Did you hate the ending of "Game of Thrones?" You're not alone! Most fans, including myself, think that final season — and its series finale, "The Iron Throne" — was dreadful, rushed garbage, even if there are some defenders amongst my lovely colleagues here at /Film. Apparently, "the show's finale-haters can include Natalia Tena in our club.
Tena, who played the wildling Osha on the series until her character was violently killed off in the show's sixth season, told Kate Thornton on her podcast, "White Wine Question Time," in 2019 that she lost her patience with "Game of Thrones" partway through its final season and basically just flew into a rage after that. As Tena told Thornton, she was pretty much on board with the whole thing up until the episode where Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) saves humankind by slaying the Night King (Vladimir Furdyk), the event that marks the halfway point of that final season.

With the 2025 Emmy Awards announcing their nominees this morning, we’ve finally had time to catch our breath and read over the nominees. In the process, we found several snubs that are not only surprising but will age terribly in the years ahead. Check out our list and let us know if any big ones are missing.
2025 Emmy Snubs and Surprises Snub: An Only Murders Lead Bloodbath
The duo of Martin Short and Steve Martin gained new life with the arrival of Selena Gomez. The trio has become one of the great comedic teams in recent memory, allowing Gomez to shine by offering a laconic humor compared to the massive performances from Short and Martin. However, with only Short grabbing a nomination for the 2025 Emmys, we’re a little baffled. It’s possible both could have made the list in a year of six nominees, but unfortunately, we can never know if that is true.

The Waif in Game of Thrones was one of the most underexplored yet controversial characters, especially with how she was portrayed on screen. It not only affected the accuracy of the adaptation, but it also ruined Arya Stark’s training with the Faceless Men.
The show depicted the Waif as an acolyte serving in the House of Black and White in Braavos. She demonstrated immense hatred towards Arya and possessed a cold demeanor, which made her very unlikable, especially to the viewers.

Tony Gilroy has opinions about Rogue One's Jyn Erso, and according to his latest one, Andor's Vel Sartha would've disliked her.

"I’d want Faye Marsay’s Vel there for sure. My God, think of Vel’s take on Jyn Erso! I’m sure she’d have some very choice things to say about her. Jyn would light up all of Vel’s irritation.”
Like most of Gilroy's takes on Rogue One, I disagree with his opinion that Vel, or anyone, would find Jyn Erso irritating. Gilroy didn't explain why he thinks Vel would've been irritated by Jyn. As if the series itself was not enough, the Fight Club actor’s name in the credits shook everyone, as he was the show’s executive producer, making it even better.

It's been five whole years since Disney+ arrived in the UK, changing the streaming game almost overnight and making the daily struggle to choose what to watch next that bit harder. (We know — poor us!) Armed with the Infinity Gauntlet of IP — Marvel, Disney, Star Wars, Pixar, and Fox — and an ever-growing catalogue of offerings pooled from elsewhere, the House of Mouse has created a veritable content utopia where there truly is something for everyone. How many other platforms do you know where you can observe the mechanics of fascism and the cost of revolution through the lens of Star Wars (Andor), cross the Polynesian horizon with a demigod (Moana 2), see Timmy C rock out as a rebel youth Bob Dylan (A Complete Unknown), and see Vikings go toe-to-toe with the Predator (Predator: Killer Of Killers) all without having to switch streamers?

If you have ever heard the phrase “sex sells,” then you probably know how true that statement is, and it’s no different for the streaming king Netflix. They know that while they can make great shows with complex and entertaining stories, at the end of the day, they will also have to make some interesting erotic films and TV shows to attract more viewers and to incentivise the current audience members to stay subscribed to the streaming service. This was proved by Netflix buying the 365 Days film series, which stayed on Netflix’s Top 10 list for multiple weeks. That’s why we are here to tell you the sexiest movies and TV shows you can watch on Netflix right now.

This article contains spoilers for the end of "Andor" season 2.
The gap between "Andor" seasons 1 and 2 left plenty of space for fans to theorize as to what the second installment of the "Star Wars" series might bring. And while it was always pretty clear that Bix Caleen (Adria Arjona) would continue to play a major role in the story, Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), many might not have guessed just how central their romance arc would be to "Andor" season 2. Cassian's relationship with Bix is, in many ways, the emotional core of the season, and by extension, the show, exploring how two people caught in impossible circumstances can make both devastating decisions and unbreakable bonds.
The end of "Andor" season 2 sees Bix safely escape the violence of the war against the Empire, and also that she gave birth to a child with Cassian. It's a beautiful moment, but one that...

In the days that followed the series finale of Andor, I had the opportunity to catch up with Diego Lunaand have a lengthy conversation about his journey with the series. Ahead of the release of our career-spanning profile on Luna, I’m excited to share a snapshot of the interview that speaks directly to one of the best aspects of Tony Gilroy’s critically acclaimed series. When Andor debuted in 2022, the series introduced a whole slate of brand-new characters who were within Cassian Andor’s (Luna) orbit in the lead-up to his tragic fate in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Among those characters was Bix Caleen (Adria Arjona), a headstrong mechanic on Ferrix who shared a deep history with Cassian.
In the jump between Season 1 and Season 2, Cassian and Bix’s on-again-off-again relationship restarted once more, and became a central focus of the final season. While discussing Cassian’s...

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for Andor Season 2.
Now that all episodes of Andor Season 2 have been released, it felt like the perfect time to rewatch Season 1. While I have rewatched Season 1 before, this was my first time since having the context of knowing everything that happens in Season 2. Having this context made me see much of the show and many of the character interactions through a different lens.
Given everything that happens in Season 2, every episode now has scenes that hit differently. This is not an exclusive list by any means, but these are 6 of the moments that had a particularly strong impact on me the second time around.

Philip Barantini’s Adolescence created quite a stir among viewers when it landed on Netflix back in March. The show’s brutal depiction of adolescent minds going astray due to a lack of proper guidance received broad praise from the audience and critics alike.
The audience’s love, in turn, transformed into enviable streaming numbers, and Adolescence is currently on the verge of dethroning one of Netflix’s major crowd pullers from its coveted second spot.
As per reports, Barantini’s realistic social series is just 500,000 views shy of occupying the spot for Netflix’s second-most-watched English-language show of all time, dethroning Millie Bobby Brown’s Stranger Things in the process.

The ball is now rolling to see if Andor will get the big prize: The Emmys. It's been announced that Disney has submitted the series to 23 categories.
Reported by Variety, the Star Wars show is eying the big prizes of Outstanding Drama Series, Directing For A Drama Series, Writing For A Drama Series, and several acting categories. The main focus seems to be around Season 2, episode 8, "Who Are You?" and episode 9, "Welcome to the Rebellion," which focused on the Ghorman Massacre and its aftermath, with Mon Mothma fleeing the Senate. This makes sense as these were the highest praised episodes of the series from fans and critics alike.
Diego Luna is now in the running for Lead Actor In A Drama Series, which Variety also notes might not be Luna's only nomination this year. He's also been submitted for supporting actor (limited series) for the Hulu show La Máquina. It...

Take out your Lightsabers and cross your fingers because Disney+ just hit the Emmy dream by officially submitting Andor Season 2 for not five, not ten, but 23 Emmy categories! Yep, the highly political Star Wars spin-off is ready to fight for that shiny golden trophy.
After Andor Season 1’s strong Emmy debut, earning eight nominations in 2023, Disney+ seems to be confident about this year’s campaign resonating better with voters, and maybe even securing a win. Therefore, from the Outstanding Drama Series to the directing and writing nods, the show aims to dominate the Emmy event. With voting starting June 12 and nominations dropping July 15, let’s check out at least one category where Andor Season 2 must conquer.

Let’s be honest, after Mon Mothma’s monologue in season 2 episode 9 of Andor, we all had the goosebumps moment.

Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy discusses another one of the sophomore season's cut stories, or in this case, just reduced. Andor season 2 covers four years of time, leading up to the events of Rogue One. Several episodes depict the tensions and power plays that ultimately result in the Ghorman Massacre. In Andor season 2, episode 6, the more experienced rebel operatives Vel (Faye Marsay) and Cinta (Varada Sethu) lead the burgeoning Ghorman front in stealing Imperial weapons to prove that the Empire is planning a military takeover of the planet.
While the timeline of the second season meant some plot points were cut, it has been revealed that funding also played a role. In an interview with Backstory Magazine, Tony Gilroy said that the weapons robbery on Ghorman was initially a train heist, with a much bigger set piece. However, he argues that it was ultimately better for the story that this was...

From getting her scenes cut in Revenge of the Sith to becoming a lead cast in what is undoubtedly the best Star Wars TV show, Genevieve O'Reilly's Mon Mothma has come a long way. Despite being a Rebel Alliance High Council member, Mon was barely noticeable in the prequels and was overshadowed by Padme Amidala and Bail Organa in the few episodes of The Clone Wars in which we see her.
But Andor forces you to sit up and take notice of this soft-spoken yet strong-willed Senator with irrefutable faith in democracy, who does not shy away from calling a spade a spade, or in her case, a genocide a genocide.
In Andor Season 2, Mon is rescued from the Senate by Cassian (Diego Luna) and taken to the Coruscant safehouse after her open defiance of the Empire in a rousing speech. From there, she is expected to make a...

Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy has revealed that he did consider including a cameo from one of the original Star Wars trilogy's leads, Princess Leia Organa, in the second season, but the idea was ultimately scrapped.
"There were some conversations early on, there was much to be made. This is in the sketching stage," Gilroy told ScreenRant. "This is in the really soggy beginning, trying to figure out what to do because trying to figure out, I was trying to make that Investiture Week I idea. I was trying to get the most out of that investiture week and those parties, and we have Alden's party now… and we're making a thing out of it. Spoiler Alert: This story includes spoilers for the “Star Wars” series “Andor” and feature film “Rogue One,” both currently streaming on Disney+.
From its inception, “Andor” was designed by creator Tony Gilroy to chronicle what leads rebel spy Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) up to the events of the 2016 “Star Wars” feature film “Rogue One,” which Gilroy co-wrote. In that film, Cassian learns about a high-ranking Imperial officer, Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen), leaking a message to his daughter, Jyn (Felicity Jones), about the existence of a top secret super-weapon, aka the Death Star. Knowing he had to connect the numerous storytelling plot strands from “Andor” into the movie’s complicated plot made Gilroy anxious for years. It turns out, he needn’t have worried. “That shit laid down really clean,” he tells Variety with a grin. “It presented itself without the incredible amount of effort that was anticipated.”

Major spoilers ahead for the "Andor" season 2 finale.
"Andor" is a miracle of television -- an immaculately written, acted, designed, and shot series that is unlike anything we've ever seen before in the "Star Wars" universe, yet works precisely because it takes place in the nearly 50-year-old franchise. Showrunner Tony Gilroy and his team have done something special in pulling back the curtain on the fight against the Empire and showing the human cost of freedom, the individuals who made their minds a sunless space and burnt their lives to make a sunrise they knew they'd never see.
Throughout "Andor" season 2, we saw the birth of the Rebel Alliance as we know it from "Rogue One": a brittle union made out of groups with vastly different approaches and ideologies constantly clashing with one another. Every episode of "Andor" added nuance not only to "Rogue One," but to the entire "Star Wars" franchise at large,...

This post contains spoilers for all of "Andor" season 2.
I wonder sometimes how we would view the first decade of Disney's ownership of Star Wars as a whole if it weren't for "Andor." The sequel trilogy, which started strong, ended with the most universally disliked film in franchise history. A new streaming era on Disney+ kicked off with a fantastic spin-off in "The Mandalorian," then slowly devolved with less stellar entries like "Obi-Wan Kenobi" and "The Book of Boba Fett." I like "The Bad Batch" and "Tales of the Jedi" as much as the next guy, but the flagship Star Wars stories just started to seem like bad bets. And then "Andor" arrived in 2022, and as far as I'm concerned, none of that other stuff really matters.
It may seem like I'm being hyperbolic, but bear with me. "Andor" is over now, with the final three episodes of season 2 hitting Disney+ this week,...

Note: This article contains spoilers from “Andor” Season 2, Episodes 10-12.
Ever since he was introduced in “Andor” Season 1 as one of the rebellion’s key founders, “Star Wars” fans have wondered what the ultimate fate of Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgård) would be. There was no way, surely, that he could have lived through the events of the Original Trilogy, in which the Rebel Alliance mounts its war against the Galactic Empire, without ever being mentioned or shown.
To “Star Wars” fans, that seeming impossibility meant all along that it was unlikely Luthen would make it to the end of “Andor” alive. Those fans are proven correct in “Andor” Season 2, Episode 10, which says the goodbye to Luthen that both he and viewers long ago accepted was inevitable. The good news? Even when he finds himself completely cornered, Luthen still manages to go out on his own terms in “Andor.”

The final season of Andor has been a jaw-dropping, galactic exploration of resistance against the ever-expanding forces of authoritarianism, particularly the erosion of civil rights, the undermining of peaceful transfers of power, propaganda, attacks on the free press, and colonialism.
The performances by Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgård, and Genevieve O’Reilly have been nothing short of Emmy-worthy. The final episode is enthralling, ratcheting up an incredible amount of tension. It’s a fitting conclusion to a prequel of one of the greatest films in Star Wars history.

This post contains spoilers for "Andor."
The latest season of "Andor" has been steadily gaining momentum, with its first six episodes already laying a sturdy foundation for the inevitable. It is certainly not easy to sustain tension when the end of an arc is a foregone conclusion, which is very much the case with Cassian (Diego Luna), who dies a martyr in "Rogue One." Although Cassian's fate is written in stone, we still care deeply about his evolving ethics in "Andor" and how he will arrive at his preordained future. Moreover, "Andor" has never shied away from the visceral discomfort of being part of the rebel cause, which comes with its own set of moral conundrums that demand constant and unflinching sacrifice. As a result, the Rebellion means something different for everyone, even if the end goal is to topple the Empire for good.

Star Wars: Andorcreator Tony Gilroy explains why being teased by his own son was a game-changer for the series.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Gilroy recalled how his son's chiding was directly responsible for the evolution of a fan-favorite line from the hit series - "Rebellions are built on hope." The line, which has become something of a rallying cry for the series, has been uttered by numerous characters in Andor, though it wasn't until Gilroy's son questioned where the line came from that the showrunner considered its origins in and of themselves.
"One day he's there at the house and he's goofballing on me, and he's like, 'Well, who's going to introduce 'rebellions are built on hope?' And I go, 'What do you mean," Gilroy recalled. "He goes, 'Well, in Rogue One, Diego says it. And Jyn repeats it.' And I go, 'Well, isn't that from somewhere?' He goes,...

The third arc of Andor season 2 is some of the best Star Wars TV ever made. The sense of impending doom leading up to the Ghorman massacre, intertwined with the eerie background score and Les Misérables-esque chorus in Episode 8, is perhaps showrunner Tony Gilroy’s most ambitious masterpiece.
Episodes 8 and 9 are currently rated 9.8 on IMDb, making them the show's highest-rated episodes to date. Season 1's "One Way Out" has a 9.5 rating.
The writer of this three-episode arc, Dan Gilroy, keeps the story poignant yet courageous and dares to drop words like “genocide,” but also delivers on the promised connections with the existing Star Wars lore.
From K-2So’s origin story to Mon Mothma’s Rebels connection, here are 10 Easter eggs from Andor season 2 episodes 7-9: "Messenger," "Who Are You?" and "Welcome to the Rebellion."

After obsessively hunting Diego Luna's Cassian Andor since the very first episode of Andor, Syril Karn finally got his hands on the Rebel pilot in season 2, episode 8 - but a moment's hesitation ended up costing him everything.
Towards the end of "Who Are You?," Syril learns the truth about the Empire's evil plans for Ghorman, and stumbles through the protestors in a daze before catching sight of Andor just as he's about to assassinate Dedra Meero.
Karn brutally attacks the man he views as his sworn enemy, ultimately managing to gain the upper hand when they are both knocked down by a nearby grenade blast. Syril is about to shoot his nemesis, but Andor's question - "who are you?" - causes him to hesitate, and he is shot dead by revolutionary leader Carro Rylanze.
A sad end for a pathetic, but fascinating character who realized far too late that...

Be ready to give up all chance at inner peace and make your mind a sunless space if you haven't watched episode 8 of "Andor" season 2, because there are major spoilers ahead.
One of the biggest magic tricks "Andor" pulls is make you forget it's a prequel. The problem with prequels is that, by knowing what's coming, the tension disappears. How can you surprise the audience when they know where things are headed? Where the "Star Wars" prequel trilogy focused almost entirely on just showing the origin of characters we knew and how they ended up where the audience first met them, "Andor" (and "Rogue One" before it) have a similar approach to the balancing act of the masterpiece that is "Better Call Saul."
Though we know where Cassian (Diego Luna), Mon Mothma (Genevieve O'Reilly) and Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker) end up, the surprises and tension rest on those characters whose fates we don't already know.

Note: This story contains spoilers from “Andor” Season 2, Episode 9.
“Andor” Season 2, Episode 9 featured the return of a couple members of the eventual Rogue One team but one is a bit less obvious than the other.
During the episode, Vel (Faye Marsay) is working with a clutch of new rebels and handing out – or back – their weapons. She gets to a distinct pistol and when she asks who it belongs to we get a long take on the latest Rogue One member to arrive at Yavin 4 – Ruescott Melshi (Duncan Pow).
Melshi has a big part to play in a few years when he joins Cassian (Diego Luna), Jyn (Felicity Jones), K-2So (Alan Tudyk) and the rest of Rogue One on their final mission to Scarif, but he also met Cassian years earlier “Andor” Season 1.
Here’s what you need to remember about Melshi and where he is going.
