Antihero Deadpool is known for his chaotic energy and loudmouthed nature, which naturally gained him the nickname Merc with the Mouth. It's no secret that not many heroes and villains in the Marvel Universe can handle Wade Willson's high-energy antics, but Spider-Man is one of the few heroes who truly considers the brutal killer a friend. With Deadpool now gaining his third movie, its astonishing the iconic duo of Deadpool and Spider-Man have yet to share a screen.

In Spider-Man/Deadpool: Monsters Unleashed #1, a group of teen witches kidnap Deadpool to summon his soulmate, hoping it will be his wife, the Succubus Queen Shiklah. However, as the spell is completed, its revealed Deadpools soulmate is none other than Spider-Man. The story attests to this by showing Deadpool and Spider-Man seamlessly working together and sharing their iconic quips while defeating a city-destroying monster.

Jaw-dropping fanart imagines Venom and Ghost Rider merged into one terrifying entity. The Venom/Ghost Rider hybrid depicted in this fanart is more brutal and heavy metal than past versions. The amalgamation would be too intense for Marvel's standard comics, given the brutally intense nature of this art style.

Two of the most hardcore antiheroes in Marvel Comics history are unarguably Venom and Ghost Rider, as both viciously eliminate evildoers wherever they find them, while inspiring unparalleled terror and utter dread in those they spare. And now, one piece of fanart imagines the two brutal protectors of the innocent as one terrifying entity - and the vision of this amalgamated monster is way too metal for Marvel.

This review is based off a volume that collects Spider-Man/Deadpool #6-7, 11-12 and 1.Mu.

As enjoyable as books chronicling the adventures of the Justice League or Avengers may be, they often don’t get to explore the interpersonal relationships shared between specific superheroes as often as we’d like. But, when you pare it down to two, you’re given a much different kind of team-up comic. Personally, I enjoy seeing the best buddy dynamic offered whenever Batman and Superman join forces or, likewise, whenever the Flash and Green Lantern go back to back. On the other hand, I also get a kick out of the veritable powder keg that is Daredevil and Punisher.

The focus of today’s review, though, Spider-Man/Deadpool, may be in a class of its own. You’ve got a do-gooder in Peter Parker and a mercenary in Wade Wilson, so, logically, they shouldn’t get along.
