the remnants of humanity who have been kept sheltered from the inhospitable conditions outside in deep, suffocating multi-layered facilities known as Silos. The series has primarily followed Juliette Nichols as her investigations...

Silo Season 3 Gets Major Filming Update With BTS Photo Of Rebecca Ferguson
Image
Siloseason 3 completes a major milestone, celebrating the occasion with a photo of star and executive producer Rebecca Ferguson. The Silo season 2 finale begins to explain how the show's dystopian world came to be, referring to a dirty bomb and issues between the U.S. and Iran. It introduced new characters, a reporter and a politician, who will be key to unraveling the story. But the end is not in sight just yet, considering that Apple TV+ has confirmed that the popular Hugh Howey adaptation will end with season 4.

The streamer has confirmed that Silo season 3 has wrapped filming, sharing a photo of Ferguson from behind the scenes. The Golden Globe-nominated actor, who plays Juliette Nichols, can be seen standing in the center of the frame while doing 'rock on' signs with her hands. The show's third installment does not have a release date yet. However, given that filming has concluded,...

Every The Matrix Movie, Ranked From Worst To Best
Image
Short of "Star Wars" and "Star Trek," you'd be hard-pressed to find a science fiction franchise of the modern era more influential than "The Matrix." Did the Wachowskis' 1999 magnum opus take major inspiration from prominent anime and cyberpunk stories? Yes, but it blended those with a distinct philosophical angle, strong style choices, and an approach to action that completely revolutionized the Hollywood blockbuster.

Though the films that followed were more controversial, don't believe the lie that "The Matrix" is the only part of the franchise worth watching. Each piece brings new ideas, memorable moments, and serves a key role in the larger ideological narrative of "The Matrix." They may be less straightforward than the original, but in some ways, that only makes them more intriguing.

Today, we're ranking all of the "Matrix" movies, including the 2003 animated anthology film "The Animatrix." Each is a success in its own right, but some stand taller than others.

One Game Of Thrones Star Clashed With Directors And Stormed Off Set
Image
It stands to reason that with the sprawling cast of big personalities on the HBO series "A Game of Thrones," someone was going to clash with the show's directors. There are dozens of talented performers in major roles and even more in the surrounding cast, and with the difficulties of filming complicated scenes with tons of extras and uncomfortable period costumes, it's honestly shocking there wasn't more conflict on set. One actor took exactly zero guff from anyone, however, and not only beefed with directors but stopped filming when she stormed off of the set: the late Dame Diana Rigg, who portrayed the steely and smart Lady Olenna Tyrell, matriarch of the Tyrell family. While such behavior would be unseemly and frustrating from most actors, when it's an absolute living legend like Rigg, things are a little different. Some of the crew, especially directors, found her intimidating, while some of...

Image
The end is nigh for Blood of Zeus, and bloody it will be. Netflix has released the official trailer for the third and final season of Charley and Vlas Parlapanides's Greek mythology adult animated series that teases tragedy, destruction, and ultimately judgement as the Titans return to take control of the world back from Olympus. Following the Season 2 finale that saw Gaia utter the name of Typhon and welcome back the gods' greatest threat, the stakes are higher than ever for everyone in the world. It'll once again fall to Heron and his brother Seraphim to become the saviors that can stop the annihilation of the order Zeus had once presided over. The final battle will commence on May 8.

Immediately, Blood of Zeus Season 3 wastes no time striking down the gods as the footage opens with the Olympians, including a revived Heron and Seraphim, standing over the bodies of...

Vincent D’Onofrio Is Now Responsible for The Most Violent Death In MCU, Way More Violent Than Thanos Choking Out Loki
Image
Vincent D’Onofrio, as an actor, has played several characters throughout his decades-long acting career. But what he pulled in Daredevil: Born Again was something that shocked everyone and, of course, raised the bar for brutality in the MCU.

Here, he played the role of Wilson Disk, aka Kingpin, who delivers what might be the most violent death we’ve seen in the Marvel Universe so far. Yes, even more brutal than when Thanos choked the life out of Loki in Avengers: Infinity War.

Has the MCU ever gone this brutal before?

Throughout the years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has had its fair share of intense moments, but nothing could have prepared fans for what went down in the last episode of Daredevil: Born Again. Actor Vincent D’Onofrio‘s Wilson Disk, also known as Kingpin, has now delivered the most brutal and violent death the MCU has ever seen. One...

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2 Set the Door Open For Iron Fist’s Return but I Pray to God It’s Jessica Henwick’s Colleen Wing
Image
Okay, Marvel fans, buckle up—because Daredevil: Born Again just dropped a season finale that lowkey screams “Defenders reunion incoming!” Going by the events from the Marvel Comics, Devil’s Reign, the MCU show seemingly followed the storyline that is now set to bring Netflix’s Defenders to join forces with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and defeat Wilson Fisk.

And guess what? It looks like Iron Fist might be punching his way into the MCU. But here’s the thing—I want it to be Jessica Henwick’s Colleen Wing and not Finn Jones’ Danny Rand. I mean, I love the good chi-powered hero but Colleen had the skills, the sass, and the soul we actually rooted for.

So, with Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 wide open for cameos and team-ups, it’s time we give Colleen Wing her long-overdue MCU spotlight.

Daredevil: Born Again set the stage for the Defenders...

Daredevil: Born Again's Season 1 Finale Teases The Beginning Of A Marvel Comics Team
Image
Spoilers for "Daredevil: Born Again" follow.

"Daredevil: Born Again" season 1 ended on a downer note for Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox). His greatest enemy, Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio), is no longer just the mayor of New York City, he's the Big Apple's dictator. With martial law and an Anti-Vigilante Task Force on his side, Fisk outmatches Daredevil more than ever before. To take him down, Matt tells Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) they'll need an army.

What could that army look like? At the episode's end, Matt brings together his current allies: Karen, law partner Kirsten McDuffie (Nikki M. James), former detective Cherry (Clark Johnson), current (and honest) cop Angie Kim (Ruibo Qian), etc. So, not a whole lot of superpowered heavy hitters. Who else could this army enlist?

Punisher (Jon Bernthal) also escaped imprisonment by Fisk, so he's probably going to be back for the next battle. This...

Image
There is officially only one month left until Blood of Zeus returns for its final chapter. Collider can exclusively reveal that Season 3 of the animated Greek mythology series created by brothers Charley and Vlas Parlapanides has been set for a May 8 release, landing it almost exactly one year apart from the debut of Season 2. The return of the smash hit will bring about the end of Heron and Seraphim's story, as the half-brothers look to fulfill their roles as prophesied saviors of the world. A greater threat than ever looms, however, with the return of the Titans and of Typhon, the monstrous creature Olympus nearly fell too in the distant past.

Season 3 figures to resume directly in the aftermath of the shocking Season 2 finale that left the demi-god Heron dead. Amid the battle of the gods for the power of the Eleusinian Stone, the titular son of Zeus claimed...

The Titans Return With First 'Blood of Zeus' Season 3 Images [Exclusive]
Image
The wait to hear the end of Heron's tale is nearly over. With just a few weeks left until Netflix's gory animated series Blood of Zeus returns, Collider is excited to exclusively share the first promo images from the upcoming third and final season of Charley and Vlas Parlapanides's animated Greek mythology hit. This collection teases some of the key moments viewers can expect as the saga unfolds, including the arrival of the Titans and the greatest threat to Olympus yet, Typhon, the beast that nearly laid the Gods low in the distant past. Along with the new stills, we can confirm that the final eight episodes will arrive on the streaming platform in May.

Produced once more by Powerhouse Animation, Season 3 of Blood of Zeus will grapple with the fallout of that Olympus-shaking Season 2 finale. Although Heron tried to reason with the gods and re-establish...

Killer Screams and Body Horror as ‘Cuckoo’ Hits 4K
Image
Tilman Singer’s eerie, shape-shifting horror Cuckoo lands on 4K Ultra HD from 14 April, giving viewers another chance to experience one of 2024’s most disquieting and unconventional genre offerings. Presented by Dazzler Media, the disc release brings Singer’s chilling vision home in pristine clarity, loaded with behind-the-scenes extras and interviews that dive deeper into the blood-slicked labyrinth of family, identity and biological horror that made it a hit on the festival circuit.

Starring Euphoria breakout Hunter Schafer in her first leading film role, Cuckoo introduces us to Gretchen, a grieving teenager who relocates from the United States to a resort town in the German Alps, following her father’s decision to help develop a luxury hotel overseen by the mysterious Herr König, played with unnerving poise by Dan Stevens. The Royal Hotel (2023) Movie Review: A chilling critique of how superfluous and casual misogyny create unwarranted danger when the lenses are changed
Kitty Green
“It’s Okay,” “Men are just like that,” and “He’s just joking” are only a few phrases that you might overhear around you when toxic and dangerous male behavior is often rationalized or normalized because it’s just too much task to make them understand how to behave right. Kitty Green’s chilling second feature, “The Royal Hotel,” is set in a remote outback mining town in Australia and follows two women forced to work as bartenders at the local pub after their backpacking trip is cut short as they run out of money.

Based on Pete Gleeson’s 2016 documentary “Hotel Coolgardie,” Oscar Redding co-wrote Green’s film, which stars Julia Garner and Jessica Henwick as Hanna and Liv, two American backpackers who agree to work as bartenders at Royal Hotel, a pub run by Billy (Hugo Weaving). Billy’s wife, Carol (Ursula Yovich), who also serves as the pub’s chef,...

Finn Jones: There’s a “Willingness for the fans” to See Me Return as Iron Fist in MCU
Image
Let’s admit it. Marvel’s Iron Fist could have been a good series if fans had been a little more patient and Marvel Television had listened better to what fans were saying.

Despite the show being an average Marvel flick, it seems that lead actor Finn Jones isn’t done with the role of Danny Rand. The actor revealed that he wants another chance to prove the critics wrong for what they had said about him.

The show debuted in 2017 and was a part of Marvel & Netflix’s original shows, which included series like Daredevil, The Punisher, and more. Although the latter two found worldwide fame and critical acclaim, the same cannot be said about Iron Fist.

Celebrating female star pilots in Star Wars
Image
In 1983, several actresses filmed scenes as star pilots in the Battle of Endor for Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi. However, they did not make it into the final cut of the film or dubbed over as men. Since then, though, there have been many female star pilots in both the Star Wars films and series.

In 1999, George Lucas rectified the omission 16 years later in The Phantom Menace. British actress Celia Imrie portrayed Naboo starfighter Dinee Ellberger. The character assisted the Jedi and Naboo's liberation of the planet against the Trade Federation.

With the exception of Solo: A Star Wars Story, the four other films released under Disney have featured female star pilots. In The Force Awakens, Jessica Henwick portrayed X-Wing pilot Jessika Pava. Henwick was a finalist for the role of Rey and won over director J.J. Abrams to give her a role in the film.
