No, that’s not a typo, for their latest mockbuster, The Twisters the folks at The Asylum simply added “The” to the title of the film they’re cashing in on. That’s a pretty ballsy move even for them, and since I haven’t heard of any lawsuits being filed, they seem to have gotten away with it, much like they did simply tacking an “s” onto the end of The Exorcist and releasing The Exorcists a few months ago.

This time out, the film begins as a tornado is about to take out Topeka, Kansas. Nobody but Dr. James Garland knows. He knows because his new predictive algorithm, code-named Tina, told him so. But, the weather is clear and sunny so nobody, least of all his boss Dr.

Director Lee Isaac Chung’s Twisters, a long-awaited follow-up to director Jan De Bont’s 1996 classic disaster film Twister, is set to reach theatres on July 19th – and as of right now, it looks like it could do some big business… but you never know what’s going to happen with the box office these days. Father Ryland is in the cemetery reading sports scores to one of the deceased when he’s approached by Father Cortez. He comes bearing bad news, Ryland’s mentor, Father Murphy has passed away.

The film follows three exorcists attempting to perform a round-the-clock ritual on a possessed girl, which becomes increasingly challenging for them. The Exorcists stars Doug Bradley, who is best known for playing Pinhead in the Hellraiser franchise.

The The Exorcists trailer pits the star of Hellraiser against a demonic force. The mockbuster movie, which was put out by the production and distribution company The Asylum, is timed to come to limited theaters and video on demand on September 29, one week before the release of Blumhouse's The Exorcist: Believer. The folks at The Asylum are the masters of the mockbuster – those being lower budget movies that are made and released around the same time as bigger budget studio movies with similar titles and concepts. Some of their previous films include Snakes on a Train, Transmorphers, Almighty Thor, Battle Star Wars, Top Gunner, Jurassic Domination, and The Little Mermaid. It’s pretty easy to figure out what each one of those was trying to cash in on. Now, with a new Exorcist sequel (The Exorcist: Believer) set to reach theatres on October 6th, The Asylum has announced that they will be releasing a movie called The Exorcists on September 29th – and a trailer for the film can be seen in the embed above!

In the opening minutes of DC Down, Washington DC is hit by an earthquake that, among other things, causes the roof of The White House to collapse trapping President Powell and Vice President Jameson inside.

Lance Cushing a former combat engineer and search and rescue expert is called in to help get them out. He brings his fiance Katherine who is a seismologist along. It’s a good thing he did because it looks like there’s going to be some massive aftershocks, but her so far unproven “Dispersal Theory” might be able to protect what’s left of The White House from them. Meanwhile, Speaker of the House Wilder has been sworn in as acting President, and a militia group, The Virginia Lookout, led by Beck are heading to DC.
