George Clooney is headed back to television…just not the way you think.

Unlike former co-star Noah Wyle’s return to the medical procedural genre with “The Pitt,” Clooney will be taking to the small screen via The Great White Way. For the last few months, he’s been performing at Broadway’s Winter Garden Theatre in a theatrical adaptation of his 2005 Oscar-nominated biopic “Good Night and Good Luck.” Now he’ll bring that story back to the place it first started: on television.

Airing Saturday, June 7 on CNN, CNN will air a live performance of “Good Night and Good Luck” in what will be the Broadway show’s penultimate performance. It’s also the first time in Broadway history a play has been televised live.

As per The New York Times, the play will be preceded and followed by coverage and discussion around the show, it’s history, and the current state of journalism.

Exclusive: Dave Andron, writer and executive producer on hit FX series including Justified and Snowfall, has signed an overall deal with FX Productions.

Under the agreement, Andron will write, executive produce and supervise new projects for FX. He is currently part of the creative team behind the Snowfall spinoff series, starring Gail Bean and Isaiah John who are reprising their roles from the mothership series. The project received a pilot order from FX earlier this week with casting due to begin shortly and production estimated to kick off this summer.

The untitled drama was first reported to be in early development in 2023 ahead of the series finale of “Snowfall.” As reported at the time, “Snowfall” star Gail Bean will return for the spinoff in the role of Wanda Bell-Simmons. The University of Southern California’s (USC) School of Cinematic Arts (Sca) announced the creation of the John Singleton Lounge during a special screening of the series finale of FX’s Snowfall — Singleton’s final work — on the campus Thursday night. It's the end of an era for "Snowfall" fans and, unfortunately, of the overall journeys of some of the series's pivotal characters.

For the past six seasons, the 1980s-set crime drama has followed the dramatic tale of ambitious drug dealer Franklin (Damson Idris) and the epic rise and fall of his drug organization during the crack epidemic in South Central Los Angeles. While we've witnessed Franklin's transformation from college-bound teenager to a ruthless kingpin, one of the biggest shocks in the gritty FX series thus far has been watching his family slowly fall apart - which, in part, has led to another heartbreaking death.

In its final season, Louie seemingly has jumped out of fans’ favor, as her war with her nephew, Franklin Saint (Damson Idris), comes to a boil. The family feud first started in house. With Franklin’s $73 million stolen by former CIA Agent Teddy McDonald (Carter Hudson), he’s started to take drastic lengths — like stealing all of his aunt and uncle’s illegal inventory — to keep himself and his growing family afloat.

Exclusive: A spinoff of the hit drama series Snowfall is in early stages of development at FX, sources tell Deadline. No one would comment but we hear that, if it comes to fruition, the offshoot would potentially star Gail Bean reprising her fan-favorite Snowfall character, Wanda.

The spinoff is a continuation of the original story set in 1990s Los Angeles as South Central transitions out of the crack era into the gangster rap business, with areas heavily infested by gangs led by the Bloods and Crips. Wanda would serve as the connective tissue between the original show and the offshoot, which is expected to introduce other main characters, sources tell Deadline.

It is as yet unknown if any other characters from the original could also appear in the new show.

Jason Katims adapted the ten-episode Apple TV+ show from Ann Napolitano’s best-selling novel of the same name, which follows a young boy Edward Adler (Colin O’Brien) as he navigates the loss of his parents and brother in a plane crash that kills every passenger but him. His Aunt Lacey (Taylor Schilling) and her husband John (Carter Hudson) take Edward in, and Lacey attends the grief counseling set up in New York City by the airline, where she meets many others who lost loved ones in the crash.

Dear Edward has ended its first season, but there are more stories to tell, according to series creator Jason Katims. The Apple TV+ series has not yet been renewed for a second season, but Katims hopes to tell more about those connected to the tragic plane crash at the center of the story.
