Daredevil Born Again Season 2: New Photo Spoils Major Daniel Blake Twist
Image
New Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 photos seemingly revealed a gruesome turning point for Michael Gandolfini's Daniel Blake in the new episodes. Gandolfini (the 26-year-old son of legendary Sopranos actor James Gandolfini) made his MCU debut in the first season of the Disney+ Daredevil revival, joining the ranks of Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk in the New York mayor's office, proving he will stop at nothing to make sure his bosses vision for the city comes to fruition.

While he kept his hands mostly clean in Daredevil: Born Again Season 1, Season 2 of the hit R-rated series will see Michael Gandolfini's Daniel Blake undergo a significant change if a new set photo is to be believed.

The image in question sees Gandolfini's MCU character covered in blood and looking down in what seems to be a moment of joy, as a broad smile can be seen across his blood-spattered face.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Set Photos Feature Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, And [Spoiler]
Image
Daredevil: Born Again was the Daredevil season 3 that most fans wanted, but if that was good, then it feels like the next batch of episodes will be great.

Showrunner Dario Scardapane will be in full control for Daredevil: Born Again season 2, meaning the series should feel more like the premiere and final two episodes than the truncated Muse arc or divisive bank robbery (which even Charlie Cox hated).

New photos from the show's New York set have surfaced today, this time showing Cox and Krysten Ritter on set (presumably before getting into costume as Matt Murdock and Jessica Jones). Michael Gandolfini, who plays Daniel Blake, was also spotted, suggesting these three might share the screen at some point.

If so, that feels like it could be a huge moment, hence the spoiler tag above. Could it be that Blake is finally realising that the Kingpin of Crime is not the...

Marvel Abandoned Multiverse Twist To Keep ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Connected To Netflix Storyline
Image
When Daredevil: Born Again was first being developed, Marvel had a very different idea for the show. According to Charlie Cox, the original version of the Disney+ series included a major multiverse twist. But that plan didn’t make it to the final cut.

Speaking on Deadline’s Crew Call podcast, Cox revealed that the earlier version of the show was going to use “variants” of familiar characters like Matt Murdock, Foggy Nelson, and Karen Page.

This would have made the new show take place in a different reality from the one seen in the original Netflix Daredevil series. The multiverse approach would have placed the Netflix story in an alternate universe rather than keeping it part of the main Marvel timeline.

Cox explained what Marvel was thinking at the time. “One of the things the original team wanted to do was they wanted to keep Vincent [D’Onofrio] and I.

‘Simply unworkable’: British film industry leaders aghast at Trump’s movie tariffs
 Brian Cox: June 1
US president’s call for 100% tariffs on films ‘produced in foreign lands’ comes under fire, with actor Brian Cox saying Trump doesn’t understand how films are made

Leading figures in the British film industry have reacted with a mixture of wariness and bemusement at the prospect of tariffs announced by Donald Trump on movies produced in “foreign lands”.

Rebecca O’Brien, producer of a string of films by Ken Loach including Palme d’Or winners The Wind That Shakes the Barley and I, Daniel Blake says that tariffs appear “simply unworkable given how intertwined and global the film industry is”. “I can see that Trump watches Hollywood collapsing and losing its jobs to the rest of the world but that’s because it’s a very expensive place to make films.”...

From plot, casting news, and more, let’s dive in and take a look at what is coming up in season two of Daredevil: Born Again.

Where will season 2 pick up?

At the end of the first season, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) fully embraced his Daredevil persona as Wilson Fisk instituted martial law in New York City and imprisoned all of his opponents. With the city under his control and The Punisher in a cage, Matt Murdock will lead an uprising and raise an army to fight back against the Mayor. Goodfellas Boards Cannes Directors’ Fortnight Cameroon-Set Police Drama ‘Untamable’
Image
Exclusive: Goodfellas has boarded sales on Thomas Ngijol’s Cameroon-set police investigation tale Untamable (Indomptables) ahead of its premiere in Cannes Directors’ Fortnight in May.

The feature marks a change in register for Paris-born, French-Cameroonian actor and director Ngijol, who is best known as a comedian in France, where he is a household name.

Ngijol directs and also stars as Police Chief Billong who is investigating the murder of a police office in the Cameroonian capital of Yaoundé.

A man of principle and tradition, Billong is facing a personal crisis as he struggles to maintain order in the streets and at home, pushing him to breaking point.

The drama is inspired by Mosco Levi Bouko’s 1998 documentary Un crime à Abidjan about an Ivory Coast police commissioner, which Ngijol has fictionalized and transposed to Cameroon.

Ngijol entered show business as a stand-up, getting his first break on Jamel Debbouze’s...

Even a reboot series after 8 years cannot save Charlie Cox from this terrible curse that comes alongside playing a particular character in the iconic Marvel show, Daredevil: Born Again.

Daredevil: Born Again writer confirms Charlie Cox’s character is single

After losing his best friend, Foggy Nelson, and Karen Page moving to San Francisco to start a new life, Matt Murdock found himself getting involved romantically with Heather Glenn.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Writer Just Confirmed a Major Details About Matt and Heather’s Relationship in Season 2
Image
The first season of Daredevil: Born Again has come and gone, but creatives from the series are still providing insight about where the show is heading in Season 2. The Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 finale saw Matt (Charlie Cox) reunite with Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) and Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) to take on Wilson Fisk’s (Vincent D’Onofrio) Avtf (Anti-Vigilante Task Force). But things don’t go as planned when Fisk gets the upper hand, and the season ultimately ends with Matt stepping back into the shadows. Matt’s girlfriend, Heather (Margarita Levieva), also accepts a position as Fisk’s mental health czar in his new administration, and during a recent interview with TV Insider, Daredevil: Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane confirmed this has left a split between them heading into Season 2:

"We have a character like Daniel Blake [Michael Gandolfini] who’s under the wing of Fisk, which...

Daredevil: Born Again failed to live up to the original in 5 major ways
Image
No one expected fans of the original Daredevil series to go easy on Marvel's Daredevil: Born Again reboot. We all saw the insufferable comparisons between the two shows coming from a mile away.

Now that the revival's nine-episode run has ended, we can safely say that Disney-Marvel significantly fell short of delivering on the Og fans' high expectations. From Born Again's filming and CGI revamps to the changes in its characters and storylines, Daredevil purists are ripping into every little detail about the new show. And they aren't merely nitpicking.

This article looks at Daredevil: Born Again's biggest criticisms, pitfalls, and mistakes following the release of the finale, "Straight to Hell."

Kingpin Steps Out of the Shadows in Blood-Soaked ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Finale
Image
You know what they say about old habits. The entire first season of “Daredevil: Born Again” has seen Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin trying (admittedly not very hard) not to slip into previous patterns, but the Season 1 finale brings them firmly back to square one — and to the truth of who they are.

Written by Aaron Moorhead & Justin Benson and directed by Heather Bellson & Dario Scardapane, “Straight to Hell” charts every character’s descent in the fateful hours after Matt gets shot — and yes, that’s every character including New York City itself. Mayor Fisk is flying high after cheating death once again, and it launches his power into newly unchecked but familiarly tyrannical territory.

First, he pulls the trigger on a citywide blackout (“send in our friend from ConEd”) in which the anti-vigilante task force reigns terror. Any violence or looting that took place without...

Daredevil: Born Again Finale Stills Spotlight The Return Of The Punisher & The Kingpin's Ascent
Image
With Daredevil: Born Again season one in the books, Marvel Studios has released seven awesome new stills from last night's finale, offering a fresh look at some of the episode's key moments.

In the photos, we get multiple shots of The Punisher's (Jon Bernthal) return, who has arrived just in the nick of time to help Daredevil (Charlie Cox) get out of a bind. It doesn't spoil the episode's other big return, so we won't either.

Then, we also see Wilson (Vincent D'Onofrio) and Vanessa (Ayelet Zurer) share a dinner, and the Kingpin barking out orders to a room full of stunned staff, including Daniel Blake (Michael Gandolfini), Sheila Rivera (Zabryna Guevera), Arty Froushan (Buck Cashman) and Commisioner Phil Gallo (Michael Gaston).

Actress Margarita Levieva (Heather Glenn) also shared a batch of behind-the-scenes stills from the final two episodes, giving us a considerably more light-hearted view of the season's darkest hours yet.

Daredevil: Born Again is the perfect example of Wilson Fisk’s deplorable greatness
Image
Fans will exaggerate their feelings about their favorite characters and defend them regardless of what they do, and this writer includes himself in that statement. Our bias comes from the admiration we have for the heroes and villains and everyone in between. Sometimes, it’s because we can relate to the things they do or how they overcome adversity. Then there are dirty, dastardly, and deplorable characters like Marvel's Mayor of New York, “The Kingpin” Wilson Fisk.

Wilson Fisk is a villain who doesn’t get the same respect that antagonists like Lex Luthor do. Granted, Luthor does things on a grander scale with tougher nemeses and goals. Nevertheless, you can’t discount how far the Kingpin has come. He started with less than most (almost nothing) and overcame obstacles to overachieve in life. Thankfully, the creative team for Daredevil: Born Again understands this better than most.

“Neither really amounted to anything”: Michael Gandolfini Deserves Better After ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Wasted Him For an Entire Season
Image
Spoiler Alert !!!Spoilers ahead for Daredevil: Born Again

Michael Gandolfini has come a long way since his film debut in Ocean’s 8. The actor was seen in Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again as Mayor Wilson Fisk’s ‘Minister of Propaganda’, Daniel Blake. He is a Yes-man to Fisk’s unconstitutional takeover of the city, which occurs throughout the season and hits its peak in the finale.

Gandolfini does a decent job in the show, but is seriously let down by the writing. Apart from one episode, his status as Fisk’s close ally does not really add much other than predictable support to Fisk’s policies. While he rises through the ranks and even becomes complicit in Fisk’s newest attack on New York’s liberty and freedom, there is a lot more to explore.

Was Michael Gandolfini robbed of a good character arc post-overhaul in Daredevil: Born Again? Michael...

Daredevil: Born Again Episode 9 Review: “Straight to Hell"

We’ve made it to the season finale. Finally. This is where Born Again pulls it all together, right? Flourishes in mid-air and pays off all the storylines that it’s been brewing. Wows us with its poise and sticks the landing.

Well, no. Actually, hell no. “Straight to Hell” was one of the worst episodes of TV I’ve seen in a very long time, and certainly the worst of Born Again. Let’s go right ahead and dig into the why of it all, shall we?

Beware spoilers ahead.

Every Cannes Palme d’Or Winner of the 21st Century Ranked
Image
There’s a certain formula that often defines the recipients of the Cannes Film Festival’s prestigious top prize, the Palme d’Or. These films, especially in the last two decades, tend to have a sense of importance about them, frequently due to their sociopolitical awareness of the world (Laurent Cantet’s The Class), or of specific societal ills.

From time to time, the Palme d’Or goes to a bold, experimental, and divisive vision from a well-liked auteur, such as Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives and Terrence Malick’s The Tree of Life. But more often it’s awarded to a film in the lineup that the majority of the members on the Cannes jury can agree is good. That felt like the case for Ken Loach’s The Wind that Shakes the Barley and I, Daniel Blake, as well as Julia Ducournau’s Titane,...

Daredevil: Born Again episode 9 release time, preview, and what to expect
Image
Matt Murdock and Dr. Heather Glenn had their first argument in Daredevil: Born Again's previous episode after she was personally invited by Mayor Wilson Fisk’s assistant/hitman to his black-tie event. Meanwhile, Fisk and Vanessa’s relationship begins to recover as they get over their issues when Fisk showed his wife what he had done to Adam. The episode ended with Vanessa killing her former lover and the Fisk's relationship getting stronger. I don’t know if it’s beautiful, sick, codependent, or all three.

Since Poindexter was once a cop, it's in his best interest to avoid other prisoners. Putting him among them is an easy way for him to be killed or attacked by the inmates.

Another Daredevil: Born Again Star Is Pushing for a Spider-Man Crossover
Image
Another Daredevil: Born Again star wants a crossover with Marvel's most popular superhero, Spider-Man. The Many Saints of Newark's Michael Gandolfini, who plays Daniel Blake in the Disney+ MCU series, even has a specific location in mind for where his character would encounter Tom Holland's Web-Slinger.

During an interview with Inverse to discuss Daredevil: Born Again and his new movie Warfare, Gandolfini half-joked, "Can we get Spider-Man meeting me on the Staten Island Ferry or something?" Gandolfini joins Daredevil actor Charlie Cox in trying to manifest a crossover with Marvel's flagship character. Last year, Cox stated during a panel at Fan Expo Chicago that Spider-Man is the character he would most like to team up with in an MCU crossover. "Spider-Man and Daredevil together is so iconic. I hope we get to work together again." Cox made a brief cameo as Matt Murdock in Holland's hit Spider-Man: No Way Home...

New Daredevil: Born Again Set Photos Confirm a Villain's Season 2 Return
Image
Daredevil isn't the only Born Again character receiving a comics-accurate suit in Season 2. New set photos have confirmed that Wilson Bethel's Bullseye will also be sporting a more comics-accurate costume next season.

Shared across the social media platform X, the new set photos feature Bethel back in the Bullseye costume seen in the Born Again series premiere. However, as pointed out by MCU Report, some subtle changes have been made to the suit. In addition to added texture, a faint bullseye can be spotted on the headpiece just above Bethel's eyes. While not as prominent (or white) as the one in the comics, it's still a noticeable improvement over the pseudo-Bullseye costume used in Season 1. Check out the new Born Again Season 2 set photos below.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Set Video Sees The Hero Fighting - Or Teaming Up With - [Spoiler]
Image
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is shooting in New York, and new videos from the show's set reveal all Hell breaking loose at Fogwell's Gym in Hell's Kitchen.

As you can see below, the Man Without Fear and Bullseye come crashing through the gym's window; however, it appears they jump through individually, with Bullseye running off before the Man Without Fear heads in the same direction.

Moments later, the Anti-Vigilante Task Force bursts through the doors on the hunt for the vigilante and villain. Is it possible they're forced to work together? That may be the case, though it's just as likely that the hero stops Dex from killing Mayor Fisk before they're both forced to flee from the cops.

During a recent interview with Inverse, Daniel Blake actor Michael Gandolfini teased Jon Bernthal's return as The Punisher in next Tuesday's season 1 finale of Daredevil: Born Again.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Star Genneya Walton Says Bb Urich Has a ‘One-Track’ Mind After That Episode 8 Bombshell
Image
There’s a new Urich in town and, just like her uncle before her, Bb is all about digging up the truth and rooting out corruption — and getting way too deep into Wilson Fisk’s risky business in the process. Played by “Candy Cane Lane” and “#blackAF” star Genneya Walton, Bb Urich is the next generation investigative NYC reporter in “Daredevil: Born Again,” pounding pavement for her man-on-the-street ‘Bb Report’ interviews, penning editorials and courting access to the rich, powerful and corrupt power players of the city who can help her get the scoop.

“She’s really powered by truth and integrity,” Walton told TheWrap. “I think she really values being the voice of people that might not otherwise have it.”

Naturally, that’s going to pit her against a figure of rampant corruption like Wilson Fisk, but the two also have bad blood that runs deeper. Fisk killed Bb...

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Episode 8 Recap & Ending Explained: Who Had Foggy Killed?
Image
In the 7th episode of Daredevil: Born Again, Wilson Fisk whined endlessly about the return of the titular vigilante and promised to use his task force against Matt Murdock. Meanwhile, Murdock learned that Muse, the serial killer supervillain who had been teased since the beginning of the show, had made Heather Glenn his next target. It was unclear if he did that to hurt Fisk (since he was Heather’s client) or Murdock (since Heather was his girlfriend). Well, it didn’t matter anyway, because after Murdock showed up to stop Muse from killing Heather, the psychiatrist picked up Muse’s discarded gun and unloaded the clip into the murderer’s chest. When the police, the task force, and Fisk arrived at the crime scene, they confirmed that Daredevil was there before anyone else to save Heather. However, instead of giving him any credit, Fisk falsely thanked the task force...

Daredevil: Born Again Episode 8 "Isle Of Joy" Recap - Matt Faces Foggy's Killer In Shocking Fashion - Spoilers

With Muse dealt with, tonight’s episode picks up in prison, where we catch up with Benjamin Poindexter (Wilson Bethel) who - despite his murderous rampage in the season‑premiere - still insists he isn’t supposed to be locked up.

He then gets an unwelcome surprise when he’s transferred to gen pop and left to fend for himself against a horde of angry prisoners… cue the credits!

Wilson (Vincent D'Onofrio) commends Vanessa (Ayelet Zurer) for her leadership in taking care of the Luca problem. The couple seems stronger than ever, which can't mean anything good for the people of New York.

Back at Matt's apartment, Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Heather Glenn (Margarita Levieva) reflect on Muse's attack. She starts comparing Muse and Daredevil, which doesn't sit well with Matt, especially when she calls them "underdeveloped boys hiding behind masks." He argues that Daredevil saved her, but she insists she saved herself.

Daredevil: Born Again Episode 8 "Isle Of Joy" Recap - Matt Faces Foggy's Killer In Shocking Twist - Spoilers
Image

Daredevil: Born Again episode 8 release time, preview, and what to expect
Image
If you thought Marvel Studios would make fans wait for more of Matt Murdock as The Man Without Fear, you were wrong. After resting and letting things cool down after his rescue of Angela Del Toro, he went back to Muse’s subterranean hideout to find clues on where he would strike next. He learns that Muse’s next victim is Matt’s girlfriend and therapist, Dr. Heather Glenn. We also find out that Muse (real name: Bastian Cooper) is a patient of Heather's. Luckily, Daredevil shows up before she can become another mural.

During the fight, Heather shoots Muse and kills him. Before she can bleed out from her attempted killer's cut, Daredevil tends to her wounds, and the police get her to the hospital. Wilson Fisk arrives on the scene soon after to get a report of the situation from Cole North, who says Dd was on the scene.

Daredevil: Born Again Episode 7 recap and review: “Art for Art's Sake”
Image
“We’re talking about a man who dresses in a devil costume,” says Wilson Fisk to his aide in the Mayor’s office. He sums up what we’re doing, too. All of this hubbub because some guy with a bleeding heart decides that he can save New York City, and for what? Episode 7 of Daredevil: Born Again really leans into the idea that the difference between who is doing the protecting and who is bringing the pain is nothing but a matter of perspective. At least when it comes to the conflict between Daredevil and Fisk’s police task force. In the case of Muse, though, he’s pretty much always doing bad. What sucks is that it appears to be for very little reason.

The rest of this review contains spoilers. Let’s dig in.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Episode 7 Recap & Ending Explained: Is Muse Dead Or Alive?
Image
For some reason, Marvel and Disney+ decided to release 2 episodes of Daredevil: Born Again last week. Usually, this is done where the story that’s told over the course of these 2 episodes has to be viewed together instead of being set apart by one week. Hardcore fans will probably disagree with me, but, in my opinion, that wasn’t the case here, and episodes 5 and 6 didn’t need to be watched one after another. So, I didn’t quite understand the thought process behind this sudden change in the schedule. Anyway, in the 5th episode, Matt Murdock foiled a bank robbery that had been orchestrated by Luca because he had been ordered by Fisk to give Viktor a huge sum of money. And in the 6th episode, Angela Del Toro was kidnapped by Muse, and Murdock finally put on his iconic costume to partake in some superheroism to save Hector Ayala’s niece.

Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ Boss Says Scrapped Season 4 Was ‘Quite Different’ From ‘Born Again’
Image
In 2018, Netflix canceled “Daredevil” after three seasons as Disney took its rights to the Marvel antihero back ahead of the launch of Disney+.

Seven years later, Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio have returned to the small screen for new adventures in their own series, “Daredevil: Born Again,” which are “quite different” from where Season 3 showrunner Erik Oleson planned to go.

“I’m very excited that the show came back at a different network. It’s so weird. As a showrunner, you’re kind of prepared for your show to be canceled. You’re not necessarily prepared for your studio [to be canceled]. It was a very bizarre thing,” Oleson told TheWrap.

“The Season 4 I had planned was quite different. It was a Typhoid Mary story. It was going to go into a different direction. And then I was going to circle back to the Bullseye storyline in Season 5,” he continued. “I was starting...

Daredevil: Born Again May Have a Surprising Connection to the McU's Most Anticipated Team
Image
Daredevil: Born Againis greatly expanding the Marvel Cinematic Universe's street-level setting, telling a much-needed grounded story amid the controversial Multiverse Saga. Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock, formerly the vigilante Daredevil, who struggles to break free from the call to suit up and administer justice on the streets of New York City when his old nemesis, Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) is elected mayor. In just four episodes, the series has already restored hope in the MCU while introducing new characters who could play major roles in the future of the franchise.

Episode 4 of Daredevil: Born Again, entitled "Sic Semper Systema," may have distracted viewers from the introduction of one of the McU's newest street-level vigilantes. The return of Jon Bernthal's Punisher overshadows almost everything else that occurs in the episode, but one crucial scene marks the surprise introduction of a character who not only may play a big role...

Daredevil: Born Againis in full swing, bringing back many of the most iconic characters from the Defenders Saga and making them full-fledged facets of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio are back as Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, respectively, each proving once more why he is the perfect representation of his iconic character. Replete with epic action sequences, masterfully written dialogue, and intense character development for its main cast, Born Again is every bit the revival series that fans of the original Netflix show were hoping for.

Perhaps the most exciting thing about the McU's latest series is that it is strikingly similar to the original Daredevil. While the cinematography and setting may differ, the show firmly establishes itself...

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Set Photos Reveal First Look at Charlie Cox in Black Suit
Image
Marvel Television is finally giving Charlie Cox's Daredevil suit the Dd chest emblem. New set photos from Daredevil: Born Again have emerged, revealing the new black suit that the Man Without Fear will don in the upcoming Season 2.

Shared on X by MCU Report, the six Born Again Season 2 set photos feature Cox's Matt Murdock in a variety of positions while suited up in the new black Daredevil suit. However, a closer look at the set photos seems to reveal that the Season 2 suit is actually the current red Daredevil suit spray-painted black, as bits of red can be seen poking through the black. The Dd chest emblem is also the same color red as the suit Murdock can be seen wearing in Season 1 of the Disney+ continuation. Check out the Season 2 set photos below.

Daredevil: Born Again Proves It's Not The Kingpin Who Rules New York City
Image
Spoilers for "Daredevil: Born Again" follow.

On "Daredevil: Born Again," Wilson Fisk has traded in the Kingpin's criminal empire for Gracie Mansion. He protests that as mayor he's trying to change himself, and New York City, for the better but you'd be a fool to not be suspicious of him.

Just like "Born Again" is about Matt trying not to be Daredevil (and failing since the episode of 2), it's also about Fisk facing new challenges in the field of politics. The rub is that, despite his new legitimacy (running a city of 8 million people), Fisk has less power now as mayor than he did as the Kingpin.

As a public servant, he's accountable to voters, other lawmakers, and rules in place that he's supposed to follow. As Fisk's aide Sheila Rivera (Zabryna Guevara) explained to him, he can't just unilaterally decide to renovate the Red Hook Pier, he has...

Quick LinksWhy Vanessa Fisk's Character Arc Makes SenseHow Vanessa's Arc Will Affect Wilson Fisk in Born Again

Daredevil: Born Againwalks a precarious line with fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The revival brings back multiple characters from the original Netflix series, striving to remain faithful to the characterization viewers know while still breaking new ground. For the most part, Born Again has met these stipulations, crafting one of the best MCU Disney+ series yet. Actors like Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio slip seamlessly back into their characters, even though Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk have changed drastically over the last several years. Still, fans have the occasional gripe about elements of the new show.

Ayelet Zurer returns as Vanessa Fisk in Daredevil: Born Again after the initial confirmation that she had been recast with Sandrine Holt. While it is terrific to see Vanessa reunite with her husband, many viewers have...

Daredevil: Born Again episode 5 and 6 release time, preview, and what to expect
Image
People have been waiting for the return of Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle (the Punisher) for years and his appearance in Daredevil: Born Again's fourth episode didn’t disappoint. The character didn’t kill anyone and there wasn’t a lot of violence, but Bernthal’s acting was superb. Plus, Frank became the key factor in Matt Murdock possibly going back to his life as Daredevil.

The Punisher forced Matt to confront his feelings about Foggy Nelson's death. Karen Page and others certainly tried their best to do it too, but they don’t have Frank’s touch. By touch, this writer means the Punisher kept antagonizing Matt until he punched him in the face. This leads to Matt understanding the emotions he was avoiding and picking up his weapons for the first time in over a year.

If there was any doubt that Wilson Fisk would remain evil,...

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Episode 4 Recap & Ending Explained: Did Punisher Kill White Tiger?
Image
The 3rd episode of Daredevil: Born Again was about Matt Murdock proving that Hector Ayala was innocent and he hadn’t killed Officer Shanahan. Murdock was able to get his hands on Nicky Torres, the Ci that Hector was trying to save from officers Powell and Shanahan, but he lied and said he wasn’t even at the subway station where the incident happened. So, Matt had no option but to reveal that Hector was the vigilante called White Tiger and try to get the jury to see that he was a hero and he couldn’t have killed a cop on purpose. That worked out, and Hector was allowed to walk out of the courthouse a free man. But Mayor Wilson Fisk didn’t take that decision too well. His marital problems were getting muddy, but more importantly, Hector’s acquittal went against Fisk’s anti-vigilante stance. Hence, he...

Daredevil: Born Again Star Vincent D'Onofrio Teases Daniel Blake Scene; New Details On The Punisher's Return
Image
In Daredevil: Born Again, Michael Gandolfini - the son of the late, great Sopranos star James Gandolfini - plays Daniel Blake, a Wilson Fisk fanboy who serves on the New York Mayor's staff.

Daniel is a character created specifically for the MCU, though many fans believe he'll be revealed as a new version of Butch, the Kingpin of Crime's illegitimate son. If so, the relationship between Wilson and his young protégé promises to get very complicated, very quickly.

Talking to TV Line, Vincent D'Onofrio reflected on crossing paths with Michael's father earlier in his career and teased a big Daredevil: Born Again scene between his and James' respective MCU characters.

"We spent some time together, James and I," he said of his Mr. Wonderful co-star. "We weren’t like best friends or anything, but we had some great conversations. He was a really good dude."

"James had Michael, and now...

Having Michael Gandolfini as a scene partner on Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again has an extra layer of meaning for Vincent D’Onofrio, who as an East Coast-based actor had crossed paths with Michael’s father, James Gandolfini, a time or two.

“We spent some time together, James and I…,” D’Onofrio shared with TVLine of the Emmy-winning Sopranos front man who passed away in June 2013. (Fun fact: they both had roles in the 1993 rom-com Mr. Wonderful, starring Matt Dillon and Annabella Sciorra.)
