Former Bachelorette star Ali Fedotowsky recently opened up about a less-than-ideal experience during a guest appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2010. While Ellen DeGeneres was known for her lighthearted humor and positive energy, Fedotowsky’s recollection paints a different picture of the encounter.
Speaking on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s podcast, Off the Vine, Fedotowsky shared that while DeGeneres wasn’t overtly mean, her behavior made her feel “stupid.” Fedotowsky, then a 24-year-old reality TV star, believes her attempt to match DeGeneres’ signature energetic style backfired. She described feeling like DeGeneres might have been weary of interviewing a string of scripted personalities, and that Fedotowsky, as a newcomer to fame, didn’t quite fit the mold.

Ellen DeGeneres always made sure to tell her audience, “Be kind to one another” before ending each episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which is better than her usual address to her reality TV star guests of, “Are you a drunk idiot?”
TV personality Ali Fedotowsky began her career in entertainment as a contestant on The Bachelor and, later, the star of The Bachelorette, which is a pretty par-for-the-course background for the average Ellen guest. As such, when Fedotowsky made her obligatory appearance on Ellen following her Bachelor breakout in 2010, she assumed that the host would bring her “be kind,” soft-lighting, everybody-gets-a-puppy on-screen personality to the interview and treat Fedotowsky gently. But, like so many interns during DeGeneres’ 20-year reign of daytime TV terror, Fedotowsky found the experience of actually speaking to the talk show megastar and feeling her piercing blue eyes pick her apart intimidating and slightly demoralizing.

Bachelor Nation fans all know that one of the most dramatic and explosive moments in the franchise is fantasy suite week. Following hometown dates, the final three men or women are given a chance to have some time alone with these leads, which means no cameras and just two people having intimate conversations (or doing a little more) before the series' finale.
These fantasy suites can help a lead make the biggest decision of his or her life. However, they have also caused a lot of drama, as some contestants are not happy about the fact that other men or women might be hooking up with the person they want to eventually have a future with. Several The Bachelor and The Bachelorette alums have opened up about their time in the fantasy suites, and they have spilled major tea.

The Bachelorette has led to several happy marriages, but some of the leads found their true loves outside the franchise. The Bachelorette has a better track record when it comes to marriages than The Bachelor. The very first Bachelorette, Trista Rehn, married her choice Ryan Sutter in 2003 in a televised ceremony. In addition, The Bachelorette season 9 star Desiree Hartsock married Chris Siegfried in 2015, while season 12 lead JoJo Fletcher married Jordan Rodgers in 2022. Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo got engaged on The Bachelorette season 13, and got married in 2019.
