Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson are Having a 'Dawson's Creek' Reunion on 'Happy Hours'
Image
I don't want to wait...to see Dawson's Creek alums Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson on the small screen once again! Deadline reported that Holmes will write, direct and star in an upcoming film series titled Happy Hours. And guess who's set to play her love interest? Her former on-screen boyfriend from Dawson's Creek, of course. That's right, Jackson and Holmes will reunite in the new dramedy, where the Dawson's Creek stars will play a couple who are trying to work through the "challenges of careers and family responsibilities and the pursuit of love," but there seems to be a series of obstacles standing in their way. Deadline describes the film trilogy as a "character-driven dramedy that explores the emotional journey of young lovers who reconnect as adults, with the connective thread of shared joys, loss, and hope."

And we couldn't think of two actors better suited for the roles.

2 Dawson’s Creek Stars Reunite For A Romantic Movie Trilogy
Image
Dawson's Creek is a coming-of-age teen drama that follows a tight-knit group of friends growing up in the fictional town of Capeside, Massachusetts. The series begins during their high school years and follows them into college. Created by Scream writer Kevin Williamson, it debuted in 1998 on The WB and ran for six seasons until 2003.

Alongside Buffy the Vampire Slayer and 7th Heaven, Dawson's Creek became one of The WB's defining shows that launched its young cast to global fame. The show has generally been recognized as a modern classic, earning spots on various "best of" lists over the years.

Dawson's Creek is also credited with sparking the wave of teen dramas that gained popularity throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s. Now, more than two decades after the series ended, two of its stars are reuniting for an exciting new project.

Katie Holmes to reunite with Joshua Jackson for Happy Hours, a trilogy which she will also write & direct
Katie Holmes
Katie Holmes is cooking up a little Dawson’s Creek reunion as Deadline reports that she’s set to write, direct, and star in Happy Hours, a feature film trilogy which just so happens to also star Joshua Jackson. The pair were both featured on Dawson’s Creek, with Holmes playing Joey Potter and Jackson playing Pacey Witter.

Happy Hours is described as “a story about two people (Jackson & Holmes) navigating their relationship within the challenges of careers and family responsibilities and the pursuit of love, despite life’s inevitable obstacles. It’s a character-driven dramedy that explores the emotional journey of young loves who reconnect as adults, with the connective thread of shared joys, loss, and hope.” I’m curious how this stretches out across three movies, but it will be fun to see the Dawson’s Creek duo reunite.

Production on the first installment of the trilogy is expected to begin...

‘Our Town’ Broadway Review: Jim Parsons Leads A Thornton Wilder Classic Unstuck In Time
Image
With so much turmoil in the world, it’s at least a little comforting that things haven’t changed much in Grover’s Corners, the place that gives Our Town, Thornton Wilder’s beloved 1938 report from Smalltown USA, its name. People there are born, love and die without so much as looking up to savor what they have. That’s life.

And while a check-in from the fictional New Hampshire town circa 1901-1913 is always a moving and welcome addition to anyone’s frazzled day, the new staging by Kenny Leon, opening on Broadway tonight at the Ethel Barymore Theatre with a cast that includes Jim Parsons, Katie Holmes, Richard Thomas, Billy Eugene Jones, Ephraim Sykes and Zoey Deutch, lacks the strong personality that would send it to the top of the many Our Towns that have staked claims on the world’s stages for nearly a century.

Leon, a...

“Thornton Wilder’s Our Town in my mind stands at the top of the Mount Rushmore of great American Theatre,” director Kenny Leon shared in a statement. “I feel blessed and fortunate to have gained the trust of The Wilder estate to present this classic to another generation of theatre lovers. It’s long been a burning desire to collaborate on a Broadway production of such magnitude that speaks so beautifully and intimately to all people about our shared time on the planet.”
