Spoken audio subscription service Podimo is taking a next step in its partnership with influential Dutch podcast production house Tonny Media by acquiring the company. The two businesses will remain operating as independent media houses, and will jointly combine their sales efforts and expertise. Listeners of Podimo and Tonny Media shows will continue to enjoy the same great content without any changes.

Appealing formats

Tonny Media is known for its engaging formats featuring well-known Dutch personalities and its expertise in social media and video production. The company reaches a wide audience and manages the concept, production, and promotion of its shows in-house. Tonny media, with shows such as “De Zelfspodcast,” presented by Sander Schimmelpenninck and Jaap Reesema, Monica Geuze and Kaj Gorgels' show “Geuze & Gorgels” and “Marc-Marie & Isa Vinden Iets en Aaf & Lies lossen het wel weer op,” will continue to operate under the leadership of CEO Titus van Dijk.

A year ago, podcast platform Podimo made its debut in the Netherlands. By now, it is impossible to imagine the Dutch podcast landscape without Podimo, with more than 70 shows to listen to, both exclusively and on the open network. Flying Start

In just one year, Podimo has given stage to more than 70 local shows. Existing podcasts like Dionne and Henrik Slagter's "Moordcast" and Jaap Reesema and Sander Schimmelpenninck's "De Zelfspodcast" immediately made the transition to Podimo. But new formats also emerged, such as Alexander Klöpping's "Goed Verhaal" (Good Story), where talented podcast creators have free rein to make what they want. And Podimo also gave old acquaintances a new podium in podcast land. After her famous book series, Francine Oomen launched "Hoe overleef ik.
