One huge problem I have with Nintendo's pack-in party game for Wii U is the blatant lack of any online multiplayer. It's a disappointment to say the least, especially considering how "Nintendo Land" could have benefited from the option. Why did they decide to leave it out? The creators of "Nintendo Land" recently provided some answers.
In an interview with Famitsu (via Polygon), "Nintendo Land" producer Katsuya Eguchi said the game was designed specifically to play with a group of people in the same room.
"Nintendo Land's multiplayer attractions work because of the communication shared between the people playing them," Eguchi said, "so they were set up from the start to be something people in the same room could enjoy."
Takayuki Shimamura added, "With the GamePad, I think you're seeing a new dimension of multiplayer, something that hasn't been seen before."
