Under the Dome: Season Three for CBS Series
Those poor people of Chester's Mill aren't getting out just yet. CBS has renewed their Under the Dome TV show for a third season. It's expected that the new episodes will run next summer and that there will be 13 installments once again.

Under the Dome revolves around residents of Chester's Mill in Maine after a large transparent dome cuts them off from the world. The large cast includes Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lefevre, Natalie Martinez, Britt Robertson, Alexander Koch, Nicholas Strong, Colin Ford, Mackenzie Lintz, Jolene Purdy, Aisha Hinds, Dean Norris, Eddie Cahill, and Karla Crome.

Under the Dome: Season Two Ratings
Last summer, Under the Dome was a big success for CBS. How will season two do in the ratings? Will this Stephen King TV show be renewed for a third season or will it be cancelled instead? Time will tell.

Under the Dome revolves around residents of Chester's Mill in Maine after a large transparent dome cuts them off from the world. Those on the inside have to work to survive with limited resources and rising tension. The large cast includes Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lefevre, Natalie Martinez, Britt Robertson, Alexander Koch, Nicholas Strong, Colin Ford, Mackenzie Lintz, Jolene Purdy, Aisha Hinds, Dean Norris, Eddie Cahill, and Karla Crome.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new...

First Photos from Under the Dome Season 2
Season one of the CBS TV series Under the Dome, an adaptation of the Stephen King novel of the same name, ended on a very tense, throat-tightening note. Its return this summer, then, will likely sate the appetites of viewers who have been hungry for more misadventures in Chester’s Mill. We previously reported that Stephen King would write the premiere episode of the second season, and it looks like the show’s body-dropping drama will be back in full force.

In addition to writing the second season’s premiere episode, it’s likely that Stephen King will drop by the Sweetbriar Rose diner for a coffee cup cameo. The second season of Under the Dome premieres Monday, June 30 (10:00 – 11:00 Pm, Et/Pt) on CBS:

“Under The Dome tells the story of a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome.

CBS had their TCA appointment today, and they delivered a nice little gift to us: confirmation that Stephen King will be writing the Season 2 premiere of Under the Dome, and premiere dates for both that series and for its Amblin stablemate Extant.

Although many had speculated that the two would be airing as a sci-fi block, that is apparently not the case. That’s okay, spread out the sci-fi love, who knows who might be unsuspectingly snared!

Here are the deets:

Chicago – Another week of a hodge podge of new Blu-ray, DVD, and streaming releases that we call What to Watch. Looking for something new? Something very old? Something rare? Something from TV? There’s a little bit of everything and even a story about porn too. Check it out, ranked in how interesting I find them.

Intolerance

“Intolerance”

“Intolerance” would be a massive, amazing undertaking in 2013. Can you even put in perspective what it was like 100 years ago? Arguably one of the most important and influential silent films ever made, “Intolerance” runs almost three hours and covers centuries of storytelling. It’s a fascinating film both in the history of cinema and the way it addressed cultural concerns of the time. Cohen Media Group continues to expertly restore and highlight great films. They’re quickly rising the ranks of the most important Blu-ray studios working today.

Clip and TV Spot Help Us Prepare for Tonight’s Under The Dome Season Finale
All right, Under the Dome, bring it. You’ve promised us a giant cliffhanger plus some character “closure” in this season finale so let’s see what you’ve got. Barbie. Big Jim. Julia. Sheriff Linda. And the kids, Joe and Norrie, Angie and Junior. Will they all survive? Will we know by the end of the episode?

Sure we know you’ll be back next summer, hopefully paired up with another Steven Spielberg-produced sci-fi series, Extant. Of course we’re looking forward to next summer. But right now, we need some temporary closure. We are So Ready.

For finale prep, we have a neat little video made by Joe and Norrie while in jail, then the very cool-looking TV spot with little glimpses of what’s in store for us tonight.

Only Two Episodes Left For Under The Dome Season 1, Prepare With Clip and More
The signs are everywhere; Summer 2013 is winding down. The good and bad news about that is we can expect number 1 summer show Under the Dome to really crank up tonight before next week’s season finale.

Although the series has been renewed for a second season, remember that during the Comic-Con panel, showrunner Brian K. Vaughan promised we’ll find out the answers about “all the people up here” – meaning ostensibly Mike Vogel (“Barbie”), Dean Norris (“Big Jim”) and Rachelle Lefevre (“Julia”) but that they’ll hold a few secrets about the dome. I’m hoping for an anthology-type format, where next season’s characters are all different. It’s been hinted, but not promised.

We’ll have a better idea after tonight’s penultimate Season 1 episode, “Exigent Circumstances”. We were left dangling over quite a few cliffs at the end of last week’s episode: Is Barbie the Monarch,...

Clip and More for Under The Dome Shows the Creepiness Continue to Build

In fact, you can watch all of the episodes online now at cbs.com, so do it. Do it now. We’ll still be here when you get back.

Okay, all caught up? Here’s a reminder of the very interesting scene that ended last week’s episode:

See Creepy Quotient Get Higher in Clip and More For Under The Dome, Plus Live Chat Video
My favorite aspect of Under the Dome, and really of any show that features it, is the creepiness factor. I love creepy. Under the Dome offers an interesting look at what can happen to people in a captive environment, and features some great performances, but really it’s weirdness of the dome that rings my geeky bell.

Happily, we’re gonna get that this week, according to the TV spot and clip:

Nice Twist Coming in Tonight’s Under The Dome, See Clip and More
Tonight marks the start of the second half of the first season of the terrific Under the Dome, and they are not holding back. I love that this series gives us a new reveal every week. Check that out, after watching the fun featurette that asks the cast how they’d react if they were in their characters’ situations, and a nice little YouTube video ostensibly made by teen Joe. Under the Dome Gets a New Season, Comic-Con Panel Clips Hint at What’s to Come, Plus Blu-ray Details
During the Comic-Con panel for Under the Dome, showrunner Brian K. Vaughan warned that Season 1 “ends with a helluva a cliffhanger, so if we’re not lucky enough to get a ‘next season,’ you guys are just screwed.” Yikes. Well fortunately, that isn’t the case, as CBS today confirmed that it has picked up the show for another season.

We warned you recently that this might be the case, that the show that was marketed at least half-heartedly as a limited series might not actually be a limited series. But wait. American Horror Story is considered a limited series and a continuing series at the same time. And earlier in the panel Vaughan states that we’ll find out the answers about “all the people up here” – meaning ostensibly Mike Vogel (“Barbie”), Dean Norris (“Big Jim”) and Rachelle Lefevre (“Julia”) but that they’ll hold a few secrets about the dome.

Mare Winningham Ventures Under the Dome; Learn the Rules of Living in Chester's Mill
A new guest star has been announced for "Under the Dome," and along with that info we have a graphic that explains "The Rules" of what life is now like for the residents of Chester's Mill.

Per TV Guide, Mare Winningham will appear in at least one episode slated for late August. She will play Agatha, a seemingly warm woman acting as a caretaker for a house. She'll even welcome Big Jim (Dean Norris) into the home, but we'll learn that her intentions are anything but sincere as we discover her ties to the town.

"I'm thrilled to be working with Mare Winningham on 'Under the Dome'," said executive producer Neal Baer. "She's my good-luck charm: I worked with her on 'ER' as well as on 'Law & Order: Svu' (for which she was Emmy-nominated as Best Guest Actress). She brings truth and believability to every role,...

Exclusive: Jolene Purdy Gives Us a Peek Under the Dome
CBS seems to have a hit on its hands with the thriller "Under the Dome," and one of the stars of the show, Jolene Purdy, recently sat down with Dread Central to talk all about this exciting new series.

Genre fans will certainly remember Purdy from her work in the memorable film Donnie Darko, in which she played Cherita Chen. Purdy talked about her past, leading up to this great new role. "When I was younger, I started doing musical theater around second grade, and I just grew up loving musical theater," Purdy said.

"Then I had an audition for Donnie Darko, and it kind of opened my eyes to what it's like to not necessarily work in chronological order like a play on stage, focusing on story and character. And I've just chugged away at it ever since. Now I've gotten this great opportunity, and it's been amazing."

Stephen King Responds to Under the Dome Changes; Blu-ray Box Set Packaging Leaked
As is normally the case when a writer's book is adapted in any fashion, there are always changes to be made to the plot, the characters, etc. This usually infuriates some of these fans, and such is the case with CBS' "Under the Dome."

Today Stephen King took to his site to speak to fans about changes to his tale.

"For those of you out there in Constant Reader Land who are feeling miffed because the TV version of Under the Dome varies considerably from the book version, here’s a little story.

Near the end of his life, and long after his greatest novels were written, James M. Cain agreed to be interviewed by a student reporter who covered culture and the arts for his college newspaper. This young man began his time with Cain by bemoaning how Hollywood had changed books such as The Postman Always Rings Twice and Double Indemnity.

TV Review: Stephen King’s ‘Under the Dome’ Shows Promise on CBS
Chicago – Stephen King’s “Under the Dome” would have likely been a standard mini-series back in the day when such a thing happened on the networks in iterations like “It,” “The Stand,” and “Storm of the Century.” In a time when network mini-series are a lost form, CBS has taken the daring move of turning King’s book into a fully-formed, 13-episode Summer series, with the door apparently open for more beyond this initial arc.

Television Rating: 3.5/5.0

Will “Under the Dome” catch on with audiences looking for a warm weather alternative? I hate to say it but I don’t really know. There’s enough to like about the first episode but it was the only one sent for review and this is the kind of production that could fall into goofy plotting and silly dialogue soon. For now, I’m engaged, and more so then I thought I would...

What does the world do when the dome comes down? It’s the question everyone will be asking with the premiere of the new CBS drama Under The Dome, based on the Stephen King book. But for one extraordinary woman, she will see it as a puzzle and it will lead her to a fascinating discovery. In an exclusive interview, star Jolene Purdy talked about how her character Dodee Weaver becomes the most valuable person under the dome.

So what drew you to Under The Dome and the role of Dodee?

Jolene: I get really scared about sci-fi/horror stuff. My imagination goes crazy. So this was something completely out of my comfort zone. But at the...
