Kryptonite is an iconic part of Superman's lore, but it's almost always the green variant. Tons of differently colored Kryptonite exist, and Red Kryptonite is by far the most underrated - a fact best proven when one story brought back a horrifying redesign of a goofy Red Kryptonite adventure Superman had back in the Silver Age.
The Dark Multiverse is one of the most terrifying parts of DC's cosmology. It's where every story goes wrong, no matter how innocent it might start out. One horrifying example of this dark effect is featured in Sideways #8 by Dan Didio and Max Raynor. In this story, the young hero Sideways runs into a group of people who have been displaced from their homes, and one of them is a terrifying version of Superman.
This version of Superman was exposed to Red Kryptonite on his planet and transformed into a terrifying half-man, half-ant creature.

Val-Zod uses sun-dipping for solitude and enhanced powers, unlike Clark Kent who avoids it. The story "Pure Blackness" from DC Power 2024 #1 showcases Val-Zod's unique perspective as a pacifist Superman succeeding Clark Kent. Val-Zod's story portrays a different take on sun-dipping, highlighting his use of power upgrades for personal solitude.
Although Superman Clark Kent avoids the power upgrade that comes from sun-dipping, his multiverse counterpart, Val-Zod, has no problem using it. The Superman of Earth-Two shares some of his Prime Earth version's noblest qualities, while standing out as a unique take on the Man of Steel.
Superman's reliance on yellow sun energy to gain his powers is a well-known aspect of his lore. While Clark Kent avoids direct contact with the sun for upgrades, the story "Pure Blackness" by John Ridley and Edwin Galmon from DC Power 2024 #1 shows that Val-Zod learned to master sun-dipping long ago.

The Justice League has faced spine-tingling horror threats, including vampires, nightmares, and the undead, in their mission to protect the innocent. Wonder Woman becomes a ruthless villain after falling under the evil magic of Hecate, while also facing the terrifying Upside-Down Man. Batman's darkest hour occurs when he is brainwashed by Deacon Blackfire, leading him to break his one rule and help in the murder of several people, while Gotham City falls under the control of a madman.
The Justice League are bastions of hope and light... which makes it all the more disturbing when they run up against real horror. Whether it's the end of the world, a vampire uprising, or something twisted beneath the waves, the heroes of the Justice League have faced spine-tingling threats in their attempts to safeguard the innocent and uphold justice.

The Joker is one of Batman’s deadliest villains, but the Authority's Midnighter just might be his most dangerous enemy of all. Now that the Authority will be getting a film adaptation in James Gunn's new Dcu, perhaps fans will get to see this rivalry on the big screen. As the dark vigilante of the Authority, Midnighter could easily be seen as little more than a Batman rip-off. However, there’s more to the black leather-clad superhero than being a mere copy. For one thing, Midnighter has enhanced abilities thanks to generic alterations and neural implants. These not only increase his strength and speed, but also turn his brain into a tactical supercomputer, allowing Midnighter to play out every conceivable moment during the heat of battle and effectively predict his opponent’s moves before they make them.
Yet while these powers give him the edge in almost every confrontation,...

The Justice League and the Authority are two of DC's most powerful teams, but which one is actually the most effective in a battle? The two teams came to blows in the 2008 crossover DC/Wildstorm: DreamWar, and the results were an absolute bloodbath that culminated in the death of more than one hero.
While Wildstorm heroes like Grifter and Midnighter are a part of the DC universe these days, they started out in their own world. When Jim Lee split from Marvel Comics with six other artists to found Image Comics, he formed Wildstorm Studios and created his own universe of superheroes. At the tail end of 1998, Lee sold Wildstorm to DC, and in 2011, those characters began to merge with the DC Universe. Before that happened, however, the Wildstorm heroes found themselves at odds with the DC universe two years before.

Why stop to do an interview on the red carpet if you’re going to be a dick on live TV? That’s the question we have for Hugh Grant, who literally rolled his eyes after dismissing every one of Ashley Graham’s questions during ABC’s Oscars pre-show broadcast on Sunday.
Graham came prepared with the typical red carpet host questions: What are you wearing? Who are you excited to see? What do you love about the Oscars?
Grant wasn’t having it. Any of it.

The House of Representin’ was reopened at the South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas, as Terry Crews resurrected one of his most famous roles, President Camacho from the cult comedy “Idiocracy,” to announce a party for a fake presidential campaign in 2024.
Back in 2006, Crews appeared in Mike Judge’s comedy about Joe Bauers, an Army corporal deemed the “most average person in the military,” whom along with a sex worker named Rita are selected for a military cryogenic experiment.
When the experiment is forgotten about, the two wake up in the year 2534, where the human race has dumbed itself down to the point that society has collapsed into a barely functioning dystopia on the verge of collapse. With the average Joe now the smartest man on the planet, President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho hires him to his cabinet to solve a drought that is killing America’s food supply.

Even Robin knows what set Stephanie Brown apart from the rest of the Bat-Family. Since her introduction, Stephanie has been a staunch part of Batman’s army, either as the Spoiler, Robin or Batgirl–but at the same time, she has stood apart from the rest of them. In 2009’s Batgirl #5, Damian Wayne, at the time a newcomer to the Bat-Family, becomes fascinated with Stephanie Brown–and realizes what makes her different from the rest.
Stephanie Brown first appeared in 1992’s Detective Comics #647 and an issue later became the Spoiler–the first of several different heroic aliases she would have throughout her career. Initially a love interest for Tim Drake, she would succeed him as Robin in 2004’s Robin #126. Her tenure was cut short, but she eventually returned as Batgirl. When Stephanie first assumed the mantle, then-Batman Dick Grayson was set against it, feeling Stephanie’s failed stint as Robin...

Earth 2 #28
Written by Tom Taylor & Marguerite Bennett
Art by Alisson Borges, Andy Smith, Trevor Scott, Javier Fernandez, Diogenes Neves, & Marc Deering
Published by DC Comics
This month’s issue of Earth 2 does something quite unexpected by focusing on the Furies of Apokolips. A major question that’s loomed over this series since the announcement of World’s End is what role will the Earth 2 main book play in the story. Upon reading issue #28, it’s apparent that the series shall serve as a companion title to World’s End telling side stories that can’t fit within the pages of the weekly book.
The issue is split up into four stories, each about one of the furies of Apokolips and how they came to serve Darkseid. What’s quite the surprise is that eachFury is a native of a classic alien world within the DC universe. Pestilence...
