Irish Wish Soundtrack Guide: Every Song & When They Play
Image
Irish Wish's magical soundtrack builds the setting perfectly, enhancing the escape into the story's charm. The stellar cast creates lovable characters, with Paul serving as the only antagonist. The diverse music selection adds depth to the viewing experience, making Irish Wish an enjoyable watch.

The songs in Netflix’s rom-com Irish Wish, combined with the original soundtrack, help build the setting in a magical way. Lindsay Lohan’s new movie tells the story of what happens when a woman gets her wish to marry the man of her dreams, but things don’t turn out as imagined. Though the movie was panned by critics, Irish Wish still has a certain charm that provides the perfect escapism. Part of this comes from its beautiful setting. Irish Wish was filmed on sight in Ireland, showing the many beautiful sights the country has to offer.

Additionally, Irish Wish includes a stellar cast...

Here Are All the Songs in ‘Irish Wish’
Lindsay Lohan
Early-aughts teen queen Lindsay Lohan is having a comeback moment, and her latest Netflix romance is here. The “Mean Girls” and “Freaky Friday” star previously teamed with the streamer on the hit holiday romance “Falling for Christmas.” Now, she’s back — along with director Janeen Damian — for the spring fling, “Irish Wish.”

Lohan stars as book editor Maddie who’s head over heels for the author she works with, Paul (Alexander Vlahos), until he falls in love with her best friend (Elizabeth Tan). Putting her feelings aside, Maddie travels to Ireland for their wedding, where sparks fly with a charismatic photographer (Ed Speleers) until an accidental wish turns her life upside down. She wakes up engaged to Paul and racing toward a walk down the aisle she’s not sure she wants anymore.

Like any good wedding playlist should be, the “Irish Wish” soundtrack is a mix of love songs and danceable,...

Great Job, Internet!: Watch this selection of perfectly constructed film scenes
There may never be a “perfect movie,” but there can be perfect moments within movies. YouTuber Jim Casey has taken the time to collect and organize some fine examples of such moments, and he’s turned them into a stirring, inspirational two-part series called “The Most Beautiful Shots In Movie History.” This is an elegant tribute to the visual power of cinema. And, make no mistake, it’s strictly the visuals that Casey is focusing on here; he includes no dialogue from the films he’s excerpting. This is, at heart, a tribute to the work of cinematographers, costume designers, and art directors, not screenwriters. Casey says he took his inspiration from this 2015 BuzzFeed article by Dan Dalton.

For its soundtrack, the first installment uses Caro Emerald’s poignant cover of Lou Reed’s “Perfect Day.” The usual suspects are represented here: Akira Kurosawa, Alfred Hitchcock, Quentin Tarantino, Stanley ...

Sweet Compilation of Cinema's Most Beautiful Shots
Here's a cool little video showing some of film's greatest shots on camera. While I think there are more than a few selections left out of the film, I can't really deny the validity of most of the shots that Jim Casey put in here! For those wishing to know the song, it's a cover of Lou Reed's "Perfect Day" performed by Caro Emerald!

Don Cheadle, Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce, and Paul Bettany in Iron Man 3 (2013)
Agent Carter Premiere Recap: These Dumb Guys
Don Cheadle, Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce, and Paul Bettany in Iron Man 3 (2013)
Like many of you, I went into Agent Carter with little to no expectation of what to find because, as Vulture’s Abraham Riesman recently wrote, Agent Carter has little to no history in the comics. This eight-hour miniseries is spun off from the one-shot short film included as a DVD extra for Iron Man 3. The show is set in “New York, 1946,” and doesn’t give much more historical background beyond that, but it demonstrates a 1940s postwar noir sensibility with an opening montage set to the faux-big-band-sounding “That Man,” by Dutch pop singer Caro Emerald. And so far, it’s the Marvel entity that reminds me most of what it was like to read old comics when I was a kid, primarily Phantom, Mandrake, and Tintin, or even Bruce Timm’s animated DC series – drawn in the old ink style and filled with felons, ne’er-do-wells, and obtuse villainy.

The Vampire Diaries to Roar Back to the 1920s
When we next tune in to The Vampire Diaries, we'll be taken back to 1912.

But producer Julie Plec has now teased another quasi flashback for the series, as viewers should prepare for an upcoming decade dance, this one with a 1920s theme.

"I swear I must've been a songbird in the 20's. This makes me Way too happy," Plec Tweeted Tuesday night, including a link to the song "That Man," a jazz track by Dutch singer Caro Emerald.

The Vampire Diaries, of course, showed us life for Klaus and Stefan back in the day on the third episode this season, "The End of the Affair." It introduced us to Chicago and is considered my many to be the best installment of season three.

In other words: we very much welcome another trip to the past, even if it takes place in the present.

'The Vampire Diaries' scoop: The decade dance brings back memories
It's that time of year again, "Vampire Diaries" fans! Mystic Falls High is having another decade dance, and this time, it's a callback to the beginning of this season. We've seen the '50s dance, and the '60s dance... and now we'll revisit Stefan's ripper days with a 1920's dance.

Executive producer Julie Plec tweeted about the dance late on Tuesday night, writing, "I swear I must've been a songbird in the 20's. This makes me Way too happy," with a link to the song "That Man" a jazzy, roaring-twenties style song by Dutch singer Caro Emerald.

Mystic Falls High School dances are always a good time... interrupted by death and trauma, obviously. We're hoping that the '20s theme brings our new favorite bromance back together... Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan), of course. At the very least, Rebekah (Claire Holt) should be in her element.

And yes.

Adele's '21' takes 18th week at albums No.1
Caroline van der Leeuw
Adele has collected an 18th week at the peak of the UK album chart with 21. The 'Rolling In The Deep' singer once again outperformed Beyoncé's 4 and her own debut LP 19 to capture the title. Caro Emerald takes her Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor to a new peak of four after climbing two more places, while Lady GaGa rounds out the top five with Born This Way. This is the second all-female top five to occur this year, after Adele's albums, Katy B's On A Mission, Rihanna's Loud and Who You Are by Jessie J secured the top spots back in April. Female artists have spent a combined total of six months at number one on the album chart in 2011, while male artists have held pole position for just four weeks. Elsewhere, Rihanna's aforementioned LP clambers three places (more)...

Adele has tallied up a 16th week at the top of the UK album chart with 21. The 'Turning Tables' singer denied veteran performer Kate Bush her fourth chart-topper by holding Director's Cut to the runner-up spot. The 'Wuthering Heights' singer's highly-anticipated LP is her tenth UK album chart Top 10 in a career that has spanned over 30 years. She last appeared on the listings in 2005 with Arial, which peaked at three. Further down the digits, Friendly Fires score today's second highest new entry and their best album chart placing to date with Pala at six, while Chase & Status continue their ascent with No More Idols, which is up two to seven.
