White Collar star Sharif Atkins, who played FBI Special Agent Clinton Jones, is set to return to the series' upcoming revival. The star first appeared in the pilot episode as an agent working under Peter Burke in the white collar crime division. Agent Jones is known as Peter's point contact for backup. Though unwillingly, he's sometimes tasked with babysitting con man Neal Caffrey.

Atkins recently confirmed his return to the series' reboot and his character's presence in the White Collar world. "I've talked to [creator] Jeff Eastin a bit here and there, and yeah, Jones is still in the world," Atkin told TVLine. The actor is curious about his character's whereabouts after the original series ended its run in 2014. According to Atkins, the script for the upcoming reboot is "top-notch" and "pays homage, beautifully to the late Willie Garson." The month is ending on a good note for White Collar fans as a new update has surfaced regarding the series revival. In particular, it has been confirmed that FBI Special Agent Clinton Jones, played by Sharif Atkins throughout the police procedurals six seasons, will be a part of the reboot, although specifics remain unclear. Atkins revealed this to TVLine less than a week after creator Jeff Eastin dropped a major update about the new series, including its supposed title, White Collar: Renaissance, and that of the pilot episode Masquerade.

The stars of White Collar are just as excited about a potential revival as fans are. Over the past year, there has been talk of the possibility, with creator Jeff Eastin providing an update earlier this month about positive feedback from the studio on the script. He included, on social media, a look at the front page of the script revealing the title White Collar Renaissance. A White Collar revival now has a title and a status update from creator, writer and executive producer Jeff Eastin. “It’s coming together,” Eastin wrote in a post on X, along with a screenshot of the script and the title White Collar Renaissance. The pilot episode also is titled “Masquerade.”

There have long been talks of the potential revival series. Star Matt Bomer told Deadline’s Pete Hammond in an interview earlier this year that a revival series is “technically in the works,” adding ‘it’s moving in the right direction and seems it could be a very real thing in the next year or two.” Eastin then confirmed in June that an updated version of the police procedural is finally in development.

The White Collar revival secretly announced its expanded cast members, and it highlights just how better it is than Suits LA. Created by Jeff Eastin, White Collar was part of the USA Network's peak in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Released several years before Suits, it centers on Matt Bomer and Tim DeKay's Neal Caffrey and Peter Burke an unusual pairing of an ex-conman and an FBI agent solving white-collar crimes in New York. White Collar was a fun watch, with intriguing weekly cases highlighting Neal and Peter's dynamic.

White Collar's revival was already years in the making. Eastin first teased the idea in 2020, saying that he had a conversation with Bomer about the matter. White Collar was incredibly successful in its time, as it blended action, comedy, and drama in a very balanced way. However, another key factor in the shows success was the clear chemistry between cast members, which may well be what Matt Bomer is looking forward to getting back to the most.

The Hollywood Reporter posted a clip on X, formerly known as Twitter, that showed Bomer, who played reformed(ish) con artist Neal Caffrey in the shows original run, discussing the return of White Collar. A lot of that is just about the joy of working with that cast again, explained the actor. We were also so close-knit, were still all close friends. We text at least once a week with each other, and we go to dinner all together as a group once a year.

There is “very legitimate talk” about a revival of fellow “blue skies” drama White Collar, star Matt Bomer told TVLine on Friday while promoting his Showtime limited series Fellow Travelers.

“There has been talk. It’s actually very legitimate talk, it’s in conversation,” said Bomer, who played White Collar con man Neal Caffrey for six seasons.

“There’s nothing that I would want more than to be on a set with this group of people again,” star Matt Bomer shared during a virtual White Collar reunion on Thursday via the Stars in the House YouTube channel. “There are real conversations happening. There seems to be a lot of excitement about it. What form that takes and how it plays out and whether all the creatives involved can work it out and make it happen is yet to be seen. But we’re all really optimistic and hopeful.

Quarantine times have a lot of us remembering the good ol' days, and that extends to the creator and cast of White Collar.
