All Players in AFC Richmond from ‘Ted Lasso’, Ranked
Image
Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso is a love letter to leadership, personal growth, and obviously, football. The show follows Jason Sudeikis’s Ted Lasso as he goes through life’s ups and downs while trying to coach a fictional Premier League football club called AFC Richmond. The players all have their different personalities, and the relationships between them keep evolving throughout the seasons.

While Ted Lasso is mainly about the titular coach’s unconventional coaching style, these players and their journeys from underdogs and losers to heroes are the backbone of the show. Over three seasons, AFC Richmond’s roster has featured rising stars, seasoned veterans, and benchwarmers. In this ranking list, we will take into account their character development, narrative impact, and maybe also how many goals they have scored.

Apple TV+'s 'Ted Lasso' Season 4 Officialy Listed by WGA
Image
For months, Ted Lasso fans have held out hope for a fourth season after star, Nick Mohammed, teased a potential return for one of Apple TV+'s best shows. Many assumed that Season 3 was the end of the series, given how it broke up the AFC Richmond family, with the titular Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) returning to America to be with his family. Mohammed's video made fans believe that AFC Richmond could make another historic comeback. But, nothing was official... until now.

The new update comes via The Writer's Guild of America's directory, which was recently updated to include an official listing for Season 4 of Ted Lasso. While it isn't an official announcement from Apple TV+, it proves that Nick Mohammed's initial tease was perhaps more substantial than some thought. The update also highlighted that Jason Sudeikis, Brendan Hunt, and Brett Goldstein will also return to produce the fourth season.

'Ted Lasso's Juno Temple Reveals Keeley Jones Loves Roy Kent in Season 3 Finale
Image
Season 3 of Ted Lasso brought many long-running plot threads to a close. Ted (Jason Sudeikes) finally went home to be with his son. Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) learned to move on from her ex-husband. And, AFC Richmond came within inches of winning the Premier League. But, not everyone got a fairy tale happy ending. As well as starting her own PR business, Keeley Jones (Juno Temple) found herself in the middle of a love triangle with pro-footballers Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) and Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster).

Season 3's finale left the love triangle unresolved, as Jamie and Roy stupidly fought over Keeley's hand before asking her to choose between them -- with her kicking them both out as a result. Who Keeley ends up with is one of the burning questions in the series, and Juno Temple believes she knows the answer. "I think, ultimately, she ends up with Roy,...

'Ted Lasso' Actor Reveals Apple TV+ Series Has 3 More Seasons Planned
Image
With how long Apple TV+'s Ted Lasso could run for, we might literally be Richmond 'till we die. Actor Moe Jeudy-Lamour, who plays Thierry Zoreaux aka Van Damme/Zorro in the hit soccer series, starring Jason Sudeikis as the titular coach, might have just accidentally revealed Apple's plans for renewing Ted Lasso... and the streamer is going for a hat trick. Ted Lasso first debuted in 2020 and ran for three seasons, coming to a close in 2023 with a heartbreaking final season. Many fans assumed that Season 3 was the last, considering Ted left AFC Richmond to be with his son in America. Series star Nick Mohammed recently got fans riled up for an AFC Richmond comeback, with a potential fourth season. However, Apple's plans seem to be much bigger than that.

Jeudy-Lamour recently let it slip in an interview (which was shared on X by @stuckinrevmode) that Apple TV...

The 6 Best Sci-Fi Movies Of 2024 So Far
Image
Have you noticed that a lot of science-fiction movies haven't felt so fictional of late? Oh sure, the genre has always been about our real-world problems in the present day. Yet, as technology has caught up to our collective imaginations, a lot of would-be fantastical representations of the future have come to resemble our current hellscape but either slightly shinier and/or dingier and with A.I. that's capable of more than cranking out fake YouTube film trailer screencaps of men standing behind nude women. Even movies set thousands of years from now on distant planets tend to be about the all-too-topical concern of young white twinks embracing fascism (much to the dismay of their progressive girlfriends).

As dour and sometimes surreal as these movies are, they're also excellent vehicles for filmmakers to talk about the biggest issues of the day and, in doing so, perhaps make them feel just...

A Ted Lasso Easter Egg Reveals Zava's Next Football Career Move
Image
This post contains spoilers for the season 3 finale of "Ted Lasso."

"Ted Lasso" was adept at delivering the thrills of a sports drama, with the fall and rise of an underground English football team, while also telling a beautiful story about community, mental health, self-improvement, and being open about emotions.

After three seasons, "Ted Lasso" is seemingly, apparently, as far as we know, done and over. After two very strong seasons, the final season was a very mixed bag, with a lack of focus thanks to longer episodes that dragged on, a sermon-of-the-week format that seemed to take away from the joy of earlier seasons, and a misguided football story that was too obsessed with winning — until it wasn't.

This is (kind of) a football show, of course, meaning the characters' careers and stories carry on after the end of the finale. We know Ted Lasso's career at AFC Richmond is over,...

15 Most Shocking Moments From the ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 3 Finale
Jason Sudeikis in Ted Lasso (2020)
Note: This story contains spoilers from the Season 3 finale of “Ted Lasso.”

Yeah, this might be all that we get. This might just well be it.

It’s almost like the “Ted Lasso” theme song anticipated that the Season 3 finale would close nearly all major storylines of the Apple TV+ series as the show’s future remains unclear.

Season 3, Episode 12, titled “So Long, Farewell,” debuted Wednesday and wrapped up many of the loose ends left behind in previous episodes. Richmond got one last exciting soccer game — and a win! Rupert threw a fit. Nate went back to his rightful place on the coaching staff of the greyhounds. But, before all of this happened, Ted told Rebecca and Beard and the team that he had to say goodbye and go back home to his son.

The 75-minute episode closed with what seemed like a happy ending for all of the AFC Richmond family,...

Jason Sudeikis and ‘Ted Lasso’ Cast Rally at Warner Bros. Picket Lines Ahead of Show’s Season Finale
The cast and writers crew of Apple TV+’s sports comedy-drama “Ted Lasso” all came to a huddle at Warner Bros. picket lines on Tuesday.

Right after a day off from work, WGA writers hit the field for what is now the WGA’s fifth week of striking, as the WGA continues its fight for better residual pay in streaming, and the closure of the mini-room model, among other items, following a failed negotiation with the AMPTP. The cast and crew of “Ted Lasso” were one of the groups to hit picket lines.

“Much thanks to the gang for taking some time on such a big day to show their support for #wgastrong #tedlasso,” “Ted Lasso” co-creator Brendan Hunt said in an Instagram post.

‘Ted Lasso’ Confronts Parental Issues in ‘Mom City’
Image
[This story contains spoilers for “Mom City,” the 11th episode of Ted Lasso’s third season.]

So Ted’s going home, right?

It’s the story Ted Lasso has been building this whole season. Ted (Jason Sudeikis) began his third go-round with AFC Richmond wondering what he’s still doing in London while his son is 4,000-plus miles away, and he hasn’t shaken that feeling even as his midseason, Arthur Bryant’s sauce- and Tex Winter-induced hallucination/brainstorm to switch the team’s tactics led to an insane win streak that’s put the club in striking distance of the Premier League title.

But after clearing some air with his visiting mother (Becky Ann Baker) and beating powerhouse Manchester City for the first time — thanks in large part to Mancunian Jamie (Phil Dunster), whose own parental issues come to the fore as well — the “truth bomb” Ted is about to drop on Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) as the episode cuts to the end credits could hardly be anything else.

‘Ted Lasso’ Review: Season 3 of Apple TV+ Favorite Is Both Too Much and Not Enough
Image
In the second-most-overblown scene from HBO’s oppressively/gloriously overblown dramedy The Newsroom, Will McAvoy refuses — because he’s a time-traveler from the future with 20/20 hindsight on all things — to go along with the prevailing media narrative in the aftermath of the 2011 shooting of Congresswoman Gabby Giffords. He boldly declares, “A doctor pronounces her dead, not the news!”

That’s the way I feel about everybody associated with Ted Lasso hinting at the idea that the show’s upcoming third season will also be its last. Sure, star and co-creator Jason Sudeikis may be telling everybody that they’ve finished the story they set out to tell, but the soccer comedy feels too valuable for Apple TV+ to surrender without a fight, or at least promotional hype. Until the first ad arrives calling this “the third and final season,” I assume that backroom negotiations are ongoing.

‘Ted Lasso’ Season 3 Coasts on Good Vibes and Little Else
Image
In the third season of Ted Lasso, Ted and his coaches discuss whether it’s a good idea for AFC Richmond to pursue Zava, a brilliant footballer who is also a ball-hogging diva. Adding Zava to the team would be a massive talent boost, but it would mean reconfiguring the entire offense around the new guy, sending one current starter to the reserves, changing everyone else’s role, and perhaps disrupting the harmonious locker room chemistry that has been Ted’s biggest achievement since arriving to coach in the Premier League.

‘Ted Lasso’ Cast Reveal What Jason Sudeikis is Like as a Boss as Star Gives Final Bow for Season 3
Image
As Apple TV+ prepped to roll out the blue carpet in Westwood this week for the Season 3 premiere of its Emmy Award-winning comedy juggernaut Ted Lasso, one question lingered in the air: Is this the end?

Ahead of the Tuesday night event, Ted Lasso himself, co-creator, star and executive producer Jason Sudeikis, got ahead of the inevitable press line interrogation to make it clear that the time on the Richmond scoreboard is, indeed, running out. “This is the end of this story that we wanted to tell,” Sudeikis told Deadline.

The 12-episode season debuts March 15 and continues through May 31, and while options remain on the field for spinoffs and future iterations (Richmond Till We Die, anyone?), Sudeikis made it clear that this is his final bow as the beloved “aw shucks” Midwesterner turned English Premier League soccer coach but he believes there is more life left.

During a junket interview...
