Preacher (2016)
‘Preacher’: Arseface (Aka Ian Colletti) on How Acting Out Eugene’s Horrific Origin Story Became an Out-Of-Body Experience
Preacher (2016)
Just into its second season, “Preacher” has been no stranger to tragedy. The AMC adaptation of the Garth Ennis comics series has touched on lost pregnancies, revisited parental abandonment and unleashed a citywide explosion that wiped away most of the first season’s recurring characters.

But Monday night’s episode, “Damsels,” may have seen the show at its most heart-wrenching. Watching a frightened Eugene attempt to replace the violently displaced brains of his high school crush Tracy Loach — and have the same shotgun be the source of Eugene’s infamous facial scar — was a twisted answer to one of the show’s biggest looming questions.

It’s a scene that Ian Colletti’s been preparing for, ever since getting the part. “As an actor, so much of your time is spent off camera in your preparation, meditating on your backstory and filling in the puzzle pieces. It’s very rare...

Malin Akerman in Trophy Wife (2013)
Did Trophy Wife Bring Home the Prize?
Malin Akerman in Trophy Wife (2013)
Sometimes you meet a new, young comedy and — despite any obstacles — can’t help but fall in love. Was this the case for you and ABC’s Trophy Wife?

This new single-camera sitcom premiered Tuesday at 9:30/8:30c and brought more laughs than an adolescent’s attempts at erotica. Directed by Broadway vet Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect), the pilot does an ace job of introducing the titular wife, Kate (Malin Akerman, Childrens Hospital), and the hilarious family in which she finds herself embroiled.

When party girl Kate meets lawyer Pete (Bradley Whitford, The West Wing) — by breaking his nose...

Once Upon a Time‘s (young) Snow White is now a Trophy Wife‘s stepdaughter.

ABC’s most promising freshman comedy has recast the role of testy teen Hillary (played in the original pilot by Gianna LePera) with Once fave Bailee Madison, our sister site Deadline reports — thereby fulfilling the prediction of TVLine reader Mark, who thusly collects 250 Power User points (currently of no value).

ABC 2013-2014 Schedule Full Preview With Trailers
At ABC‘s upfront, there were a few things that the network wanted to make sure you knew. 1) They are really impressed with the idea that people are going to watch Rebel Wilson do just about anything, and 2) There isn’t anything they’re happier about than bringing you more episodes of television created by Shonda Rhimes.

On these notes, the network would love for you to know that more Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal are coming your way. These, ABC would like to impress upon you (as advertisers) are really good shows. Because… hellllooo… so many people watch them that we’re bringing them back. But wait, don’t think that you’re as excited as you can get yet, because if those are your favorite shows, then we have a new one for you to fall in love with, Betrayal.

Also on the agenda, and actually looking like they might be interesting,...

ABC's Fall Schedule Announcement: A snap judgment
Ming-Na Wen, Clark Gregg, Iain De Caestecker, Nick Blood, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, and Elizabeth Henstridge in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013)
Maybe Olivia Pope needs to do some damage control for ABC, which brought back only two of the 10 shows it premiered last season. At the network’s upfront presentation on Tuesday, Kerry Washington appeared in a pre-taped clip as her character from Scandal, and offered advice to Anne Sweeney, the president of Disney/ABC Television Group, alongside Jimmy Kimmel. Discussing the problem of Dancing With the Stars, which took a ratings dip this season, Kimmel quipped, “For one thing, they’re not really stars.” There aren’t a ton of stars in ABC’s new lineup, either — but there are...

New 2013 TV Season Breakdown: ABC
The Fall TV Season presentations for all the new network shows take place this week with the third announced earlier today. Here's a full breakdown of which concepts have made the final list over on ABC.

The network is changing up some of its serialized dramas - removing random repeats in favor of two "uninterrupted runs" of twelve episodes each (one in the fall, one in the spring) for shows like "Once Upon A Time," "Grey’s Anatomy," "Scandal" and "Revenge". The large gaps between the two half-seasons will be bridged by "limited series" designed around only 12-13 episode seasons.

Several other pilots didn't make the final cut and won't be seen including the high-profile "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" rip-off "Gothica", McG's rip-off of Baz Luhrmann's "Romeo + Juliet" entitled "Westside", the series based on Disneyland's Big Thunder Mountain ride, the Annie Potts-led "Murder in Manhattan" about...

ABC renews 'Nashville,' 'Scandal, 'Grey's Anatomy' and more
Molly Baker
Great news from ABC: The network has ordered additional seasons of its soapy dramas Nashville, Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy, as well as another year of Castle.

The network also rounded out its drama orders by renewing Revenge and Once Upon A Time. On the comedy side, it’s bringing back Modern Family (no duh), The Middle, Suburgatory, Last Man Standing, and The Neighbors.

As for new shows, ABC announced the pickup of comedy Super Fun Night, a Rebel Wilson starrer about a junior attorney and her two best friends, who have a standing date every Friday night for the last 13 years.
