Clipped Episode 5 True Story: What The Show Changes
Image
Warning: Spoilers ahead for Clipped episode 5.

Clipped episode 5 leaves out Shelly Sterling's belief in Donald's dementia after racist comments. Doc Rivers inspires the Clippers to victory in tumultuous times during the Donald Sterling scandal. V. Stiviano defends Donald's racist comments in the real-life interview, which causes more confusion.

The penultimate episode of Clipped titled "The Best Words" continues the show's mostly accurate portrayal of the infamous Donald Sterling scandal. In Clipped episode 5, both V. Stiviano and Donald's wife Shelly, who had owned 50% of the Clippers along with Donald before she was forced by the NBA and Commissioner Adam Silver to sell the team, speak to legendary journalist Barbara Walters in nationally televised interviews. With only one episode remaining of Clipped, Donald looks to retaliate for his lifelong ban from the NBA as well as his $2.5 million fine with swift albeit misguided legal action.

Doc Rivers, who coached the...

Clipped Cast & Real-Life Character Guide
Image
"Clipped" on Hulu delves into the controversial past of the LA Clippers in a powerful drama series with an impressive ensemble cast. Laurence Fishburne shines as Doc Rivers, the coach navigating the fallout from Donald Sterling's racist remarks in the gripping show. With its all-star lineup, "Clipped" explores accountability and change within the sports world after a scandal rocks the NBA team.

The new Hulu sports drama Clipped features an impressive ensemble cast, with many actors portraying real-life NBA players and coaching staff. Clipped is based on the controversial true 2014 scandal about Donald Sterling, the former owner of the Los Angeles Clippers NBA team. The 2013-2014 NBA season was big for the LA organization, which to this day has yet to win an NBA title, because of the acquisition of former Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers, who coached the 2008 C's to their first NBA Championship since 1986. Rivers is...

Toy Story 3 Ending Explained: So Long, Partner
Image
With 2010's "Toy Story 3," Pixar and director Lee Unkrich were faced with punishingly high expectations. Besides the first two entries in the series being certified modern animated classics, there was also the question of purpose. For Pixar, a production company known at the time for its refusal to do sequels unless there was a story to justify one, to do a sequel over a decade after the previous entry, something good must have been in store.

The original "Toy Story," which was released in 1995, changed animation forever. Its 1999 sequel -- a moving allegory for the stages of life -- managed somehow to be even better. A follow-up couldn't simply take viewers back to the world of toy cowboy Woody (Tom Hanks) and toy astronaut Buzz (Tim Allen). Nor could it take the eventual route of "The Incredibles 2," which ignored the gap in time between movies. The series was always surprisingly deep,...

Eric Weiner’s ‘Deadly Detention’ Turns ‘The Breakfast Club’ into a Bloody Slasher [Buried in a Book]
Image
Trapping characters in a single location makes for a compelling story. And having everyone be strangers certainly helps rack up conflict and drama as well. Sure, it’s an overworked formula at this point, but the results are undeniable. Eric Weiner, a ghostwriter for Fear Street Sagas, gave the recipe a whirl in his 1994 book Deadly Detention. He was clearly inspired by one of the most seminal examples of these “bottle” tales, The Breakfast Club, but unlike John Hughes’ benchmark of teen movies, the characters in this story aren’t mired in expectations or concerned with social constructs. No, these young detainees are running from a more tangible threat — one hoping to keep them in school forever.

The book begins with the six main characters reporting to their disciplinary destination, classroom 301 at Harrison High School. For a few hours on this ill-fated afternoon, these unlucky students belong to Mr. Lance Crowley.
