‘Year 10’ Brings Brutal Post-Apocalyptic Horror to Digital This August
Image
Reel2Reel Films has confirmed the UK digital release of Year 10, Ben Goodger’s dialogue-free post-apocalyptic horror, arriving on 4 August. The announcement follows the film’s well-received debut at FrightFest last summer, where it drew praise for its stark vision of survival in a world overrun by violence and feral predators.

Set a decade after the collapse of civilisation, Year 10 depicts a grim wasteland where silence is vital to survival. Those who remain have formed violent factions, while packs of wild dogs roam the countryside. Against this backdrop, a young man, played by Toby Goodger, witnesses his father’s (Duncan Lacroix) savage murder at the hands of a gang of cannibals. When the killers steal the family’s medical supplies, leaving his gravely ill girlfriend (Hannah Khalique-Brown) at death’s door, he sets out on a relentless mission for revenge and recovery.

Adapted from Goodger’s 2010 short film Coming of Age,...

Starz's 90% Rotten Tomatoes Time Travel Romance Returns With a Twist in Epic New Trailer
Image
Outlander: Blood of My Blood is less than a month away. The prequel series to the massively successful Outlander is coming to Starz on August 8. The series will show the dual love stories of Jamie Fraser's (Sam Heughan) and Claire Beauchamp's (Caitríona Balfe) parents. The show takes fans back to 18th Century Scotland as well as World War I Era Europe. In the trailer released by Starz, their parents, Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy), and Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine), respectively, find their stories intertwined when Julia ends up in the past after a car accident. As Henry anxiously searches in the present for Julia, she's in 18th Century Scotland more or less playing matchmaker with Jamie's parents, further tying that invisible string together that will give us Jamie and Claire's epic love story that fans watched for eight seasons.

Tartan Is Back Again! ‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood’ Will Feature Clan Dealings and “Political Backstabbing” as Much as Romance
Image
When Starz's epic romance series, Outlander, began in 2014, the series introduced audiences to the world of the Scottish highlanders. Their lovely Tartan-wearing ways, their disdain for the British and Claire (Caitríona Balfe) and Jamie's (Sam Heughan) epic love story. The highly anticipated prequel series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, is set to carry on the legacy of the flagship series hopefully to new heights when the show premieres on Friday, August 8. Central to the story will be the romance of Jamie's (Sam Heughan) parents as well as Claire's (Caitríona Balfe) parents as the spin-off stretches across time to bring love to our screens. However, love, passion and romance won't be the only things we will come to know about Outlander: Blood of My Blood.

Throughout the seven-season run of Outlander, and even into its upcoming eighth and final season, the series has had its fair share of politics and war sprinkled in.

Is This New (and Already Beloved) Couple in 'Outlander' Endgame?
Image
The success of the Starz historical fantasy series Outlander is predominantly connected to the captivating depiction of the relationship between the two main characters, Jamie and Claire, and the rest of the characters are all somehow connected to them. While each and every single one of them brings something exciting to the table, there is one specific character who has been getting much more screen time in Outlander Season 7, and we are here for it.

William Ransom, raised by Lord John but actually the biological son of Jamie, is not the young boy who we saw joking around with Jamie when he was still working as a groom for the Dunsany family at Helwater. Their paths crossed various times, but when William finally learned the truth, his life was turned upside down. At least he met someone through his hardship, but is this couple in Outlander endgame?

Warning: This review contains spoilers for Outlander Season 7, Episode 15

Outlander season 7, episode 15, "Written In My Own Heart's Blood," delivers on the fast-paced promise of season 7 and races forward without giving us a moment to catch our breath. Outlander season 7, episode 14 paved the way for the Battle of Monmouth, which takes center stage in episode 15, pushing the characters to their limits and providing enough excitement to last a lifetime.

'Outlander' Season 7 Part 2 Needs to Drop the Filler Episodes
Image
It’s hard to believe, but it has been almost three decades since Diana Gabaldon published the first book of her extremely successful historical fantasy novel series, Outlander. Captivating readers with her story of the English WWII nurse, Claire Randall (Caitríona Balfe), who is transported back in time to 1743, where she meets the Scottish solider, James Fraser (Sam Heughan). Claire’s encounter with Jamie and his clan is far from comfortable, at first, but what follows is an intense love story that goes beyond the borders of time.

In 2014, the first season of Outlander aired on Starz, and due to its success, the series already has seven seasons. The long-running TV show is perfection in many ways, which is why it is hard to believe that something about it isn’t perfect. Even though Outlander is one of the most beloved historical fantasy series ever, it doesn’t mean that it can do no wrong.

Review: The war has arrived in Outlander Season 7 Episode 15, "Written In My Own Heart's Blood"
Image
Just like that we have arrived at the Outlander Season 7 penultimate episode, "Written In My Own Heart's Blood". It's a bittersweet moment because we have one episode left for the season, and following next week's finale, we have one season left of Outlander...ever. It is tough to believe that we are so close to the end of the road, and to saying goodbye to our favorite time-traveling romance. I do not like to think about the end, but alas, it is closer than ever before.

However, before we get tearful about the end, let's talk about this week's explosive episode. A lot has been taking shape in the forming United States of America, including this episode's Battle of Monmouth. Jamie (Sam Heughan) is finally heading out into the trenches, which doesn't bode well for our anxiety, or for Claire's (Caitriona Balfe). Whenever these two are separated or going off into dangerous situations,...

Why This 'Outlander' Episode Is One of the Most Controversial Yet
Image
You would think that watching six seasons of Outlander would prepare you for the rollercoaster that is the hit series’ Season 7. Well, it's inevitable to break the illusion, because this new season following Jamie and Claire’s life also brings some of our favorite characters lives into really, really difficult situations. While each of Outlander’s new episodes that has aired on Starz so far is tough for the nerves in some way, there is one episode which is simply baffling. Outlander’s Episode 12 of Season 7, “Carnal Knowledge," is easily the most controversial episode yet, and here is why.

Outlander Season 7, Episode 14 Review: William Gets His Time In The Spotlight & Quickly Becomes My Favorite Character This Season
Image
Warning: This post contains spoilers for Outlander Season 7, Episode 14

Outlander season 7, episode 14, "Ye Dinna Get Used To It," has officially set almost all the characters on their ultimate paths for the rest of the season. With only two episodes left, season 7 has a lot of tension to resolve before the season finale, but the interweaving threads of the stories are converging. While Outlander season 7, episode 13, was a bit slower than some of the action-oriented installments of the season, "Ye Dinna Get Used To It" has brought back the heightened drama and fast pace, setting up a strong conclusion.

Why 'Outlander' Needs a Lord John Grey Spin-Off
Image
Claire (Caitríona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser’s (Sam Heughan) tumultuous love story has been nothing short of exhilarating to watch. With Season 7 of Outlander currently airing weekly on Starz, and Outlander Season 8 confirmed as its final run, fans of the show still have some time left to spend with their beloved characters. There are only a handful of long-running TV shows which excite viewers so much that they would love to see a spinoff including some of their favorite characters.

This extremely successful series is not only special due to its long run, but it is also one of those widely-loved series which will have a spinoff. Outlander: Blood of my Blood is set to explore the lives of Jamie and Claire’s parents in more detail. The excitement for this new approach is certainly there, but since the release of Outlander’s seventh season, one specific Outlander character has fans demanding a spinoff,...

Outlander Season 7, Episode 13 Review: Roger & Bree's Arc Is Still Weak, But At Least We've Got More Exciting Stories To Focus On
Image
Outlander season 7's episode 13, "Hello, Goodbye," packs on the nostalgia from the earliest seasons of the show and continues the trend of father-son relationships driving the plot forward. After Outlander season 7, episode 12, there are plenty of questions still left about the fate of Lord John and William after being estranged from Jamie in the wake of his presumed death and reappearance. However, "Hello, Goodbye" provides some touching parallels throughout the episode. As families are reunited, they're simultaneously torn apart elsewhere, and lovers old and new learn from each other.

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Outlander season 7, part 2 episode 12!The next installment of Outlander season 7, part 2, starts with a bang and is the most action-packed addition to the season yet. After leaving off on the cliffhanger that Jamie didn't perish on his ship heading back from Europe to America, he and Claire hardly get a moment to celebrate before he's already on the run from the Red Coats. Outlander Star Reveals What He Regrets About Last Episode's Shocking Hook-Up
Image
Outlander has never shied away from shocking, even downright traumatic, scenes. Since Season 1, the show has aimed to shock its audience with its gratuitous portrayal of life in the 18th century.

In the most recent, fans saw the aftermath of Lord John Gray’s (David Berry) wedding and the grief he and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) shared for their loss, culminating in a racy scene that audiences not familiar with the books would have expected. And whilst this pairing was certainly shocking, Berry felt it could have gone further than what was shown.

Outlander Season 7, Part 2 Review: The Drama Pays Tribute To Its Past While Looking Forward To Its Future
Image
For several seasons now, Outlander has looked quite different from the TV show's beginning, but the first three episodes of season 7, part 2 still have a few tricks. For audiences who have stuck with Outlander from the start, the slow transformation into a family-oriented series has had its ups and downs. However, the second half of this extra-long season delivers some of the action that the series needs. While Caitrona Balfe and Sam Heughan as Claire and Jamie Fraser will always be the show's beating heart, there's plenty to explore with the other characters.

Based on the novel series, Outlander follows combat nurse Claire Randall from the year 1945, who is mysteriously transported back to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world and sees her life threatened. However, when Claire is forced to marry Jamie Fraser, a genuine and passionate relationship is ignited that tears Claire's heart between two different men from two clashing lives.

Would you survive? Blue Fox Ent. has unveiled an official trailer for an indie survival thriller called Year 10, marking the feature directorial debut of British filmmaker Ben Goodger. It first premiered at FrightFest 2024 but it hasn't show up anywhere else. This will be on VOD in December if anyone thinks it looks good. 10 years after the fall of civilization, the few survivors have been driven to cannibalism. A young man must confront a violent tribe that has murdered his father and stolen the medicine that keeps his girlfriend alive. Taking place in a post-apocalyptic world, the film focuses on a man fighting wild dogs, nature, and other brutal humans in order to save his love. Starring Toby Goodger, Hannah Khalique-Brown, Duncan Lacroix, Alexander Anderson. I'm tired of these bland survival thrillers that are always "people will turn horrible and start eating each other!" As viewers have seen over the years, the couple, comprised of a World War II combat nurse-turned-doctor and an 18th-century Highlander warrior, have gone through the Battle of Culloden together and, more recently, the Battle of Alamance, where they lost Jamie’s godfather, Murtaugh (Duncan Lacroix). ‘Outlander’: Diana Gabaldon Holds Court With Zingers About Fans, Jamie Fraser, And Caitriona Balfe (Who Cusses The Most) – New York Comic Con
Image
The men of Outlander — Sam Heughan, John Berry and Duncan Lacroix — took center stage at New York Comic Con Sunday but it was author Diana Gabaldon who delivered some of the best zingers at the panel.

When reflecting on the drama’s beginnings on Starz, Gabaldon recalled sitting with Heughan and Caitriona Balfe and talking about the people who love her books. “I have never had a bad fan experience,” she remembered telling the duo. “They are wonderful, intelligent and kind. Gabaldon also brought the house down when explaining how she can track the mood on set by watching the dailies from each episode. “I can judge by how things are going by the number of times Sam or Caitriona says f–.”

When Heughan...
