Starz pulled the brakes on its crime drama series Hightown a little too suddenly after the release of Season 3 in early 2024. The cliffhanger Season 3 left off felt more like a pause than a conclusion, which made its surprising cancellation even more brutal for fans eagerly looking forward to another season. What could have ended in a satisfying finale is now just a matter of speculation.
Season 4 could have been the perfect farewell to the gritty and intense story focused on the crime-addled world of Cape Cod. Yet, Starz pulled the plug on it and left fans wondering why. Season 4 had a lot of potential, as it could have explored whether or not Jackie Quiñones managed to recover from her addiction and the fate of Renee and Ray’s complex relationship.
Instead, everything was left in limbo, including Jackie’s relationship with Leslie. Let’s find out what fans could have...

Less than 48 hours after debuting on a new streaming home, this Monica Raymund-led crime drama immediately found success, ranking among the top titles. From Starz to Netflix, Hightown is one of those shows that just can’t be missed thanks to its electric storyline. The series follows Raymund’s character, Jackie Quiñones, a National Marine Fisheries Service Agent in Provincetown, Massachusetts, who suffers from addiction and obsessive behavior. She finds her life turned upside down when she’s pulled into criminal investigations in her community, clashing with a disgraced narcotics sergeant as both struggle with mounting personal and professional turmoil.
About a year after Hightown was unexpectedly removed from Starz, it found a home on Netflix, where it debuted all three seasons on July 23. Now two days later, FlixPatrol reports that the series is #5 on Netflix in the U.S., a spot it has held since yesterday. Other titles...

FandomWire’s Untamed review places Eric Bana’s wilderness thriller as a must-watch on Netflix. If crime thrillers like this chart-topping series are your go-to, we’ve got some good news for you. Netflix just dropped three whole seasons of Hightown, a critically acclaimed crime show that originally aired on Starz (via The Mirror).
With multiple episodes packed with similar mystery-fueled, gritty themes as Untamed, Hightown is being touted as the perfect follow-up to the latest crime drama. The shows share a central theme of troubled protagonists navigating complex investigations.
While Bana’s Kyle Turner stumbles upon a dead body as a National Park Service Isb Agent, Hightown follows Jackie Quiñones, where she discovers a dead body as a National Marine Fisheries Service Agent. As we hopefully await an announcement for an unlikely Untamed Season 2, let’s explore why the three-season crime drama can be the perfect fill-in.

2020 will always be that year for fans of this acclaimed Starz drama that has unfortunately been unavailable on streaming for a while. Debuting on the network on May 17, 2020, Hightown concluded its three-season run on March 8, 2024, and has failed to appear on any subscription service ever since it was abruptly removed from Starz. That’s about to change, as What's on Netflix reports that the crime series has now found a new streaming home on Netflix, where it will be available to watch in the U.S. starting next month.
On Wednesday, July 23, Netflix will add seasons of Hightown, which stars Monica Raymund as Jackie Quiñones, a National Marine Fisheries Service Agent in Provincetown, Massachusetts, who is the primary focus of the series. The character, who suffers from alcoholism, drug addiction, and obsessive behavior, finds her life upended when she’s pulled into criminal investigations in her beach community, clashing with...

If you’re missing Hightown on Starz, there’s excellent news for where you can now find the underrated crime drama!
One of the biggest annoyances of streaming channels is the tendency they have to remove shows, often with little to no warning. It’s complex due to rights issues, licensing fees, and other factors, which is why places from Netflix to Tubi can often have shows vanish and later return or move to another streamer.
It’s easy to think that a show made for a specific channel would always stay on that channel/streamer. That’s not the case, as some streamers and cable channels have taken to dropping shows so they won’t have to pay off licensing rights. That means channels like HBO Max or Disney+ can drop several of their original series and leave them in limbo for watchers.
Such a case has been Starz.

After Hightown ended abruptly on Starz, its creator, Rebecca Cutter, was set to continue her relationship with the network with a new show, The Hunting Wives. It has been in development since 2023, but after production wrapped up, there was no news. Deadline reports that The Hunting Wives is now moving from Starz to Netflix and will premiere in the US on July 21. The decision was informed by Starz's ongoing decoupling process from Lionsgate Television, with whom they had partnered as their production studio. Starz has been on a quest to become profitable, like many other networks, and part of that process includes creating its own shows instead of licensing them from a production company. Lionsgate Television believed that The Hunting Wives would run longer if it were on another streaming platform, contrary to what Starz had initially planned.

Some shows just get done dirty, and Hightown is one of them. Starz pulled the plug after Season 3, and honestly, it stings. Not because it was a bad show (far from it), but because it still had so much more story left to tell. It was gritty, intense, and full of messy, real people trying to make sense of their lives, whether they were cops or criminals.
And let’s be real, the cast carried the hell out of every episode. But instead of letting it ride out with one last season, Starz hit us with the classic “this is the end” routine and called Season 3 a wrap. The problem? That finale wasn’t an ending, it was a setup. A juicy one. So if you’re sitting there wondering why Hightown won’t be back for Season 4, you’re not alone. Let’s break down what happened and why...

It has been 12 years since the HBO show kicked off with the legendary monologue by Jeff Daniels. While the speech has been etched in the memories of countless fans, it also brought a Primetime Emmy win for Daniels.

All the while, the town faces a new deadly drug called Great White.
In this upcoming season, Starz teases “everyone will face a deep reckoning” when the bad guys and corruption arise from all sides. “Beliefs and loyalties will be tested, and Jackie will have to learn to stand by herself and for what she believes in,” reads the official description. Starz is bidding farewell to another show.
The Lionsgate-backed premium cable network on Tuesday announced that crime drama Hightown, starring Monica Raymund, will conclude with its third season. Season three of the series from showrunner Rebecca Cutter (Gotham) will debut Friday, Jan. 26, on Starz.
Hightown is the latest series to get the ax at Starz. The cabler recently cleaned house and canceled Blindspotting, Heels and Run the World after two seasons each and dropped The Venery of Samantha Bird with only two episodes left to produce.
The conclusion of Hightown leaves Starz with a roster of originals that includes Black Mafia Family, Outlander, P-Valley, the Power franchise and Shining Vale. Raymund (Chicago Fire) stars alongside James Badge Dale, Riley Voelkel, Amaury Nolasco, Atkins Estimond and Dohn Norwood. The Originals are the most dangerous vampires on The Vampire Diaries but there are several times when they die throughout the young adult drama's eight seasons. The Mikaleson family includes parents Mikael (Sebastian Roché) and Esther (Natalie Dreyfuss) and children Freya (Riley Voelkel), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Henrik (Devon Allowitz), Rebekah (Claire Holt), Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic), and Finn (Casper Zafer) and Esther's son Klaus (Joseph Morgan), who is half-siblings with the other characters. The Originals are the very first vampires and they are quicker and mightier than other kinds, which sets them apart and makes them a serious threat.
The Mikaelson family are part of Tvd spin-offs The Originals and Legacies, which proves their importance in the franchise's lore. They can be killed using a White Oak Stake, which is magical and will stop the spell that creates original vampires. This is different from a White Ash Oak Dagger, which can't...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Chicago Med Season 8 premiere “How Do You Begin to Count the Losses.”] Chicago Med wastes no time in letting us know who survives the fire in Will’s (Nick Gehlfuss) building, before saying goodbye to one doctor and welcoming back a very familiar face. Both Will and Dylan (Guy Lockard) survive, though undercover cop Jo (Riley Voelkel) dies as a result of being shot. And by the end of the episode, Dylan, mourning the woman he loved, tells Sharon (S. Epatha Merkerson) that he has to leave, to go somewhere he can just be a doctor with his police past continuing to pull him back in. In happier news, however, Ethan (Brian Tee) gets a blast from his past when he bumps into April (Yaya DaCosta)! TV Insider spoke with executive producers Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider about bringing back DaCosta, what to expect from April and Ethan, and more.

Spoiler Alert: The following reveals major plot points from the Season 8 premiere of NBC’s Chicago Med.
NBC’s Chicago Med returned for its eighth season tonight and while there will be a sad goodbye said to a series regular, there was also a shocking return in the final beats of the episode worthy of celebration.
And so is the life of emergency service workers—unpredictable and often complicated and tough. But as the seasons unfold, what’s always certain is that Gaffney Chicago Medical Center knows how to always bring on the drama.

There are changes coming to Gaffney Chicago Medical Center. Additionally, Yaya DaCosta, who exited the show in 2021 after six seasons, has returned as April Sexton.
During the Season 8 premiere Dylan chose to leave his job at the hospital following the death of Jo (Riley Voelkel), an undercover cop he became romantically involved with last season, who died in the ER. Co-showrunners Andrew Schneider and Diane Frolov confirmed his exit.

It’s very exciting how close we are to beginning Chicago Med Season 8, but there is a lot to cover based on how the previous season came to a close.
As a reminder, there was a big fire at the apartment building now owned by Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss). He bought the building after he was rewarded money for turning in a fellow doctor for breaking the law last season.
The cause of the fire was likely the people who were after Milena Jovanovic (played by Riley Voelkel), an undercover cop that Dr. Dylan Scott (Guy Lockard) was hiding in Halstead’s building.

“Roswell, New Mexico” returns for its final season premiere on Monday night, and it’s bringing an old friend back into the fold — at least temporarily. Max Evans’ old partner and friend Jenna Cameron is back, and she needs his help solving what very well may be a crime committed by aliens.
Of course, this time around, Jenna Cameron (Riley Voelkel) is actually Agent Cameron, having taken a job with the FBI. But to be fair, she’s not the only one with a new title. Max (Nathan Dean Parsons) has one too; he’s currently the sheriff of Roswell (even if only in the interim). Their banter is as strong as ever, as Jenna needles Max by informing him that she only took the job “so I could outrank you, Evans.”
Jokes aside, there is a reason that Max was the one called in to help solve a bank...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Chicago Med Season 7 finale, “And Now We Come to the End.”] Chicago Med may have just set up a crossover with Fire to kick off Season 8. After all, two doctors end the seventh season trapped in a fire, and unless Dr. Dylan Scott (Guy Lockard), who was previously a cop, has added firefighting to his résumé, they’re going to need some help. Dylan turned to Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) to help undercover cop Jo (Riley Voelkel) hide out before it’s safe for her to skip town. (Good thing not much of Will’s apartment building is actually ready for tenants.) Because she was unsure who she could trust, Jo gave Dylan her covert wire device — with recorded conversations and police reports of busts where less money and drugs were recovered than were supposed to be there from her op — to perhaps help determine the identity of a...

Joseph Morgan played Klaus Mikaelson to perfection for seven years across The Vampire Diaries and its spinoff, The Originals.
Recent social media posts have left fans wondering whether he will appear in the forthcoming series finale of Legacies following its cancellation.
The third series in The Vampire Diaries Universe has featured plenty of faces from the past, and fans have been begging for more Klaus content since The Originals Season 5 Episode 13.
If you watch The Originals online, you know Klaus was killed off in the final scene of the New Orleans-set drama.
Morgan took to social media Wednesday to address the speculation.
“First of all, I haven’t seen any cast from the Tvdu in years, not in person at least, I promise you that,” Morgan tweeted.
“All this speculation is gonna drive you crazy."
"Let go of these nonsense theories about hidden codes, Everyone knows Klaus Mikaelson is dead.

Set in The Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted, and within “The Vampire Diaries” universe, The CW’s “Legacies” debuted in 2018. The show tells the ongoing story of a new generation of supernatural students as they learn what it means to be special in a society that wouldn’t understand their gifts.
The series stars Danielle Rose Russell as Hope Mikaelson, Jenny Boyd as Lizzie Saltzman, the now-exited Kaylee Bryant as Josie Saltzman, Quincy Fouse as Milton “Mg” Greasley, Aria Shahghasemi as Landon Kirby, Peyton Alex Smith as Rafael, Chris Lee as Kaleb, Leo Howard as Ethan Mac and Ben Levin as Jed, with Matthew Davis as Alaric Saltzman.

Four years after leaving the French Quarter behind, Charles Michael Davis is bringing Marcel Gerard back to New Orleans on Thursday’s Legacies. And as he tells TVLine, his former Originals co-star Danielle Rose Russell had the perfect response to his return: “I would have thought you’d have been back sooner.”
Davis makes his Legacies debut alongside Nathaniel Buzolic, who’s also appearing on the spinoff for the first time. They’re joined by returning guest stars Claire Holt and Riley Voelkel, officially making this the largest Mikaelson family reunion since The Originals ended in 2018.

Saving Hope will be a tough mission.
If you watch Legacies online, you know that Klaus and Hayley's daughter recently turned her humanity off as she activated her tribrid abilities.
In doing so, a God named Ken is coming after her to reclaim his status as the most powerful being in all the world.
On Legacies Season 4 Episode 15, Freya (Riley Voelkel), Rebekah (Claire Holt), Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), and Kol (Nathaniel Buzzolic) return, presumably to help save their niece.
"Welcome home, little one," Rebekah says to a clearly surprised Hope, who finds herself back in New Orleans.f
If you watch Legacies online, you know Hope threatened her aunt the last time they crossed paths, telling her to make sure none of the family tried to stop her.
"Why won't you just go away?" Hope complains in one scene, leading to the following response from Rebekah.

It's happening, Legacies fans!
The Mikaelsons are back.
The CW has dropped some stills from Legacies Season 4 Episode 14, airing April 14, at 9/8c.
"Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) continues to be swirled in confusion and fighting her humanity, which results in her seeing the people who mean the most to her: Rebekah (guest star Claire Holt), Marcel (guest star Charles Michael Davis), Kol (guest star Nathaniel Buzolic), and Freya (guest star Riley Voelkel)," the logline teases.
"Kaleb (Chris Lee) wants to introduce Cleo (Omono Okojie) to his world, including those who had the most profound influence on his path," the logline continues.
"Meanwhile, Lizzy (Jenny Boyd) devises a plan to get in someone’s good graces," it continues.
We've already had appearances from Riley Voelkel (Freya Mikaelson) and Claire Holt (Rebekah), so having Charles Michael Davis (Marcel) and Nathaniel Buzzolic (Kol) along for the ride is sure to bring back some memories.

That’s because it isn’t a throwback photo from his days on The Originals. It’s an exclusive first look at the April 14 episode of Legacies (The CW, 9/8c), which includes Charles Michael Davis‘ first guest appearance as Marcel.
