Image
Aespa Wins Big ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

The 22nd Annual Korean Music Awards in 2025 has officially declared the winners across the various music categories. The award ceremony took place on February 27, 2025, at 8 p.m. Kst. From Aespa to Bibi to G-Dragon, many other Korean artists were nominated for this event. Unlike many other Korean music award shows, they typically use sales figures as a major criteria to choose their winners. However, the Korean Music Awards focuses on musical achievements more than anything.

This award ceremony also puts greater importance on albums and songs in and of themselves. For the unversed, Aespa took the maximum number of trophies among their five nominations. The girl gang won three titles.

On the other hand, Lee Seung-Yoon also snagged three trophies and even got named as the Artist of the Year. Danpyunsun and the Moments Ensemble, the most nominated indie group, earned the title of Album of the Year.

It is an absolute joy for K-pop lovers, as the Korean Music Awards has announced the nomination list for this year’s ceremony. Unlike the other South Korean music awards, this one doesn’t use the typical ‘sales figure’ criterion to choose their artists or albums. Korean Music Awards focuses on musical achievement as the primary deal. It also centers around albums and songs of great importance.

Big band names like Blackpink and Aespa have been nominated. On the other hand, artists like Bibi, Iu, and Lee Sung-Hyun have also earned recognition in the list. Check out the nomination list of the 22nd Annual Korean Music Awards 2025 below:

Album of the Year Aespa – “Armageddon” Danpyunsun and the Moments Ensemble – “Hail to the Music” Hyukoh, Sunset Rollercoaster – “Aaa” Silica Gel – “Power Andre 99” Sumin, Slom – “Miniseries...

Rudy Giuliani Falls On The Floor & Struggles To Get Up At The RNC
Image
Rudy Giuliani, the disbarred former mayor of New York City, found himself at the center of attention when he unexpectedly fell at the 2024 Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Giuliani, 80, attended the convention to cover it as part of his Rudy Giuliani Show on the FrankSpeech platform. He experienced an unexpected fall on the floor of the Fiserv Forum on the second day of the event.

Footage shared by Spectrum News producer John Park showed Giuliani tumble to the ground in a walk-through on the convention floor. According to reports, he had an Osmo camera in hand and continued to film even after he was back on his feet. The state abbreviation for Ohio’s delegates, “Oh,” can be seen on the back of the row of chairs Giuliani landed amongst, a touch of irony to the unexpected incident.

Giuliani’s involvement with the RNC is not the first...

‘Agents Of Mystery’ Ending Explained & Series Summary: Did The Team Survive The Challenges?
Image
Agents of Mystery is a South Korean reality show featuring actors Lee Yong-jin, Lee Hye-ri, Kim Do-hoon, Karina, Lee Eun-ji, and John Park. In this one-of-a-kind show, the creators have attempted to blend elements of reality television and mystery thrillers. While the genre-blending idea seemed fascinating initially, the show turned out to be somewhat disappointing. It is stated at the very beginning of the show that the challenges presented to the participants have been curated by the creators, but what unfolds in front of the camera is real. The cuts and change in camera angle tell a different story, and it just ends up becoming another heavily scripted “reality” show.

The six participants were introduced to the challenge by X Investigation Network (Xin), a global anarchist group that is involved in solving mysterious cases and phenomena worldwide. Through their new technology, they were able to detect unexplained electromagnetic waves, and using it,...

From visionary producer Jeong Jong-Yeon, the show sets itself apart from other mystery game shows simply because this one highlights the adventure of the gamers rather than the process of solving the problems. Some of the fans are already craving for another season to come:

The Metkayina Reef Village In Avatar: The Way Of Water Took Three Years To Get Right
Image
In James Cameron's new sci-fi film "Avatar: The Way of Water" -- already one of the 10 highest-grossing films of all time -- our Na'Vi heroes Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) have to move their family from the safety of Pandora's placid forests to a distant, tropical archipelago. There, they become the guests of the Metkayina, a tribe of Na'Vi that live in harmony with the oceans. The Metkayina can hold their breaths for an extended period of time, and their arms and tails have adapted for rapid swimming. Occasionally, they ride on the backs of flying ichthyosaurs, a sort of flying fish. The seas of the Metkayina are a beautiful biome of staggering alien diversity, and their villages are constructed of ropes, tents, and hammocks that hang tautly over crystal-clear lagoons from the branches of a strong, nearby tree. Like every visual aspect of the "Avatar" movies,...

Over the years, "American Idol" fans have bonded together to support their favorite singers under a variety of banners. We've had everything from the Claymates (Clay Aiken), the Bice Squad (Bo Bice) and the CareBears (Carrie Underwood) to the Dianamites (Diana DeGarmo), the Park Rangers (John Park) and, of course, the Glamberts/Lambertinis (Adam Lambert).

So, at last week's following the announcement of Season 10's top 13, we asked some of this year's finalists what they thought their fans should call them?

Jennifer Lopez favorite Karen Rodriguez said she hadn't thought about it much, but now that we mentioned it, she's been hearing a lot about a nickname that has a sports-themed ring to it. "I've been getting a lot of 'K-Rods,...

American Idol Recap: Let's Get Critical
Lionel Richie, Ryan Seacrest, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan in American Idol (2002)
Twelve shipwrecked guys are treading water amid a swarm of ravenous sharks, when suddenly, a luxury yacht pulls up alongside them. “Darling, your bathing suits are divine!” exclaims a glamorous actress, peering down from the deck. “Dude, your backstroke is bitchin’!” says the rock star alongside her. “Way to throw caution to the wind and do your thing, dawgs!” says their pal the music producer, sipping from a tall Coca-Cola glass. Welcome to the American Idol season 10 men’s semifinal — life boats not included!

American Idol: Which Auditions Still Give You Chills?
Lionel Richie, Ryan Seacrest, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan in American Idol (2002)
For a lot of people, the American Idol audition rounds are all about the point-and-hoot spectacle of watching deranged, deluded “singers” committing treacherous acts against the beloved songbooks of Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, and a host of other musical superstars. Yet while I’m not immune to occasionally chuckling at said catastrophes, I get far more enjoyment from the good auditions, from experiencing the sudden and unexpected chills that come from seeing a nervous, heretofore anonymous kid floor a panel of judges (and 25 million viewers) with his or her vocal prowess.

Thanks to the wonders of YouTube, I occasionally find...

American Idol semi-finalist John Park places second in South Korea's Idol
American Idol 9 semi-finalist John Park made it to the final two of Superstar K, South Korea's version of the singing competition, and since he's obviously more popular there than he was in the Us, he may stay there. He lost to Huh Gak but "Park received the support of one of the judges, while Huh got the votes of the two others," The Daily Northwestern reports, noting that the "winner was determined by a...

America’s Got Talent 2010: Fighting Gravity wow judges (Video)
College students ‘Fighting Gravity’ wowed the judges on last night’s America’s Got Talent with their strange dance routine.

The frat brothers emerged onto a pitch black stage, dressed in glow in the dark costumes and carrying tennis balls. They proceeded to embark on one of the most imaginative routines we have seen on the show to date. More surprisingly they later revealed that none of them are professional dancers, in fact most of them are currently studying business and engineering.

“Was this an engineering project?” new judge Howie Mandel asked and even caustic tongued Piers Morgan was impressed by the act.

'American Idol' Recap: Shania Twain Week Don't Impress Much
"American Idol" producers apparently sat down and said, "Let's party like it's 1998-2002!" Hence, Shania Twain week is upon us.

I don't mean to slam Shania (whom you may remember as a guest judge on the Chicago audition episode earlier this season, where she praised John Park's "bottom end"). The woman's a record-breaking superstar who single-handedly supplied Delilah with enough hit songs to last a thousand phone calls. Sure, Shania hasn't put out an album of new music since George W. Bush's first term, but who cares? Ms. Twain was one of the most charismatic, genuine and insightful mentors this season. (And here's when Adam Lambert fans get upset…) "They're all singing my songs and I don't want them to hate me if they don't make it into the next round," she neurotically said in her intro package, channeling every single mom on Earth. Except maybe the one...

American Idols ‘pysched’ to meet Shania Twain!
The remaining American Idol contestants have taken to their official Facebook page today, to express their excitement about meeting country singing legend Shania Twain.

Shania will be mentoring the hopefuls for this week’s live show, on which they will all sing one of her songs. She has previously appeared as a guest judge for the Chicago auditions and helped put Katelyn Epperley through to Hollywood week.

On the day ahead, Siobhan Magnus wrote:

I’m awfully joyous today. Got some fresh ink last night with lee and mike! Also psyched to meet Shania today! And still feeling stunned about seeing courtney love in the flesh he other night… Life is good:-)

Michael Lynche added:

Awesome day ahead of us! On our way to meet Shania Twain!!! I bet she’ll be even more beautiful in person! And that voice! Can’t wait to see how the day plays out.

Shania Twain will mentor American Idol final 6
Shania Twain will make her American Idol return this week and will mentor the final 6 contestants as they try to perfect one of her own songs.

Shania last popped up as a guest judge on the show last year, after Paula Abdul left but before Ellen DeGeneres started. In fact if I remember correctly it was down to her lusting urges that John Park (remember him) made it through to Hollywood week, she also championed recent eliminee Katelyn Epperley after she auditioned in Chicago.

iTunes have published the following list of songs which the contestants will be allowed to choose from and while I think Casey James and Crystal Bowersox will select a song with ease, it may be a harder task for people like Siobhan and Michael…neither ones voice really lends itself to a country style…. We think the group need to steer themselves away from Shania’s more popular tracks,...

Shania Twain at an event for Walk the Line (2005)
Shania Twain gets Own show, not confirmed for 'American Idol' return
Shania Twain at an event for Walk the Line (2005)
Shania Twain is set to star in "Why Not? With Shania Twain," a series premiering on Own: The Oprah Winfrey Network.

According to People, the hour-long series "The show will follow [Twain] as she begins her climb back to the top, a personal journey filled with risk, revelations and unexpected adventures."

No air date has been set yet for the Twain show, but there this isn't Shania's first foray in front of the camera. She appeared as a guest judge in Chicago on Season 9 of "American Idol," famously complimenting eventual semi-finalist John Park on his "nice bottom end." Hee!

Rumors have swirled that she may return to "Idol" as a guest mentor this season (presumably on a country-themed week, though we'd love it if they went against type and it was like thrash metal or something), but Fox has told Zap2it that the show cannot confirm her return.

What do...

American Idol 2010: Jermaine Sellers will send Simon Cowell a bible!
Former American Idol contestant Jermaine Sellers has revealed that he is planning to send Simon Cowell a new bible.

Sellers was eliminated from the show on Thursday night only two night’s after he offered to take the judge to his church.

“I’m gonna send him a Bible,” he told Access Hollywood. “Like I told him, he [needs] to go to church.

“If he had a little bit of Jesus in him, then he wouldn’t be so mean. I’ve never known [anybody] that don’t smile.”

However, Simon isn’t as mean as Jermaine insinuated. The music mogul even offered his commiserations to the outgoing singer.

“He came to me afterward, after I got voted off, and he said, ‘Jermaine, I’m sorry’,” Sellers explained.

'Idol' Park: 'My nerves let me down'
John Park in American Idol (2002)
John Park has admitted that he struggled to cope with his nerves on American Idol. Park, who was voted off the show on Thursday, explained that he lost out because he wasn't used to being on television. "I think it was mostly song choice and nerves," he told MTV News. "I definitely got distracted by the cameras and the fact that the judges were going to criticise me in front of 30 million people on live TV, so I think that kind of took away from my concentration on just singing the song, honestly. Dish Of Salt: Friday TV Dish (Chatting With The 'Idol' Eliminees)
Lionel Richie, Ryan Seacrest, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan in American Idol (2002)
This week, I did better in my "American Idol" predictions, correctly guessing three out of the four contestants who would be going home - Jermaine Sellers, John Park and Michelle Delamor. It was a toss up for me between Haeley Vaughn and Lacey Brown. I guess I underestimated the power of the Texans. The red-headed country girl got to stay, while 16-year-old Haeley's "Climb" (she sang the Miley Cyrus tune this week) on the show was a short one. This morning, I had a chance to chat with all four eliminated contestants.

'American Idol': John Park, Jermaine Sellers on their most memorable 'Idol' moments
John Park and Jermaine Sellers were eliminated from "American Idol" but have nothing but positive feelings about their entire experience on the show.

John Park

On his most memorable moments of the journey:

It's just meeting the other contestants and really becoming god friends. Also working with Rickey Minor and the band. I mean, just working with the top of the top crew and band and coaches, it was just incredible.

On Simon's harsh remark that John would soon rejoin his acapella group:

He was basically saying that I might go home this week. He of course dramatizes it so people at home watch it and get a kick out of it. I don't really mind it because I understand where he's coming from. That's just who he is on TV. After the elimination happened and I sang my last song, he came up to me and shook my...

'American Idol' Top 20 week in review: Teen girl dreams and ethnic cleansing
The "American Idol" semi-finalists have been whittled down to 16 contestants and so far a few trends appear to be emerging during these first two weeks of eliminations.

Wondering why singers like John Park and Joe Munoz have been booted and singers like Tim Urban and Lacey Brown have stuck around?

Some "Idol" writers around the Web have posited some theories about early Top 24 eliminations.

La Times music critic Ann Powers tweeted Thursday night (Mar. 5):

"Watching Idol a little late. All people of color eliminated so far. Boo!" and "What's with the racial purge on Idol tonight?"

Meanwhile, La Times Idol Tracker Shirley Halperin responded in a piece:

"As much as some would like to draw red and blue lines in the sand, there's no denying that all four contestants gave less than stellar performances this week."

Gawker's Richard Lawson wrote:

"So didja notice anything about those four contestants what went packing last night?...

Friday 'Idol'-isms
Even after being hospitalized due to complications from diabetes, MamaSox not only brought the house down on "Idol" this week, she stole the show!

momlogic's Vivian: This week's "American Idol" got off to a tumultuous start on Tuesday, but it wasn't due to any kind of nutty scandal. Our fave single-mom contestant, Crystal Bowersox, was hospitalized due to complications from diabetes -- forcing the enterprise to shift performance-schedules for the week.

So instead of leading off with the ladies as planned, producers made it a testosterone Tuesday. New daddy "Big Mike" Lynche started things off. He did strong justice to James Brown's, "It's a Man's, Man's, Man's World," and the judges responded warmly.

Randy said, "I gotta give it to you! Crazy! R and B star right there!" Ellen appreciated his song choices and called him "the one to beat." Kara said she didn't know what he'd eaten that day...

Idol Season 9: Top 20 -- The Elimination
Lionel Richie, Ryan Seacrest, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan in American Idol (2002)
Ratings Coverage: American Idol's results show hit 19.3 million viewers, according to March Berman of MediaWeek, well above the competition but down about 10% from the 21.5 million viewers that tuned in one year ago. Show Coverage: Four more Idol contestants said goodbye, none of them surprises. John Park and Jermaine Sellers were the two guys sent packing while on the gals' side it was time to wave farewell to Michelle Delamor and Haeley Vaughn. The show began with another godawful lip-synced group performance. The group performances with 20 folks crowding the stage invariably have a painful, Up With People aura about them. But lip-syncing goes again everything the show is supposed to stand for. Mind you, I also hate, hate the Black Eyed Peas song "I Got A Feeling" though it was kind of delicious to see white-bread mullet-wearing Alex...

The 'American Idol' Elimination Results: How It Feels To Go Four-For-Four
I'm not one to brag, but did I nail it or what? You don't have to be a psychic to read the writing on the wall over at the "American Idol" terrordome, because season nine has been so full of dead wood that if the judges do revive the wild card, I really can't imagine who they would bring back.

That's why Thursday night's (March 4) elimination round was so easy to call. For me, anyway. I managed to go four-for-four, correctly predicting that smiling cowgirl Haeley Vaughn would vamoose, along with tone deaf Purple Haze frontman John Park, sanctified loony Jermaine Sellers and cute-but-bland young Whitney Houston lookalike Michelle Delamor.

I would have liked to see the judges use their executive power to make it an odd five and toss Tim Urban as well, but you can be sure the apple of Ellen’s eye will be gone next week,...

'Idol' exit Q&A: John Park talks Shania and what went wrong
Shania Twain at an event for Walk the Line (2005)
Shania Twain loved John Park's bottom end. Unfortunately, not enough American Idol dialers did. Last night, we watched the 21-year-old contestant get booted from the Idol stage -- and unleash his best performances to date. The morning after his elimination, Park talks about performing better Wednesday night, his absence during Hollywood week, and, of course, Shania. You've had a night to think about your ouster -- how do you feel this morning? I'm feeling good, actually. You know, a little disappointed, but relieved. I'm just kind of ready to go back home and see what's in store, probably go...

'American Idol' Results March 4th Episode
'American Idol' March 4th episode. There's definitely some talent on this season of Fox's hit reality show "American Idol". So far, things seem to be going my way. All of the my favorite contestants remain in the competition while the two I absolutely couldn't stand were forced to say their goodbyes on last night's episode.

The elimination show kicked off with the contestants singing the hit single "I Got A Feeling" by The Black Eyed Peas. After the first break, host Ryan Seacrest revealed that John Park was received the lowest votes thus he was the first to be eliminated. Second to say his goodbyes was Jermaine Sellers. As for the ladies, Michelle Delamor and Haeley Vaughn were the two unfortunate ones to be eliminated.

For some reason, John Park and Haeley Vaughn were absolutely irritating to me and I have no clue why. Something about the two...

'American Idol' Elimination Interviews: John Park and Jermaine Sellers
Lionel Richie, Ryan Seacrest, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan in American Idol (2002)
Last night John Park and Jermaine Sellers were eliminated from American Idol. This afternoon, they both took the time to answer questions about their time on American Idol and what's next for them.

While the two couldn't be more different as singers or interview subjects, John was reserved and thoughtful and Jermaine remained the loquacious preacher that we saw interacting with the judges, both attributed their eliminations to the same flaw: an inability to focus.  It turns out whether you're a lifelong church singer or the lead vocalist of your college glee group, when it comes to 30 million people watching you and the promise of Simon Cowell's wrath, there's no real preparation for Idol.

Here are the highlights of Jermaine and John's interviews. ...

'American Idol' Recap: America Sends the Right Four Packing
It was elimination night on American Idol last night, and congratulations America, you did yourself proud. America got it right last night, with three out of the four people they sent home being, as Simon Cowell would put it, a "no brainer." We were a little sad to say good-bye to Ashley Delamore. But we're not gonna lie, it has more to do with her pretty curls than her pretty vocals. We said goodbye to the boys first last night. The first to go was John Park. Truthfully, we were surprised John was even given a second week because his first performance, a bizarre rendition of "God Bless the Child," was so awful we were sure we'd seen the las ...

Viewers vote out four non-white American Idol semi-finalists
American Idol 9 dropped four more semi-finalists last night, and coincidentally--or not--all of the contestants who went home were people of color: Michelle Delamor, John Park, Jermaine Sellers, and Haeley Vaughn. On the one hand, with Alex Lambert and Tim Urban and Didi Benami and others still around, it's kind of suspicious that voters got rid of these particular four semi-finalists all at the same time: three are black, one is Asian. (Update: And as...

'American Idol' In 60 Seconds: Alex Lambert, Crystal Bowersox Dominate Top 20
John Park, Haeley Vaughn, Michelle Delamor and Jermaine Sellers bid farewell as quirky girls take the lead.

"American Idol" in 60 Seconds has fast become an MTV News institution, but it goes by so fast that it's not always easy to catch every golden nugget. So, here we present to you Jim Cantiello's bite-size recap of this week's "Idol" high jinks.

This week's "American Idol" had it all! Schedule changes, glass-shattering high notes and cameos from Jesus (and Vera Wang).

Week two of this year's "Idol" semifinals will be remembered as the week that quirky girls emerged as the breakout stars of season nine. Platinum-haired Lilly Scott, unpredictable banshee Siobhan Magnus and aspiring recording engineer Katelyn Epperly all put their own unique stamps on popular songs. But it was Crystal Bowersox who dominated headlines — not only when her hospitalization for...

American Idol Viewers Almost Get Eliminations Right
In most cases, three out of four is a solid percentage. Imagine if a baseball player got a hit 75% of the time he came to bat.

But even when American Idol viewers eliminate the proper contestants 75% of the time, we can't help but focus on the one they got wrong. We'll try to work on this negative attitude.

Until then, we must ask: Michelle Delamor over Lacey Brown? Really?!? Has the latter proved her voice is impressive enough to compete with this season's semifinalists? At all?!?

Delamor, meanwhile, has come across as stiff occasionally... but it's at least conceivable to see her vocal skills propelling her toward the finals. Brown has no chance.

As for Haeley Vaughn, Jermaine Sellers and John Park? Goodbye and good luck. One of you smiled way too much (like a scary doll of some kind); one of you couldn't carry a tune and talked about...

Michelle Delamor 'Questioned' Singing Creed On 'American Idol'
'I feel that I still did give my own style to it, but I maybe should have chosen a different song,' she says.

By Katie Byrne

Michelle Delamor

Photo: Fox

While she didn't get a lot of screen time before the semifinals, Michelle Delamor established herself as season nine's resident diva with her first live "American Idol" performance of Alicia Keys' "Fallin'."

Unfortunately, she made an oddball song choice (an R&B version of Creed's "With Arms Wide Open"?) that sent her packing Thursday, along with Jermaine Sellers, John Park and Haeley Vaughn.

Does she think lack of screen time did her in? We caught up with the 22-year-old from Miami on Friday (March 5) to talk about that and much more.

Q: On Wednesday, Kara said "With Arms Wide Open" was your best performance yet. Then during the results show, she took that comment back. Was that difficult?...

John Park Got Caught Up With 'Nerves' On 'American Idol'
'I definitely got distracted by the cameras and the fact that the judges were going to criticize me in front of 30 million people on live TV,' he says.

By Katie Byrne

John Park

His "American Idol" journey might have come to an end Thursday, but John Park will always have Shania Twain.

The guest judge made Park's audition one of the most memorable of the season, with her borderline-inappropriate comments about his "bottom end." The Northbrook, Illinois, college student never quite lived up to his initial promise, however, and he was sent packing, along with Jermaine Sellers, Haeley Vaughn and Michelle Delamor.

We caught up with the 21-year-old Friday (March 5) to talk about the judges' harsh comments, his early front-runner status and what's next.

Q: After your performance this week, Simon made a comment about your college a cappella group getting their lead singer back. What were...

'American Idol' Castoff Haeley Vaughn Says Miley Cyrus Is An 'Icon'
'I'm a really big fan of Disney and Disney Channel, so hopefully there's something there that I can work on,' she says.

By Katie Byrne

Haeley Vaughn

Photo: Fox

Haeley Vaughn's smile was infectious, but her uneven singing left the "American Idol" judges (and fans) frustrated.

After her shaky performance of Miley Cyrus' "The Climb," Vaughn was eliminated Thursday, along with Jermaine Sellers, John Park and Michelle Delamor. Will the 16-year-old's country/pop dreams still come true? We talked to the high-schooler from Fort Collins, Colorado, on Friday (March 5) to talk about that and more.

Q: What did you think when Kara suggested you take a year to strengthen your vocal skills?

A: I kind of agreed with her. I think that more experience and more time working on my vocals would be good. I think experience is always better, especially since I'm only 16 and this is...

Jermaine Sellers Says He Appeared 'Diva-Ish' On 'American Idol'
'Sometimes, the camera can make you look more arrogant,' castoff says of his comments to the judges.

By Katie Byrne

Jermaine Sellers

Jermaine Sellers got some pretty harsh feedback from the "American Idol" judges for his semifinal performances, but said he was convinced that his faith would carry him through the negativity.

His dream came to an end, however, on Thursday, when he was voted out of the competition, along with John Park, Haeley Vaughn and Michelle Delamor. "In God, there's no failure," the 27-year-old said after his elimination.

So what's next for the Joliet, Illinois, church singer? We caught up with him Friday (March 5) to discuss that and much more.

Q: You were very outspoken about your faith on the show. Do you think your post-singing comments had anything to do with your elimination?

A: Though I hate to say it, yeah, I do. Because sometimes,...

American Idol 2010: Danny Gokey performs ‘My Best Days Are Ahead Of Me’ on results show (Video)
danny 20r @ Yahoo! Video

Former finalist Danny Gokey returned to the American Idol stage last night. Coming back to the stage that launched his music career, Danny gave an amazing performance of his new single “My Best Days Are Ahead of Me” from his just released new debut album ‘My Best Days.’

Danny’s vocals were as strong as ever and we loved the whole leather jacket thing he had going on. Gokey told Ryan Seacrest that last year after one of his performances, country icon Randy Travis came up to him and asked, ‘Have you ever considered doing country?’ He said that his comment inspired him to release a country themed album.

American Idol 2010: John Park, Jermaine Sellers, Michelle Delamor & Haeley Vaughn voted off
American Idol contestants John Park, Jermaine Sellers, Michelle Delamor and Haeley Vaughn were eliminated from the show last night.

On the results show Ryan Seacrest revealed that 27 million votes had been cast (that seems like a ridiculously high number to us!), the group sang “I Got a Feeling” by Black Eyed Peas (we preferred the X Factor group version last year) and Danny Gokey wowed us with “My Best Days Are Ahead of Me.”

John Park was the first boy to be eliminated and we are kind of sad because we think that he actually had a great deal of untapped potential. On this week’s live show John sang ‘Gravity’ by John Mayer and the judges agreed that it was boring and lacked conviction. He sang his final song was slightly better than he did first time round, it was enough to kind of make us regret the result.

Four More Sent Home On 'American Idol'
Lionel Richie, Ryan Seacrest, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan in American Idol (2002)
There were plenty of tears on Thursday night's "American Idol" as four more contestants were sent packing.

John Park, 21, from Evanston, Ill., was the first to learn the news, but he was positive about his departure as he recalled the moment during his original judges' audition when country music superstar -- and guest panelist -- Shania Twain, complimented him on his lips and other parts of his slender figure.

"The highlight is Shania, of course," John said laughing at the memories. "But really, like meeting these girls and these guys, I've really enjoyed my time here and ...

American Idol Gets Down to 16 Remaining Contestants
Semifinalists Michelle Delamor, John Park, Jermaine Sellers and Haeley Vaughn were eliminated tonight on American Idol after they received the fewest of America's more than 27 million votes. Also on tonight's show, American Idol Season Eight finalist Danny Gokey performed his new single, "My Best Days Are Ahead of Me."

Next week, the eight female semifinalists (Didi Benami, Crystal Bowersox, Lacey Brown, Katelyn Epperly, Siobhan Magnus, Paige Miles, Lilly Scott and Katie Stevens) will take the stage once again, singing Live for America on Tuesday, March 9 (8:00-9:00 Pm Et live/Pt tape-delayed). 'American Idol' Eliminates Haeley Vaughn and Three More
For giving bad performances two weeks in a row, Haeley Vaughn, Jermaine Sellers, John Park and Michelle Delamor have all been sent home. "American Idol" viewers voted that these four should not advance to the next round. The ninth season is now wilted down to eight guys and eight girls.

The departure of Haeley, Jermaine and John were somehow expected since they received nasty comments from the judges this week. But Michelle actually got praises from Kara DioGuardi and Simon Cowell. Kara called Michelle's rendition of Creed's "With Arms Wide Open" her favorite performance while Simon applauded her effort of not choosing a safe song.

Dodging the bullet and given another shot at the competition are thus Tim Urban and Didi Benami. The former has been criticized for not being good enough yet garnered votes for his looks. The latter was on the verge of tears when hearing the judges' comments on this week's performance.
