Outlast (2023)
‘Outlast’ Season 2 Trailer Promises Another Life-Threatening Alaskan Adventure: ‘They’re Dropping Like Flies’ | Video
Outlast (2023)
“Outlast” has officially survived its hiatus as Netflix dropped the Season 2 trailer on Wednesday morning.

After a truly diabolical first season, 16 new survivalists have once again been dropped into the Alaskan frontier to battle the elements — and each other — for their share of the $1 million prize.

What sets “Outlast” apart from similar shows like “Survivor,” “Race to Survive” and “Alone” is that these lone-wolf contestants can only keep playing and ultimately win if they’re part of a team … except you can change teams at will, if they’ll have you. That leads to legitimate drama and backstabbing for those who figure out how to play the game within the game.

“This is a life-threatening situation,” one contestant admits in the trailer. “I am so scared.”

“Money can make people pretty evil,” another warns, while a third adds, “Sometimes, you’ve got to be the bad guy.”

This year’s contestants are Brendon Ash,...

Image
Netflix has revealed the trailer and cast for Outlast Season 2, a thrilling competition in which 16 lone wolf experts are dropped in the Alaskan wilderness and must outlast each other in a battle for a million-dollar payout.

Outlast Season 2, which will consist of eight 45-minute episodes, will premiere on the streaming service on September 4, 2024. The first six episodes will be available on Sept. 4, and the last two episodes on Sept. 11.

Netflix says that there is only one rule in the cutthroat game of Outlast: The contestants must be part of a team to win.

The contestants include Bayardo (Bayo) Hernandez, Brendon Ash, Bri Walston, Deontre (Tre) Thomas, Drake Vliem, Drew Haas, Emily Johnston, Eric Shevchenko, Joey Didesidero, Joseph Malbrough, Julio Laboy, Meghan Buchanan, Sammy Norris, Tina Grimm, Tonia Willman, and Zach Owens.

The executive producers include Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan, and Emma Ho for Aggregate Films, Ryan O’Dowd and Krystal Whitney for BBC Studios,...

'Kung Fu Panda 3' Takes the Weekend Box Office with $41M
Kate Hudson, Jack Black, and Bryan Cranston in Kung Fu Panda 3 (2016)
While January isn't typically a big month for box office blockbusters, there can be the occasional movie that opens big. Two weeks ago, Ride Along 2 breathed some life into the new year with a respectable $35.2 million opening frame, but last weekend, it dropped a whopping 64.7% and slipped from first to third place, with the holdover The Revenant taking the top spot in its fifth week in theaters. This weekend is shaping up to be the biggest frame of the new year so far, with three heavily-promoted new releases, Kung Fu Panda 3, Fifty Shades of Black and The Finest Hours. Box Office Mojo is reporting that Kung Fu Panda 3 took the top spot at the box office with $41 million.

Kung Fu Panda 3 is expected to easily take the top spot with a projected $48 million, which isn't terribly surprising given this franchise's pedigree of critical acclaim and box office success.

'Fifty Shades of Black' Cast Share Their New Year's Resolutions
Jane Seymour, Marlon Wayans, Mike Epps, Kali Hawk, Affion Crockett, Jenny Zigrino, and Andrew Bachelor in Fifty Shades of Black (2016)
One of the early box office hits this year was Universal's Fifty Shades of Grey, which took in over $500 million worldwide, and set the pace for the studio's record-breaking year. Unfortunately for fans of this movie, and the E.L. James novel it's based on, the sequel Fifty Shades Darker won't be hitting theaters until February 2017, but Open Road Films has a new movie that could help to fill the void, Fifty Shades of Black. The studio is helping fans kick off 2016 in the right way, with a video featuring New Year's Resolutions from Christian Black (Marlon Wayans).

These resolutions include "Become a Better Person," "Be More Generous," "Drink Less Alcohol," "Eat Healthier," "Explore New Cultures" and "Always Be Prepared." Along with these resolutions, we also get some new footage from this spoof comedy, featuring Marlon Wayans and his co-stars Kali Hawk, Mike Epps, Affion Crockett. While this movie is obviously...
