The Acolyte Season 2 Cancellation Causes Eruption of Fan Reactions
Image
The news that Lucasfilm canceled The Acolyte has been met with a mixed response from Star Wars fans. Ever since the Disney+ series debuted, it has faced an uphill battle; fans began reviewing-bombing it before a single episode aired. During its run, it generated a great deal of engagement and discussion (i.e. arguments), with many fans appreciating how the series pushed Star Wars in a new direction, while others were more critical. Certain fans were expressing honest criticisms of the show; a large segment of the fanbase only hated the series for featuring a more diverse cast of characters.

Fan reactions to the cancelation on social media has been as mixed as the series itself. Many fans have expressed disappointment in Lucasfilm and Disney's decision to cancel The Acolyte, noting the potential for where the series could've gone. Others were more critical of the series, pointing out the issues...

“Sadly she was a variant”: Jennifer Garner Pays Homage to Ben Affleck’s Daredevil in Deadpool & Wolverine and Many of Us Didn’t Even Notice
Image
Deadpool & Wolverine continues to defy expectations at the global box office and seems to be on its way to becoming one of the biggest Marvel Studios movies of all time. Part of its appeal is the many cameos it has from actors and characters who once used to be part of the larger Marvel universe. Hence, it was a surprise and a delight to see Jennifer Garner reprise her role of Elektra from years ago.

Having once portrayed the character with her ex-husband Ben Affleck in the 2003 movie Daredevil, the actress also paid a subtle homage to Affleck’s Daredevil, an act that many of us never noticed.

Mortal Kombat Reboot Fans Declare Josh Lawson's Kano Steals the Show
Image
The release of the Mortal Kombat reboot was met with some mixed opinions with fans when it was released on Friday, but most seem to agree that Josh Lawson absolutely killed it as Kano. Directly inspired by the hit video game series, some fans say Mortal Kombat is the new greatest video game movie ever made. Others are a bit more critical, but even some of the more negative reviewers have still been praising Lawson's killer performance.

On Twitter, one fan posted: "I dug Mortal Kombat. Screw the haters. Were there a few things they could've done better? Sure but Every movie has that. At face value it was a solid film. Kano was actually by far my favorite in the film though."

Wonder Woman 1984 Fans Going Wild Over First Look At Cheetah
As we begin to move closer towards the summer blockbuster season, Warner Bros. has begun to pull back the curtain on their upcoming Dceu flick, Wonder Woman 1984. Just a few weeks ago, the film’s first TV spot began making the rounds, and late last year, moviegoers picked it as their most anticipated release of 2020.

Granted, we’re still a few months away from its premiere, but with the movie now in post-production, there’ll be plenty to report on as we get our hands on new promotional material, interviews and early reactions. In fact, just earlier today, we got the first picture of Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah, who will serve as Diana Prince’s primary foe.

To be fair, this photo has yet to be confirmed as official, but that hasn’t stopped fans from taking to Twitter to share their excitement, and we’ve gone ahead and...

Josh Brolin Confirms Deadpool 2 is Going Through Reshoots after Poor Test Screenings
We've only got a couple of months before Deadpool 2 is released in theaters. The release date was recently moved up from June to May, but the film is currently going through reshoots. Those reshoots were confirmed by Josh Brolin in an interview with EW saying:

"I’m up here right now in snowy Vancouver doing reshoots for Deadpool. Given that it’s a satire of all superhero movies, especially Marvel movies, how can you not?"

It's not uncommon for movies to go through reshoots, especially big tentpole films like this. But, whenever fans hear about reshoots they tend to get a little nervous. In this case, it seems like the reshoots are cutting it a bit close with the movie only coming out in a couple of months.

As far as the reasons for the shoots go, there are reports that early test screenings of the film didn't go very well.

Deadpool 2 Testing Very Poorly, Fox Stunned By Audience Reactions
Sandwiched between two bona fide titans in Avengers: Infinity War and Solo, Deadpool 2 no longer faces the tricky task of opening under the shadow of a Star Wars film, while the move away from the original’s February release window is indicative of Fox’s box office ambitions. It also means that the sequel will have a tougher time due to the increase in competition.

Will it be able to achieve the same glory that its predecessor did, then? That remains to be seen, but at the moment, things aren’t looking too good. And that’s because we’re learning today that test screenings have begun and unfortunately, audiences don’t seem to be taking to the film too well, with the studio apparently stunned by their reactions. Before we go any further, we advise taking this all with a grain of salt, as test screenings aren’t always...

Is Deadpool 2 Test Screening Poorly?
Fox has held at least one test screening for Deadpool 2 over the weekend and the responses were reportedly not very good, with one anonymous source calling it a "big mess." It's important to note that much of this information comes from anonymous sources and this is all very much a rumor at this point. Plus, viewers at test screenings are all required to sign a non-disclosure agreement, which prohibits them from talking about the early cut of the movie that they saw. That being said, there could be some potential Spoilers for Deadpool 2 ahead, so read at your own risk.

Blogger Jeremy Conrad took to Twitter over the weekend to announce that someone close to him saw a test screening for Deadpool 2 and revealed that the initial reaction was not what he expected to hear. He said, "Fox screened Deadpool 2 tonight (not Dark Phoenix again) and...yikes! First reaction wasn't what I expected to hear.
