By the time the title card drops in “A Tourist’s Guide To Love” (ten minutes in — the Netflix rom-com equivalent of the 40-minute wait in “Drive My Car”), we know exactly what we’re in for: The heartbroken heroine at the film’s center is going to experience a life-altering perspective shift via romance when embarking on a work trip. Acting as a travelogue for Vietnam with an adorable romantic comedy happening in the foreground, this sweetly spirited story isn’t terribly dissimilar from the streamer’s other offerings like “Love in the Villa” or “Resort to Love,” sating any viewers suffering from stunted wanderlust. Funny, poignant and simultaneously progressive and regressive, it may not add up to five-star escapism, but it’s a jovial jaunt worth taking.

High-powered Los Angeles travel agent Amanda Riley (Rachael Leigh Cook) is used to going above and beyond for her clientele, but not necessarily for herself.

Take a trip and fall in love with Netflix's latest jet-setting rom-com, A Tourist's Guide to Love. The film centers on an executive for a tourist agency who, fresh off a surprise breakup, goes on assignment as an undercover shopper for her company to potentially acquire an independent agency in Vietnam. She quickly falls in love with the country and her expatriate tour guide, putting her in a tough spot between her romantic and professional lives.

Rachael Leigh Cook leads the cast of A Tourist's Guide to Love alongside Scott Ly, Missi Pyle, Ben Feldman, Nondumiso Tembe, Andrew Barth Feldman, Glynn Sweet, Alexa Povah, Jacqueline Correa and Morgan Lynee Dudley. While retaining many of the iconic tropes of the genre, the film is elevated by its unique portrayal of Vietnam through a non-war-torn lens.

This is half a Vietnamese production, as it is set in Vietnam when a woman heads there to learn about the tourist industry. The second season of the Six TV show is coming to History in the new year. In advance of season two, History's Executive Vice President for Programming, Eli Leher, has given a little update. Reportedly, season two is just finishing production, and the cable network is looking forward to "growing" the scripted series. Gordon Ramsay had the 6 Hell's Kitchen finalists duke it out at the first annual VIP Charity Night.  The red and blue teams had the challenge of making 3 dishes in just 30 minutes with the winners receiving a high-end shopping spree. The losing team, however, had to stick around to prep for the Black Tie Charity Event.
