If you didn’t know, the 43-year-old actor played Captain America in eight Marvel movies, and exited the franchise after 2019′s Avengers: Endgame.

The Mayor of Kingstown star told Us Weekly this week that he “had no idea” his fellow actor and friend would be taking on the villain role in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027).

Anthony and Joseph Russo, who have been key creative members of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, are now bringing a new show to Quibi documenting the decades-long rivalry between Marvel and DC.

Quibi, the mobile TV subscription startup founded by Jeffrey Katzenberg, greenlit “Slugfest,” a documentary series executive produced by the Russo Brothers, whose directing credits include a string of hits for Marvel: “Avengers: Endgame,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” “Captain America: Winter Soldier” and “Captain America: Civil War.”

“Slugfest” is inspired by Reed Tucker’s book “Slugfest: Inside the Epic, 50-Year Battle between Marvel and DC.” The docu-series will chronicle the growth of comic books as a new American art form, following the rise of the two companies that went on to become comics-publishing and Hollywood powerhouses.

Producers promise that “Slugfest” will bring to light little-known stories from the history of both Marvel and DC, including interviews with creators of the best-known superhero characters in the world.

Quibi has greenlit a new documentary series from “Avengers: Infinity War” directors Anthony Russo and Joseph Russo highlighting the rise of comic book juggernauts Marvel and DC, the upcoming mobile-only streaming service shared on Wednesday morning.

The series, dubbed “Slugfest,” will be executive produced by both Russo brothers. “Slugfest” will chronicle the early days and growth of Marvel and DC, as the two preeminent comic book publishers — fueled by creativity and competition — battled for bragging rights; the series will also look at the lasting cultural impact stemming from the Marvel-dc rivalry, as well as little-known stories from behind-the-scenes.

On Wednesday, Hemsworth was able to squeeze in a roller coaster ride at Disneyland. Joey, 40, Matthew, 36, and Andy, 29, all rose to fame on television, but now the trio has formed Still Three and released their first single “Lose Myself”—and People has the exclusive first listen to the new track.

Before The Beatles came to our shores in the mid-1960s, I don’t think there was a bigger rock band in America than The Four Seasons. The Four Seasons are one of the best-selling musical groups of all time, having sold an estimated 100 million records worldwide. The story of the band’s formation, success, and their eventual break-up has already been dramatized in Jersey Boys: The Story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, a jukebox musical which debuted on Broadway in 2005. And now that musical has been brought from the stage to the screen. The new movie Jersey Boys is a lot of fun and quite entertaining, but unfortunately the film suffers from narrative and structural issues that prevent it from reaching its full potential.

For any actor, playing Joe Pesci in a Clint Eastwood production is dream challenge – and it was one undertaken by Joey Russo, with a role in the renowned director’s latest endeavour, Jersey Boys.

We spoke to Russo about the role, and how he went about remaining faithful to Pesci’s sensibilities, without feeling like a caricature. He also tells us what it was like to work under Eastwood, how his own journey – from New Jersey to Hollywood – matches that of our protagonists, and the joys in honing his craft in a variety of different mediums.

Okay I admit it, I'm a showtunes queen! I love Broadway and musicals, good musicals, that is. And I think "Jersey Boys" is a good musical. The rugs-to-riches tale of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons is captivating and the soundtrack rocks!

And now comes the inevitable movie version, and to be honest? It actually looks good! Director Clint Eastwood added some grittiness to the Broadway gloss and voila -- a musical that will steal our hearts this summer, June 20th to be exact! Oh, plus points for adding Christopher Walken to the mix! Will he sing? Or at least dance?

Clint Eastwood has cast Erich Bergen to play the role of Bob Gaudio in his upcoming adaptation of Jersey Boys. Bergen previously played the Four Seasons mastermind in the Los Angeles and Las Vegas versions of Jersey Boys.

Bergen joins a cast that includes Joey Russo, Jeremy Luke and Christopher Walken, however, Bergen is the first to be cast in a lead role.

Jersey Boys tells the story of how the Four Seasons became one of the top singing groups of the 1960s before they turned 30.

Besides Jersey Boys (stage version), Bergen has appeared on shows like Gossip Girl, Person of Interest, Desperate Housewives and Franklin & Bash.

Chicago – One of the grand entertainment events every summer in the Windy City is the Wizard World Chicago Comic Con. TV, movie and comic book celebrities populate the event – including last year’s attendees Lauren Holly (“Dumb and Dumber”) and Joey Lawrence (“Blossom”).

The 2013 edition of the Wizard World Chicago Comic Con kicks off on Thursday, August 8th and runs through Sunday, August 11th. Scheduled to appear is Zachary Quinto (Spock from the new Star Trek film series), the legendary Stan Lee (founder of Marvel Comics), Ralph Macchio (“The Karate Kid”), director Robert Rodriquez (“Machete Kills”), Brandon Routh (“Superman Returns”) and Wil Wheaton (“Star Trek: The Next Generation”), among other guests.

This year, Joey Lawrence tried a new role on for size as the host of ABC's newest reality series, Splash. Joey paid a visit to our La studios recently to talk about the diving competition's final episode and which stars surprised him the most with their skills. We also talked about what's ahead on the upcoming season of Melissa & Joey and why the 1990s are having a resurgence.
