Sam Carlisle grew up in Illinois, attending Illinois Wesleyan University and graduating with a degree in theater performance, although her first love was film. After college, she immediately attended Southern Illinois University and obtained her law degree. She then moved to Georgia to be near family, and at that time started appearing in short films, commercials, and various theater productions, which led to appearances in prime-time television and feature films. She continues to pursue her first love of acting in both television and film. Her most notable roles include the no-nonsense speech coach to Alicia Vikander's character in The Glorias (2020), and as the chatty ex-con Belinda in Florida Girls (2019).
