The Creative Arts Emmy Awards were announced this past weekend. Disney+ original Ahsoka was up for five of the categories ranging from Outstanding Sound Editing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-hour) and Animation to Outstanding Period or Fantasy/Sci-Fi Hairstyling. It is no surprise to fans of the series that the award the creative team took home was for Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes.

The head of the team that won this prize was Shawna Trpcic, sharing the distinction with Elissa Alcala. Trpcic, a California native, studied fashion at the Otis College of Art and Design. Why Star Trek: Picard Teamed The Borg Up With The Changelings
Image
In the "Star Trek: Picard" episode "Võx", Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis) used her empathic abilities to reach into the mind of Jack Crusher (Ed Speleers) to explain the mysterious, brief psychic spells he periodically and uncontrollably falls under. Jack had revealed that he possessed martial arts skills he never knew he had, can occasionally read people's thoughts, and even invade the brains of others, taking control of their bodies. Nothing is known about Jack's powers, other than he was being murderously pursued by Vadic (Amanda Plummer), a vengeful Changeling who hoped to unlock their secrets.

It seems that years ago, the Federation kidnapped several Changelings, including Vadic, and performed cruel medical experiments on them. Vadic only wants revenge for the Federation's unacknowledged war crimes. Jack has something to do with her plan.

In "Võx," it was revealed that Jack's powers came from, rather unexpectedly, the Borg. It seems that Picard (Patrick Stewart), Jack's father,...

Star Trek: Picard's Jane Edwina Seymour Had To Be Glued Down For Her Borg Queen Scenes
Image
The final two episodes of "Star Trek: Picard," called "Võx" and "The Last Generation" respectively, concluded the season's strangest mystery. The young Jack Crusher (Ed Speleers) had revealed on several occasions that he possessed eerie and inexplicable psychic powers. Not only could he read people's minds, but he could project his consciousness into other people's bodies and take control of them remotely. He also was inexplicably a martial arts expert and was capable of killing bad guys in ways he didn't think he was capable of.

The final explanation for his powers was perhaps a little silly. It turns out his long-lost father was Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and he inherited a Borg gene from his father. Picard, it seems, received the Borg gene from when he had been assimilated decades prior. The inherited gene gave Jack superpowers and also psychically lured him into the clutches of the insidious Borg Queen,...

1 Star Trek Ship In Picard’s Starfleet Museum Is A Borg Queen Tribute
Image
Star Trek: Picard season 3 introduces the Fleet Museum, featuring the USS Wersching, a starship named after the late Borg Queen actress Annie Wersching. Annie Wersching played the Borg Queen in Star Trek: Picard season 2, and her portrayal was well-received by fans. Her death at the age of 45 was a tragedy. The USS Wersching joins other iconic Star Trek ships at the Fleet Museum, and its inclusion is a heartfelt gesture that honors Annie Wersching's legacy as the Borg Queen.

Star Trek: Picard season 3 introduced the Fleet Museum, and one of the starships on display is an Easter egg that honors the late Annie Wersching, who played the Borg Queen in Star Trek: Picard season 2. The original Borg Queen actress, Alice Krige, returned in Star Trek: Picard season 3 to voice her iconic cybernetic villain, although the Queen was played on set by Jane Edwina Seymour. Tragically, Wersching passed away from cancer...

‘Ahsoka’ Season 1 Finale: It’s Thrawn’s World And We’re Just Living In It As [Spoiler] Meets Their Fate; But What’s Next?
Image
Spoiler Alert: This recap contains spoilers from the Season 1 finale of Disney+/Lucasfilm’s Ahsoka, directed by Rick Famuyiwa and written by Dave Filoni.

Heading into tonight’s Season 1 finale of Ahsoka, fans knew we were flying to a cliffhanger; that Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) would make the jump to hyperspace via the space loop while some portion of Ahsoka and friends would be left behind without a prayer in the midst of the green tundra tumbleweeds of Peridea in a galaxy far, far away.

What didn’t happen in this episode were any major cameos from Star Wars canon dramatis personae of yore, i.e., Princess Leia or Luke Skywalker or Boba Fett or Baby Yoda. No, we got our fill of that with C-3Po in the last episode, when he appeared to defend Hera’s rogue mission before the snarky Galactic council.

Where do we go from here?...

Original Borg Queen Actor BTS Video Shared By Picard Showrunner
Image
Star Trek's original Borg Queen actress is back in action thanks to a Star Trek: Picard season 3 behind-the-scenes video shared by showrunner Terry Matalas. Jack was turned into Vox of Borg, but Picard and the crew of the USS Enterprise-d saved Crusher and destroyed the Borg once and for all.

On Twitter, Terry Matalas shared a BTS video of Alice Krige, the original Borg Queen actor, performing voice-over for Star Trek: Picard season 3. The Borg Queen was played by Jane Edwina Seymour on set, but Krige lent her voice to her character to provide symmetry with the Queen's unforgettable debut in Star Trek: First Contact. Image

The Borg Queen, who was voiced by Alice Krige and embodied by Jane Edwina Seymour, was revealed as Star Trek: Picard season 3's uber-villain. The Borg achieved its ultimate victory by assimilating Starfleet via Jack Crusher (Ed Speleers), who became Vox of Borg, but Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the crew of the USS Enterprise-d saved Jack and handed the Borg their final defeat.

However, Star Trek: Picard season 2 introduced a second faction of the Borg. After Picard and his friends were shunted by Q (John de Lancie) to the dark alternate timeline ruled by the Confederation, they met this reality's Borg Queen (Annie Wersching). Who Plays The Borg Queen In Star Trek Picard Season 3 Finale?
Image
Warning: Spoilers for Star Trek: Picard Season 3 Finale - "The Last Generation"Special guest star Alice Krige provided the voice, but a new actress played the Borg Queen in Star Trek: Picard season 3's finale, "The Last Generation." The Borg Queen was revealed as the ultimate villain in Star Trek: Picard season 3. The Borg joined forces with the Changelings to assimilate Starfleet, while the Queen fulfilled Jack Crusher's (Ed Speleers) destiny to become Vox of Borg. But Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the crew of the USS Enterprise-d rescued Jack and dealt the Borg their greatest defeat.

The Borg Queen was introduced in Star Trek: First Contact, where she was played by Alice Krige. As the leader of the Borg Collective, the Queen was retroactively behind the assimilation of Captain Picard into Locutus of Borg. In spite of multiple defeats, the Queen returned several times and was played by different actresses,...
