Estrada (This Fool) will star in Forklift, a new single-camera comedy in the works at the network, according to our sister site Deadline. Estrada will also co-write and executive-produce the series about a forklift driver who gets promoted to warehouse supervisor and “finds that upward mobility comes with a cost when his friends and co-workers go from viewing him as their brother to now being part of Big Brother.”

Exclusive: Odeya Rush has been cast as a series regular opposite Patrick Dempsey, Michael Imperioli and Richard Harmon in the new Fox drama series Memory of a Killer, from Warner Bros Television and Fox Entertainment, which is slated to premiere in midseason.

From writers Ed Whitmore and Tracey Malone, Memory of a Killer is inspired by the award-winning 2003 Belgian thriller De Zaak Alzheimer (La Memoire Du Tueur) and follows Angelo Ledda (Dempsey), a hitman who is leading a dangerous double life while hiding an even deadlier personal secret: He has developed early-onset Alzheimer’s.

Rush will play Maria, Angelo‘s daughter. Married young and pregnant, it seems she’s chosen a quiet life. But something stirs in her – a yearning for adventure. Might she be a chip off the old hitman block? Angelo is Maria’s everything, so when his mind begins to falter, she’s right there by his side to care for him.

Sasha Lane (Hellboy 2019) and Elias Kacavas (“Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin”) have been cast in the satirical horror-thriller Corporate Retreat, Variety reports.

They join an ensemble that includes Lilly Krug (Plane), Rosanna Arquette (Pulp Fiction), Ashton Sanders (Moonlight), Alan Ruck (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off), Simona Tabasco (“The White Lotus”), and Odeya Rush (Goosebumps).

Described as “a gory mix of The Menu and Saw,” the film centers around a group of corporate executives whose team-bonding trip turns into a bloody fight for survival against a vengeful retreat leader.

Currently in production in Los Angeles, Aaron Fisher (Inside the Rain) is directing from a script he co-wrote with Kerri Lee Romeo.

“American Honey” breakout Sasha Lane and “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3” star Elias Kacavas have joined the cast of the horror-satire “Corporate Retreat.” The pair will appear in an ensemble that includes Alan Ruck (“Succession”), Rosanna Arquette (“Pulp Fiction”), Ashton Sanders (“Moonlight”) and Odeya Rush (“Lady Bird”). The film is currently shooting in Los Angeles.

Lane’s recent credits include “Twisters” and “How to Blow Up a Pipeline,” as well as the limited series adaptation of Sally Rooney’s “Conversations With Friends”.

Kacavas recently starred in the “Pretty Little Liars” reboot series. He also starred in the film “Winter Spring Summer or Fall” alongside Jenna Ortega, and was also featured in the HBO series “Euphoria.”

Benjamin Norris and Zión Moreno have joined the horror-satire “Corporate Retreat.”

Norris is best known for his recurring role as Trent Harrison in the award-winning TV series “Never Have I Ever” and his performance in the second season of the Disney+ show “Andor.” Most recently, Moreno played Luna La in the “Gossip Girl” reboot and Heather in the Hulu feature film “Prom Dates.”

They round out an ensemble that includes veterans like Alan Ruck (“Succession”), Rosanna Arquette (“Pulp Fiction”), Simona Tabasco (“White Lotus”), Ashton Sanders (“Moonlight”), and Odeya Rush (“Lady Bird”). Making horror stories for kids is a tricky balancing act, but many modern TV series have become more and more adept at it. Many of the scariest TV shows for kids are the products of the late 80s and early 90s, in which spooky content for younger audiences was slightly more commonplace. After a brief lull, more modern series of the late 2010s and early 2020s have dared to venture back into the children's horror space, providing thrills and chills to younger viewers.

Scary kids' shows typically come in one of two flavors. Some are simply standard animated series that aren't afraid to get a little more adult or mature with their themes, frequently delving into horror or mystery territory in between more lighthearted comedy. The more common variety of kids' horror shows is the horror anthology series, already a proven format for adults thanks to series like Black Mirror and The Twilight Zone.

The house of Armani always has a strong showing at the Venice Film Festival — this is Italy, after all — and that was even more true on Friday night at Palazzo del Cinema. A parade of stars in Armani ensembles assembled on the red carpet ahead of the world premiere of Babygirl, the erotic thriller from Halina Reijn starring Oscar winner Nicole Kidman.

Filmmaker Jonathan Glazer's speech at the Oscars sparked controversy, and now more than 500 Jewish filmmakers, artists, and producers in Hollywood have written a letter denouncing him. Famous signatories, including Eli Roth and Jennifer Jason Leigh, denounce Glazer for equating Nazism with Israeli actions. Glazer's film, The Zone of Interest, won the Oscars for Best International Film and Best Sound and is considered a masterpiece. His speech called for peace and criticized the dehumanization of any group.

It's been eight days since MovieWeb was at the 96th Academy Awards, and there are still thunderous rumbles in Hollywood over the Best International Film acceptance speech given by Jonathan Glazer for The Zone of Interest. While the speech (which was misleadingly misquoted by Variety and other outlets) may seem harmless to many people, decrying any act of dehumanization and murder, be they committed by Nazi or Hamas, Israeli or Houthi, American or Iranian.

It’s the execution that matters in thrillers, and Dangerous Waters is one film that dwindles a lot in that department. Directed by John Barr, the film is one of the last performances by Ray Liotta, and this movie is dedicated to his memory. Besides that, the interesting part about this movie is that there is a lot of emphasis on grit and survival in the plot. The whole film screams of being a low-budget cult film, but there just isn’t that ‘x factor’ present to make it so. Odeya Rush, Eric Dane, and Saffron Burrows are good performers who understand the tone of the film, and they are cast quite brilliantly, but the structure and believability of the scenario of the film don’t do justice to the otherwise decent thriller.

Dangerous Waters is one of the most underrated thrillers of the year so far, a tense survival action film focused on a damaged young woman who learns to fight for her right to live despite a bevy of predators trying to dominate her, not to mention the natural elements. Odeya Rush plays Rose, a working class woman who goes on a Bermudan vacation with her mother and her mother's new boyfriend, played by Eric Dane. When pirates ambush the ship, she is forced to use her wits to survive as Dangerous Waters takes viewers from a small yacht, to an abandoned island, to a dangerous pirate ship.

Director John Barr spoke to MovieWeb about the film, which contains Ray Liotta's final performance. Liotta passed away during the production, but his appearance here is unforgettably haunting, and Barr has captured not just history but a fitting testimony to one of the greats.

During an interview with MovieWeb, published online Tuesday, the filmmaker praised the Goodfellas star as an actor and detailed his final scene in one of his last movie roles, saying it “was super impressive to watch.”

Liotta died last year at the age of 67. His rep told The Hollywood Reporter at the time that he died in his sleep in his hotel room while in the Dominican Republic shooting the movie.

“What he achieves in a six- or seven-minute span is just art,” Barr said. “The arc that he goes through, from innocent to terrifying, it’s so powerful, and it’s a testament to how incredible he was as an actor.”

Dangerous Waters is a notable release for the fact that it’s Ray Liotta’s very final turn, though it should also be commended for an impressive leading performance too, from Israeli-American actress Odeya Rush. To mark the film’s release we had the pleasure in speaking to her via Zoom, as she talks about the challenges in shooting a film that requirs such physicality, and her own thoughts on the action genre.

Ray Liotta (Goodfellas) passed away back in May of 2022 while he was in the Dominican Republic for the filming of the thriller Dangerous Waters. A year following his passing, Ray Liotta‘s cause of death has been revealed. The 67-year-old actor died in his sleep from pulmonary edema and acute heart failure, according to reports. Documents obtained say the Goodfellas star had fluid in his lungs, suffered from respiratory issues, and his death was “categorized as natural and nonviolent.” Reports also state Liotta was battling atherosclerosis, which builds up thick plaque in the arteries. The New Jersey native died in May 2022 while filming the movie Dangerous Waters in the Dominican Republic. The actor is survived by his fiancée Jacy Nittolo and his now-24-year-old daughter, Karsen. The thriller Dangerous Waters has yet to be released and is directed by John Barr. Eric Dane, Saffron Burrows, and Odeya Rush also co-star. The Cocaine Bear actor received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame posthumously in February 2023, with his daughter paying tribute to her father.

Exclusive: Euphoria‘s Eric Dane will star alongside Kj Apa in the motorcycle racing film One Fast Move, from Gulfstream Pictures and Luber Roklin Entertainment, which has entered production in Atlanta.

In the action-adventure pic from writer-director Kelly Blatz, a dishonorably discharged soldier (Apa) seeks out his estranged father (Dane) to help him pursue his dream of racing Supersport motorcycles. While training, he meets a small-town aspiring singer who begins to break down the walls his father’s absence had built up. Gulfstream Pictures is providing full financing for the film, with Mike Karz and Bill Bindley producing for the company, in association with Matt Luber and Lena Roklin of Luber Roklin Entertainment.

One Fast Move is Gulfstream’s second project with Luber Roklin, following the Josephine Langford-led rom-com The Other Zoey, with Drew Starkey, Archie Renaux, Andie MacDowell, Heather Graham and Patrick Fabian, which is currently in post-production.
