‘Game of Thrones’ Cast Was So Shocked by Final Season Script — Almost Everyone Had Issues with It
Image
The ending of Game of Thrones shocked more than just the fans, it also took the cast by surprise. Emilia Clarke, who played Daenerys Targaryen, opened up to Entertainment Weekly about how she felt when she first read the final season’s script.

The fate of her character upset many viewers, and Clarke admitted that she had a hard time accepting it herself.

When Clarke learned that Daenerys would attack King’s Landing, killing thousands of civilians, and then be killed by Jon Snow, she couldn’t believe it. She had to read the script seven times before it sank in.

After that, she broke down and cried. She even went for a long five-hour walk to process what she was feeling. Clarke said, “What, what, what, What!? Because it comes out of f**king nowhere. I’m flabbergasted. Absolutely never saw that coming. […] I cried. And I went for a walk.

Jennifer Lawrence is one of the most talented actresses in Hollywood. Over the years, she has captivated us with her looks, demonstrated her acting prowess, and proven her versatility. She not only collected accolades but has also made quite a lot of money from her projects.

Despite starring in major franchises like The Hunger Games and X-Men, Jennifer Lawrence has remained remarkably low-key about her success. The Fate of Sophie Turner’s 81% Rotten Tomatoes Crime Series Has Been Decided
Image
Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner portrayed a struggling single mother who becomes an expert jewel thief in the critically acclaimed Joan, from Anna Symon. The series premiered on September 29, 2024, with the finale airing on October 14 of that year and was an instant hit, partly thanks to Turner’s beautiful performance. Given the reception, many may have expected an immediate renewal for the show, but that’s unfortunately not the case, as we’ve finally learned the fate of Joan ahead of the lead star's next project.

As confirmed by an ITV spokesperson via Radio Times, Joan won’t be returning for another run, even though "ITV and Snowed-In Productions would love to produce" a second installment. This is due to scheduling issues among the cast, as the rep added, "However, as a consequence of cast availability and following co-production discussions, it has meant a second series wasn't possible." What a bummer indeed,...

“Tasted of bleach….”: HBO Didn’t Show Emilia Clarke Any Mercy in Stomach-Churning ‘Game of Thrones’ Scene That’ll Still Make You Pukish
Image
Before she became the Mother of Dragons, Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen had to be strong for her husband Khal Drogo and their unborn son, who was the ‘stallion who mounts the world’.

Although the Targaryen princess had to ultimately make a deal with Mirri Maz Dur in exchange for a dying Khal Drogo, Daenerys Targaryen went through ups and downs, and with her, Emilia Clarke, too.

In an interview with HeyUGuys, Emilia Clarke was asked about the scene back in season one where she eats a raw horse’s heart without throwing up to prove her strength as a Khaleesi.

It was kind of like congealed jam! Sort of solidified jam but tasted of bleach with raw pasta running through it!

She continued,

I think I ate roughly 28 hearts in total throughout the days filming. Then the map that I was kneeling on had a lot of….. [remnants] and then...

Game Of Thrones Reunion In New Gothic Horror Movie Sets "Weird" Romantic Dynamic For Stars
Image
Game Of Thrones cast members are reuniting for an intriguing new horror movie, but one star says the romantic dynamic between their characters felt a little odd. Based on the A Song of Ice and Fire book series by George R. R. Martin, the fantasy drama remains one of the most popular HBO series of all time.

After premiering in 2011, the hit show came to a divisive conclusion in 2019 with season 8. Though the show may now be over, the world of Westeros lives on in the House of the Dragon spinoff show, with several more Game of Thrones spinoffs in the works, including A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight.

The main Game of Thrones cast, though, bid farewell to the franchise in 2019, their characters' arcs concluded. Many who appeared in the show have gone on to participate in various exciting projects in the world of TV and movies.

After Playing Siblings, Game of Thrones Stars Reunite as Lovers in New Film: 'It’s Really Weird for All of Us'
Image
Game of Thrones co-stars Sophie Turner and Kit Harington are great friends, and that often translates well to playing lovers on screen. There's just one problem... they previously played brother and sister.

Turner and Harington are set to star in The Dreadful, a gothic horror movie set during the Wars of the Roses - which was one of George R. R. Martin's historical inspirations for Game of Thrones. It's set to be a great replacement watch for those who miss Thrones, but Turner made it clear to Vogue recently that she and Harington wouldn't have a sibling relationship in the movie.

"I did a movie last year which I'm really excited about with my old but very good friend Kit Harington, who played my brother on Game of Thrones," Turner said. "We're doing a gothic horror… but we play lovers."

She pointedly added, "Sorry, guys. It's really weird for all of us.

Sophie Turner and Kit Harington will play lovers in new movie
Image
Sophie Turner and Kit Harington famously played Sansa Stark and Jon Snow on Game of Thrones, cousins who were raised thinking they were half-siblings. Either way, they're related. But that didn't stop a lot of fans from fantasizing about a potential romance between the two, especially after they reunited after a long separation in the sixth season and started working together. If you go to Archive of Our Own, the internet's foremost repository of fan-fiction, you'll find over 6,000 stories written about this pair. Does that tell us anything about Game of Thrones fans, about fan-fiction authors, about society's attitudes towards incest? I don't know; I'm just here to share interesting facts.

Anyway, this all brings us to The Dreadful, an upcoming horror movie set in medieval times starring Turner as a woman named Anne who lives on the outskirts of society with her mother-in-law, played by Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden.

‘Game of Thrones’ Star Sophie Turner Reveals the “Really Weird” Process of Playing Her On-Screen Brother’s Lover in ‘The Dreadful’
Image
For eight long, grueling seasons, as the House Stark seemingly crumbled under the weight of conspiracies from their enemies, Sophie Turner and Kit Harington played siblings, Sansa Stark and Jon Snow, in the critically acclaimed television series, Game of Thrones. By the time the series ended, they were half of a handful of Starks that had survived. The pair have reunited in The Dreadful, an upcoming gothic horror film written and directed by Natasha Kermani. Rather than play siblings, this time around Turner and Harington play lovers. Set against the backdrop of the 15th-century War of the Roses, the film sees Turner's character Anne's life changed when Harington, playing a figure from her past, returns.

Sansa and Jon endured varying ordeals in the HBO series, but in this gothic horror, romance will be their bond, not familial blood. And Turner is quite aware that it is quite weird. "I did...

Even Sophie Turner Feels Weird Playing the Lover of Her ‘Game of Thrones’ Co-Star in New Horror Movie

Sophie Turner and Kit Harington are playing lovers now, and yes, it’s actually happening. Their upcoming gothic horror movie, titled The Dreadful, pairs the Game of Thrones siblings in a romantic storyline that’s making fans roll their eyes. Through the eight-season storyline of Thrones, Jon and Sansa never even hugged properly, but now they’d be involved in a proper love affair. On their “weird” situation, the actress added via Vogue:

From Siblings to Lovers: Sophie Turner’s Romance With Kit Harington Will Be Unsettling for Game of Thrones Fans

Both Kit Harington and Sophie Turner played two iconic characters in ‘Game of Thrones,’ – Jon Snow and Sansa Stark. The two were raised as siblings despite the messed-up family tree, which is a staple for the fantasy show.

Why Jason Momoa’s Character Khal Drogo Was Removed From Game Of Thrones Despite Gaining Popularity?
Image
Game Of Thrones: Jason Momoa’s Khal Drogo Exit Wasn’t About Popularity ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Game of Thrones is based on a novel written by George R. R. Martin. The first five series have been closely adapted from the book series, ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’. The show was led by Emilia Clarke, who played Daenerys Targaryen, and it also featured a star cast, including Sean Bean, Sophie Turner, Kit Harrington, Maisie Williams, and many others in different important roles. One of the iconic characters was Khal Drogo, portrayed by Jason Momoa.

Despite gaining popularity in season 1, the makers couldn’t bring his character back for the next seasons. People who only watched the series and didn’t read the novel won’t know that Khal Drogo dies in the first book only. And as the makers were following the material from the book, they had to remove his character.

Rumor: Elle Fanning May Be In The Mix To Play Jean Grey In Marvel's X-men Reboot
Image
The news cycle has understandably been dominated by Superman over the past couple of weeks, so we thought we'd break things up a little with a good ol' X-Men casting rumor.

Now that Marvel Studios' long-awaited reboot has assigned a director in Jake Schreier (Thunderbolts*), casting is expected to begin very soon (if it hasn't already), and we now have another name to add to the list of actors that have been mentioned in connection with the key role of Jean Grey.

On this week's episode of The Hot Mic, Jeff Sneider mentioned that Elle Fanning might be in the mix to play the powerful mutant, who was previously portrayed in live-action by Famke Janssen in the original 20th Century Fox movies and Sophie Turner in X-Men: Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix.

Fanning's recent projects include A Complete Unknown, All The Bright Places, and Hulu's The Great, for which she...

Who Murdered Joffery: Game of Thrones Mystery Debunked
Image
At first, King Joffrey’s sudden and dramatic death at his own wedding in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones looked like something out of a war story, bloody revenge, maybe a rival house striking back.

But the truth was far less obvious and far more clever. The real mastermind wasn’t a general or some big, powerful guy, but Lady Olenna Tyrell, the sharp-tongued, sharper-minded matriarch of House Tyrell. And her motive was protection. She wasn’t after the Iron Throne. She was concerned about her granddaughter’s safety.

Joffrey wasn’t just cruel; he was reckless, erratic, and dangerous. Everyone in the kingdom saw flashes of his temper, but Olenna saw the long game. She realized that Margaery, married to someone like him, would be trapped in a brutal and possibly deadly marriage. Olenna didn’t waste time with warnings or hopes that Joffrey would change. Sophie Turner on Game of Thrones: “Best acting class I’ve ever had”
Image
Sophie Turner looks back on her time playing Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones with fondness and gratitude, revealing how her almost decade-long stint in the show helped hone her skills as an actress. Speaking on the Dish podcast, the British star reflected on her first major role experience:

I loved it. I did love making it. It was the best acting class I’ve ever had because I never had proper formal training, so I got to learn from the amazing actors around me, which was like, I felt like I won a competition. It was great. We were a family.

Turner was only 13 when she first appeared in Season 1, and little did she know her work on the hit fantasy series would only be the first of her many projects in the industry. Despite admitting Game of Thrones as her training ground for acting, she managed to deliver...

Sophie Turner "loved" working on Game of Thrones (but she never watched it)
Image
Sophie Turner became a successful actress at just 14 years old when she started playing Sansa Stark on HBO's once-in-a-generation fantasy hit Game of Thrones. She was 23 by her time as Sansa came to an end. Now 29, she looked back on the show during a visit to the Dish podcast.

“I loved it. I did love making it," Turner told hosts Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett. "It was it, it was like, it was the best acting class I’ve ever had. Cause I never had like proper, formal training, so I got to learn from the amazing actors around me, which was like, I felt like I’d won, you know, a competition or something.”

It was great. It was like we all were a family and the character I got to live with for 10 years, so it felt like we kind of merged into one person by the end of it.

Image
Tom Cruise & Spielberg’s War Of The Worlds Turns 20 ( Photo Credit – Wikimedia )

Between the 1980s and early 2000s, Hollywood rarely witnessed a pairing as commercially bulletproof as Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg. Cruise led a string of box office winners across genres, from jet-fueled dramas like Top Gun and Rain Man to espionage thrillers like Mission: Impossible. Spielberg restructured the modern moviegoing calendar, helming grand spectacles like Jaws while simultaneously excelling at smaller, emotional projects.

While each left an unmistakable impact on the global film market during their years of working in parallel, Cruise and Spielberg finally joined forces at the start of the millennium. One such collaboration, War of the Worlds, delivered a thought-provoking actualization right from the pages of H.G. Wells.

What Happens in War of the Worlds

War of the Worlds’ plot is a quintessential amalgamation of Cruise’s gritty adventures and Spielberg’s affection for alien-based stories.

Image

Tom Holland finds himself right in the middle of the swirling talk about who will step into the shoes of 007. The search for a new face to carry the license to kill is moving faster than ever, with Denis Villeneuve locked in as director for the 26th James Bond adventure. Villeneuve, who made waves with Dune, clinched the job over Edward Berger, Edgar Wright, Paul King, and Christopher Nolan’s brother, Jonathan Nolan, and now Amazon wants to keep the momentum going.

Amazon’s Plan For Bond 26 As Big Names Miss Out

Studio insiders have made it clear they’re eyeing a British actor under 30, and Tom Holland leads a wishlist that also features Jacob Elordi and Harris Dickinson, as per Variety. Elordi might be Australian, but George Lazenby’s Bond run already proved that non-Brits can land the gig if the charm is right.

What a Jon Snow Game of Thrones sequel series could fix (and what it couldn't)
Image
When Game of Thrones came to an end, a lot of people were thinking about how the universe might continue. It wasn’t surprising when we learned that HBO and Kit Harington were developing a Jon Snow sequel series, although it didn't end up going forward.

The door wasn’t completely closed on the idea of a Jon Snow spinoff series, but Kit Harington's recent update doesn't sound great. That's a shame, because while a sequel couldn't completely fix the issues with the final season of Game of Thrones, it could have righted a couple wrongs and been a fun adventure.

Almost 2 Million Signatures: Game of Thrones Season 8 Remake Petition Demands ‘Competent Writers’
Image
Six years on, Game of Thrones fans still haven’t let go of Season 8 and it’s not hard to see why. Nearly two million people have called for a remake, frustrated by rushed storytelling, dropped logic, and sidelined character arcs.

What began as a slow-burn epic ended with a sprint to the finish. Bran Stark’s sudden coronation, despite his detachment from power, left many baffled. Emotional payoffs were swapped for spectacle, and years of buildup unraveled in just a few episodes. For a show that defined prestige TV, the finale felt like a misstep too big to forget.

9 times Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon made you root for the wrong person
Image
One of the marks of a good show is if viewers can see things from both sides. During Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, it was easy to look at the villain and see their point of view. There were also moments when the heroes of the story did things that made you hope they’d die. You can say it’s a bit harsh, but you know it’s true. This article is going to show the top nine times this writer found himself rooting for the “wrong” person.

House of the Dragon season 2 Episode 5 9. Daemon Targaryen, in general

I’m starting hot with this one because Daemon is rarely wrong. Yes, he’s done a lot of questionable things (like dating his underage niece). But let’s be honest: no one is watching House of the Dragon without him. For that reason alone, I think that...

I Fully Agree With Who Game of Thrones Fans Voted ‘The Most Insufferable Character in All of Westeros’
Image
There were a lot of insufferable characters in Game of Thrones, characters we wished would vanish from the screen because their presence and personality didn’t add joy to our viewing experience. If there’s one figure that everybody hates, it’s Shae.

Introduced as a s*x worker and lover of Tyrion, Shae had taken up a significant amount of time and part in the story, largely affecting the Lannister lord’s fate. She wasn’t supposed to be likable, anyway, but there was something about this character that always got on viewers’ nerves.

Who plays Shae in Game of Thrones—and why do fans still loathe her? Sibel Kekilli in Game of Thrones / Credits: HBO

Shae was portrayed on television by German actress Sibel Kekilli. She had been in the industry for quite some time, but this was her most high-profile work. In Game of Thrones, Shae is...

Kit Harington: "There's no plan" to continue Jon Snow's story. "Maybe one day!"
Image
Kit Harington is best known for playing Jon Snow on Game of Thrones, and even six years after it ended, he gets asked about whether he might make a comeback. To be fair, he kind of tempted those questions when he came to HBO with an idea for a Jon Snow sequel show, a series that ended up being shelved. But to be even more fair, we were probably never supposed to know about that.

As of right now, Harington is out of the Jon Snow business. "No, there's no plan for any furtherance of the Game of Thrones story and there are currently no plans for any kind of furthering of Jon Snow," he told Mashable. "Who knows...maybe one day! I'm just pretty much taking everything I have at the moment. I'm being a dad."

Being a dad would keep just about anybody busy, but Harington is still working.

Tomb Raider | Hang on, the Amazon series may yet be alive
Image
Amazon looked to have pulled the plug on a Tomb Raider TV series – but the adventures of Lara Croft may now be back on.

It seems that the rumours regarding the demise of Amazon’s Tomb Raider series may have been premature. Back in April, the British tabloids put out a story suggesting that the project was dead – and there was some degree of supporting evidence to lend credence to that story.

Jennifer Salke – the head of Amazon Studios – had been shepherding the project through production and was now out of a job. Puck's Matthew Belloni – a regular Hollywood source – claimed that Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the series’ showrunner, still hadn’t delivered any scripts. There was also plenty of speculation that Amazon was looking to end its pricey production deal with Waller-Bridge, given that up until this point, none of her projects have come to fruition in the way the studio had hoped for.
