Production company Lyrical Media is launching Lyrical Games a new, privately funded game publisher with its first three titles in production.

Blake Rochkind, former Head of Business Development at Take-Two’s Private Division, will oversee Lyrical Games, which says it aims to support imaginative and high-caliber games that live between the extremes of smaller indies and large productions. Rochkind was previously a Video Game Agent at United Talent Agency.

He is joined by Roger Kurtz, former Head of Production at Private Division and a team of games publishing veterans from Devolver Digital, Humble Games, Microsoft and more.

Kojima, the lauded video game creator behind the Metal Gear series, released Death Stranding, a trippy open-world adventure set in a post-apocalyptic America, in 2019 to incredible acclaim from fans and critics. The game is widely considered to be one of the creator's best, and it's already been greenllit for one adaptation. But a second Death Stranding adaptation is in the works, and it's in the only medium that can contain Kojima's eccentricities.

The studio known for auteur-driven films has officially confirmed it is partnering with Bandai Namco Entertainment on a live-action feature movie of Elden Ring. A24 regular Alex Garland, who most recently released Warfare with the studio, will write and direct the feature.

According to The Numbers’ list of the top 100 all-time worldwide box office for horror movies, Ryan Coogler’s Sinners is currently in the No. 20 spot in the top 100. The film, which has a nearly-perfect 97% Rotten Tomatoes score, is poised to pass Michael Sarnoski’s A Quiet Place: Day One(2024) to take the No. 19 spot.

In just four weeks in theaters, Sinners, which stars Michael B. Jordan playing dual roles as twins Smoke and Stack, has taken in $257.3 million worldwide. During its entire theatrical run, A Quiet Place: Day One, starring Lupita Nyong'o and Joseph Quinn (The Fantastic Four: First Steps), earned $261 million.
