Every Lisa O'Hare TV Show Ranked

Famous for being a stage actress, Lisa O'Hare has broken into television, with roles in various series spanning different genres. O'Hare often only appears in one-episode performances in shows like The Closer and Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart. The actress' most significant role is a 17-episode arc on New Amsterdam, in which she played Georgia Goodwin.

English theater actress Lisa O'Hare has appeared in several notable television shows since 2010, usually in key roles. O'Hare has had a long winding journey to American television. She began her career as a ballet dancer, and quickly moved into musical theater, with starring roles in Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, and A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, the last of which won the Tony Award for Best Musical. It was not until 2010 that O'Hare appeared in her first television role in an episode of The Closer.

Georgia's Death In New Amsterdam Explained
Image
Georgia's death in New Amsterdam season 1 was a result of the ambulance crash and brain bleeding injuries. Max Goodwin hallucinates Georgia's presence in season 2 as he deals with his grief. Although Georgia's character doesn't make it past season 2, her death deeply affects Max and lingers throughout the rest of the series.

Georgia's death in New Amsterdam season 1 was one of the most shocking moments of season 1 - and despite Lisa O'Hare's character leaving the show many years ago viewers still want to know why Dr. Goodwin's wife was killed off. When New Amsterdam first introduces the Goodwins in its pilot episode, Dr. Max Goodwin (Ryan Eggold) has only just taken over as medical director of the neglected state hospital, New Amsterdam, and hopes to turn things around. Max and his pregnant wife Georgia (Lisa O'Hare) struggle through many marital problems during the pregnancy but ultimately reconcile by the New Amsterdam season 1 finale.

New Amsterdam: [Spoiler's] Death and Hard Truths!
New Amsterdam Fanatics are still reeling from losing one of their own.

By the end of New Amsterdam Season 2 Episode 1, the series revealed which of the ladies had died after the accident.

It was the character whom people had suggested most: Georgia.

The decision to kill off a recurring character this soon into the series was a controversial one among many fans, myself included. In many ways, New Amsterdam set itself apart from other medical dramas who rely on a long kill-list for ultimate shock value and emotional manipulation of the viewers.

New Amsterdam was doing something on its own. Losing a character when we just got to know them is frustrating. It's irritating when the top contenders were the primary female characters.

New Amsterdam Season 1 Episode 10 Review: Six or Seven
Hopefully, you remembered to hydrate after all the tears you cried while watching New Amsterdam Season 1 Episode 10.

Hydration is important because we don't want any of you collapsing. If you set a goal to reduce stress, then that all went to hell after watching that heart-pounding hour of New Amsterdam!

The series has found its stride. It knows what it is and what it wants to be, and now it's doing what it does best which is emotionally manipulating the heck out of us in the sweetest way possible.

Max Goodwin lives. There were no doubts that he would, but it didn't make the hour or his dire condition any less harrowing. The moments with Helen talking Georgia through a trach using a pocket knife and a straw in the middle of nowhere had to be the most breathtaking of the hour.

The good news for many of you wondering...

Episode Recap: Castle - 3.01: "A Deadly Affair"
When last we saw our duo of most excellent unresolved sexual tension, Castle (Nathan Fillion) was high-tailing it to the Hamptons for the summer to work on his book, and lick his wounds from having to watch Demming and Beckett (Stana Katic) make goo-goo eyes at each other for the past few months. That left Beckett back at the squad room, still not knowing what or who she wants -- having just dumped Demming -- and probably lead to a vicious workout with a punching bag followed by large amounts of wine. But, I guess life moved on at the station, cases got solved, and grudges were upheld. When we see Castle, he's running through a warehouse full of mirrors, gun in hand, and not once does he get a chance to stop and admire his "ruggedly handsome" visage. That's because someone is unloading a clip of bullets at him,...
