Meagan Good
I’ll Never Let You Go: Meagan Good thriller premieres on Lifetime next month
Meagan Good
Over the years, actress Meagan Good has dealt with – among other things – a voodoo slasher (in the 2005 film Venom), death-predicting voice-mails (in One Missed Call), the torturous games of Jigsaw (in Saw V), paranormal activities (in The Unborn), a crazy Dennis Quaid (in The Intruder), video game creatures (in Monster Hunter), and vampires (in Day Shift). Now, Deadline reports that she’ll be facing off with a spurned lover in the thriller I’ll Never Let You Go, which is set to make its Lifetime premiere on Saturday, August 16 at 8/7c.

Directed by Troy Scott (I Thought My Husband’s Wife Was Dead) from a script by Alex Wright (Sleepwalking in Suburbia), I’ll Never Let You Go (which was going by the title The Empty Nest at one point in its development) sees Good taking on the role of Emily Westover, a poised and successful art gallery director whose life...

Scream 6 will be the longest film in the franchise
Image
We’re just a month away from the March 10th release of Scream 6, which is going to drop the Ghostface slasher action into the midst of New York City. (Although the movie was actually filmed in Montreal.) And when Scream 6 reaches theatres, fans are going to be treated with the longest film in the franchise. Regal Cinemas has revealed that this one has a running time of 123 minutes, taking the “longest sequel” record from Scream 2, which is 120 minutes, and leaving the first Scream and Scream 4 (both 111 minutes) and Scream 3 and the 2022 Scream (both 114 minutes) in the dust.

It seems fitting that this “Ghostface takes Manhattan” adventure is going to be the longest Scream movie, because Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (which was actually filmed in Vancouver) happens to be the longest Friday the 13th movie.

Directed by Scream 2022’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and...

Scream 6 features a bolder, more brazen Ghostface
Image
The trailer for Scream 2022 directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett’s Scream 6, which is set to receive a theatrical release on March 10th, promises this sequel will feature a Ghostface like no other… and in a new interview with Total Film magazine (shared on Games Radar), Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett said this new Ghostface is bolder and more brazen than their predecessors.

Bettinelli-Olpin told the magazine, “We wanted to make this really different, while still having all the stuff you love. Having a bolder, more brazen Ghostface was a big part of that.“

Gillett revealed that Scream 2022 screenwriters James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick had written the script for Scream 6 before the previous film was even released, so the new sequel was able to just “confidently be what it is” instead of being a response to the reception of Scream 2022 in any way. He added that the...

Image
We’re less than two months away from the March 10th theatrical release of Scream 6, and today a full trailer for the film has arrived online! You can check it out in the embed above. Scream writer Kevin Williamson, who has an executive producer credit on the new sequel, said this one feels like a “fresh reinvention“ – and the Ghostface in this movie does seem to be quite of proud of themselves for changing up the game. This Ghostface will even pick up a shotgun if given the opportunity.

Although set in New York City, Scream 6 was actually filmed in Montreal. Directed by Scream 2022 directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett from a screenplay by Scream 2022 writers James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick, this one will show us what happens when the four survivors of the Ghostface killings leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.

Scream 6: Kevin Williamson describes film as a fresh reinvention of the franchise
Image
Scream 6 is set to reach theatres on March 10, 2023, but Kevin Williamson – who got the franchise rolling with his screenplay for the original Scream and receives an executive producer credit on the new sequel – has already seen the movie. Speaking with Syfy Wire, Williamson heaped praise on Scream 6, which he said feels like a fresh reinvention of the series.

Williamson told Syfy Wire he is “absolutely floored with how well (Scream 6) turned out. It doesn’t feel like Part 6, it feels like you’re watching this big, huge, fresh reinvention. I love, love, love, love it. I’ve watched the movie with a big smile on my face. I think it’s everything and more. And going to New York was awesome. The movie feels new, it feels fresh, it feels like a new movie.“

Scream 6 subway poster lists Ghostface’s past victims
Image
The official Scream Movies Twitter account has unveiled another poster for the upcoming Scream 6 – which is set to reach theatres on March 10, 2023 – and this one is pretty cool. Playing into the New York City setting and the fact that the teaser trailer (embedded above) takes place on a subway train, this poster shows the Ghostface mask as a subway map… and the station names on the poster are the names of characters who have died in previous Scream movies, victims as well as killers. One standout, since she hasn’t died (yet), is Sam Carpenter, the name of the heroine played by Melissa Barrera in this year’s Scream and Scream 6. Scream 4 character Kirby Reed (played by Hayden Panettiere) is also on the list, but the poster says the Kirby Reed station is now closed. That’s because Kirby appeared to have been killed in Scream 4, but...

Scream 6 poster art celebrates Christmas in New York

Judging by the Scream 6 teaser trailer, which can be viewed in the embed above, it looks like the slasher sequel – which is set to reach theatres on March 10, 2023 – takes place around Halloween. Scream: Kevin Williamson confirms that Matthew Lillard’s character Stu Macher is dead
Image
Some fans of the Scream franchise have long held on to the theory that the character of Stu Macher – who was played by Matthew Lillard in the 1996 original Scream (watch it Here) and turned out to be one of the killers who was running around in the Ghostface costume throughout the movie – was not killed at the end of that film. Despite getting stabbed a couple times, losing a lot of blood, and getting a TV dropped on his head. They keep expecting him to show up in one of the new sequels – and when it was revealed last week that Ghostface will be wearing a weathered mask in the upcoming Scream 6, many quickly jumped to the conclusion that the killer must be Stu, still holding on to the mask he wore in 1996. Here to kill that theory is Scream screenwriter Kevin Williamson, who serves as an executive producer on Scream 6.

Scream 6 image reveals a slightly different look for Ghostface
Image
Earlier today, Paramount released a teaser trailer and a poster for Scream 6, which is set to reach theatres on March 10, 2023. Now Entertainment Weekly has unveiled a new image from the film, and it confirms that Ghostface will be sporting a slightly new look in the latest sequel! This look was hinted at on the poster, but this image shows that the different look for the mask wasn’t just a stylistic choice made for the marketing materials. It is in the movie.

Scream 6: Melissa Barrera says the film may be 100 times gorier than the previous sequel
Image
Scream 2022’s Jenna Ortega, who reprises the role of Tara Carpenter in the upcoming Scream 6 – which is set to reach theatres on March 10, 2023 – recently gave an interview in which she said that the film is going to be “so action-heavy and so gore-heavy” that viewers will be distracted from the absence of Neve Campbell, who opted not to return as franchise heroine Sidney Prescott in this one due to a pay dispute. Now Ortega’s Scream 2022 and Scream 6 co-star Melissa Barrera, who plays Tara’s sister Samantha, has confirmed to Collider that the new sequel is going to be much gorier than the previous one. Maybe even 100 times gorier.

Barrera said, “There was a saying on set because (directors) Matt [Bettinelli-Olpin] and Tyler [Gillett] were always asking for more blood and more sweat. They always just wanted more. “More blood spritz” was the saying because they would just always want more.

Scream 6: Jenna Ortega says the action and gore will distract from the absence of Sidney
Image
Scream franchise star Neve Campbell was asked to return for the upcoming sequel Scream 6, but ended up passing on the offer due to a pay dispute. So this is going to be the first Scream movie that doesn’t feature heroine Sidney Prescott – but cast member Jenna Ortega says that Scream 6 is going to be so cool, fans are going to be distracted from Sidney’s absence.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Ortega said, “I feel like I can’t really speak too much on (Sidney’s absence) just because it’s not necessarily my character. But I will say there’s so much going on in this next one, that it’s so action-heavy and so gore-heavy that I think you’re gonna be distracted almost. But it’s very clear, like, there’s references to Sidney, of course. You know, it’s nice because there’s still...

Scream 6 and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves get new release dates
Image
Paramount Pictures has just decided to shake up their March plans. The studio had originally intended to get March 2023 started by releasing the game-inspired film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves on March 3rd. Then they were going to end the month by releasing the slasher sequel Scream 6 on March 31st. Now they have pushed Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves back four weeks and moved Scream 6 ahead three weeks.

Scream 6 is now set to reach theatres on March 10th. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will follow on March 31st. Paramount did not give a reason for these date changes.

Deadline notes that the March 10th release date puts Scream 6 in direct competition with the sci-fi thriller 65, a Sam Raimi production that stars Adam Driver and was directed by A Quiet Place writers Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, as well as the drama Inside, starring Willem Dafoe.

‘So Help Me Todd’ Review: Marcia Gay Harden and Skylar Astin in a Disposable CBS Mother-Son Dramedy
Image
Click here to read the full article.

The punny title of CBS’ So Help Me Todd is the best part of So Help Me Todd.

It’s not a great pun, mind you. But it does, in general terms, what it needs to do. It evokes altruism, and the show is about a young man helping his mother. It evokes the law, and the main character’s mother is a lawyer. It also evokes God, but that part is a bait-and-switch. Audiences thinking So Help Me Todd might be a stealth continuation of CBS’ God Friended Me will be disappointed.

Speaking of name-based puns, the eponymous Todd’s mother’s name is Margaret, so if there isn’t an episode titled “Are You There, Todd? It’s Me, Margaret” before Christmas, we burn the whole place down. And speaking of Todds and Margarets, does anybody remember the comedy The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret?...

Scream 6: Melissa Barrera discusses what the New York setting brings to the new sequel
Image
The Scream franchise went Hollywood for Scream 3, and in the upcoming Scream 6 – which is scheduled to reach theatres on March 31, 2023 – Ghostface will be chasing down victims in New York City. Collider‘s Perri Nemiroff was able to talk to Scream 6 star Melissa Barrera for a moment at the Toronto International Film Festival and asked her what it’s like to be pursued by Ghostface in NYC instead of the small town of Woodsboro. Barrera answered,

It’s, like 20 times more mortifying. It’s awful. Because you also see how, in a city like New York City, everyone is kind of doing their own thing and someone is screaming for help, and no one will come to their help. No one comes to help them, you know, like, everyone’s kind of like, “I’m not getting into that.” So it’s mortifying, because you’re chased by Ghostface,...

Scream 6 set pics show Montreal transformed into New York City
Scream franchise star Courteney Cox has already wrapped filming her scenes as Gale Weathers in Scream 6, but filming on the sequel continues in Montreal – and a new batch of set pics have revealed that a section of the city has been transformed into a version of New York City (which is where the story actually takes place).

At MTLBlog.com, they have pictures of multiple New York City street signs that have been set up in the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce neighborhood of Montreal, along with several fake businesses, a fake subway station, and even a sign for a financial group that also serves as a reference to the film Ready or Not. Which was directed by Scream 2022 and Scream 6 directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. Check it out:

Scream 6: Courteney Cox wraps, new cast members spotted on set
Scream 6, which is set in New York City and heading toward a March 31, 2023 theatrical release date, has been filming in Montreal for a couple months already – and yesterday, franchise star Courteney Cox took to her Instagram account to confirm that she has finished working on the film. While Cox was putting together a fun video that shows her being stalked by Ghostface even after she has returned home, the official Scream Movies Twitter account was sharing an image that shows returning Scream 2022 cast members Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown on set with franchise newcomers Samara Weaving and Tony Revolori. Both of those social media posts can be seen at the bottom of this article.

3 Actors From The Interview on the Movie’s Cancellation
James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Randall Park in The Interview (2014)
If you thought you were disappointed about Sony yanking the release of The Interview, just imagine being one of the film's actors — and then imagine being one of the movie’s actors who isn't Seth Rogen or James Franco, who have the benefit of 24-hour security. The Interview's main cast seems to have been placed under a cone of silence following Sony's announcement on Wednesday. So we called up three of the supporting players — Tommy Chang, David Diaan, and Thomas Cadrot — to see how they're coping. What were your roles in the movie?Chang: I play one of Kim Jong-un’s bodyguards. In the original script, I’m in it from the get-go — with the president throughout every scene that he’s in. They edited me out in the vast majority of the film, but at the end, I actually get killed by Kim Jong-un for telling him the...
