Francisco Lupini is a Venezuelan filmmaker based in New York City. He was named the best emerging Latino Filmmaker on the East Coast by the Director's Guild of America for his short film El nido vacío (2012). Over the past 8 years Lupini's films have earned him over 80 Official Festival Selections around the world. He has received multiple Audience Awards at festivals including Chicago Latino Film Festival, Palm Springs International Short Fest and Costa Rica Film Festival. He was awarded the Golden Palm Award at the Mexico International Film Festival, Best Short Film at the Columbus International Film & Video Festival and a special mention for Best Drama at the Trieste Festival of Latin American Cinema. His work often features complex female protagonists and focuses on themes about family dynamics, human obsessions and the pursuit of truth. In 2019, he released his first feature film ¡He matado a mi marido! (2018), which was nominated for Best Picture in the Imagen Awards. Francisco received his BFA in Film and TV Production as well as Dramatic Literature from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.
